reputation actually has more love songs than lover which makes it even more iconic since everyone was expecting drama she just wanted to sing about joe
EXACTLY! nobody expected reputation to be so lovey-dovey. To me, it is basically a metaphor for CLICKBAIT. The lead single LWYMMD and the dark aesthetic made people think it's gonna be a "diss" album, but only the first half was that. When the storm clears up, you are left with the pretty sky, which is the second half of how she redeemed herself from the drama and found true love. Even the album cover depicts it. Half of the cover is covered by headlines (aka the media *staining* her image) while the other half is transparent and blank, which indicates her inner vulnerability coming through. SO GENIUS. At that time, reputation was her most conceptually cohesive and realized album in my opinion. It made me her stan! the best decision I've ever made,
@@Anna13Tonks same. I wanted to join the hate train post 2016. I was such a fool. After listening to Reputation back in 2017 i couldn't help but admire her. She is the boss.

my interpretation of IDSB is that "THEY said i did something bad" but "they" are ignoring her perspective and twisting her words. I think it also relates to LWYMMD where she says "oh look what you made me do". Both songs raise the question of WHAT did she really do? what was her crime. In songs like evermore she says "i replay my footsteps on each stepping stone trying to find the one where i wont wrong" for which my interpretation is that she herself didn't really knew what was so horrible that she did to deserve all the shit that she got from the media.
"this is why we cant have Nice things" she wanted to sound like a childish song, cause it was like she was singing for Kids. She literally called them imature (Kanye and Kim) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"if I'd be him, I'd be so flattered" OMG there's actually a clip from Reputation tour where Taylor LITERALLY pointed at where Joe was standing in the crowd at the last "you're so gorgeous!" and a fan got Joe's reaction on camera!! He had a sheepish grin but tried so hard to control his face because people were looking at him 😂💕
@@saraseth7831 ruclips.net/video/FUzk4dvPeQ0/видео.html&ab_channel=TayTayNews here! Though that video is during the chorus of Gorgeous. There's another clip that showed Taylor pointed at him at the end of the song but unfortunately i couldn't find it. I think it was a fancam.
God I don’t think I’ve ever seen a reaction that analyzes these songs as well as yours! You grabbed every meaning and understood everything amazingly well
the way i understood “ill be cleaning up bottles with you on new’s year day” is her picturing them living together and spending the rest of her life with him. so when u live together u usually celebrate new years together and maybe invite people and friends to come, so when u clean up the bottles together meaning when the party’s over u dont have to go home anymore now that youre now together. so its like her saying that i want to spend the rest of my life with u
The beauty of this album is that it starts very hard and it almost feels like Taylor is playing into the version of herself that everyone believes her to be: she pretends that she doesn’t care about her reputation. But slowly but surely, it starts turning into this soft and beautiful thing, where she begins to question herself: is the person that she desires not going to want to know her because they believe the things that people say about her? It’s about finding love, hope and light in the darkest time of her life.
Taylor actually said she purposely put the louder more chaos sounding songs at the beginning of the album and then had it slowly turn to softer sounds because it represents finding love among the chaos.
I think the reason why Reputation has more about her romance is because it's never meant to be a response specifically to the phone call drama, but basically her overall reputation throughout her career. It was meant to literally rewrite her reputation. After Rep, Taylor is no longer addressed as the serial dater or snake anymore (except by really outdated people living in the caves) and more known for her political stance, musicianship, cats, and overly private relationship with Joe. People don't really ask much about other things now, i believe she's more picky with which shows and interviewers she's comfortable with, and people in the industry has finally started to respect her as a huge-enough star to know not to piss her off. Really good for her 🔥 P/s: happy to know a fellow Potterhead 🙌
I Did Something Bad and Getaway Car should have been singles. They deserved Music Videos, even they could have worked as a whole story with a crime as the plot. I hope she releases them as singles when she re releases the album
I loved your reaction and I think you got the meaning to all the songs so well. This album has such a dark aesthetic and the first songs are kinda dark, but it´s really about her finding love in her darkest times. Now you should consider reacting to the Reputation Stadium Tour, it´s so good :)
If you love her lyricism you should check out folklore and evermore next, they're AMAZING!! Also speak now, she wrote every song completely by herself, not a single cowriter and she was I think 19
Wonderful rx! I’m so glad you appreciated the top two closing tracks on her albums, NY Day. It’s different than the rest of the album because at the end of the story, she is in loooove. And, don’t read the last page, but I stay. It’s an iconic album start to finish. It’s the perfect Segway into her next album, Lover. Reputation is about falling in love, Lover is about being in love. Call it What you Want is a fave. This song tells the entire story of what was going on and telling how Joe was there for her and that’s all that matters to her now. Iconic bridges: Dress, King of My Heart, and Getaway Car. Rep is her biggest love album. Anytime in her songs that she mentions a dive bar on the east side, or a summer, or keeping secrets, the word delicate, they all refer to Joe.
I’ve always gotten the impression that “I Did Something Bad” is Taylor going “you want me to be the bad guy? Fine, now I’m the bad guy.” It’s her confessing to everything the media had accused her of during that time and reveling in her “badness,” which is what they expected of her. But as the album goes on it becomes very clear that that’s not how she really feels about the situation and her reputation. What I love about this album is that it has two narrators- the media’s version of Taylor, who sings songs like IDSB and LWYMMD, who’s manipulative and vindictive and seeking revenge, and then Taylor’s version of Taylor, who’s very insecure, hurt, and vulnerable and who is trying to protect this precious love she finds herself falling in. Media Taylor is the outer shell protecting Real Taylor, but throughout the album that shell cracks and Real Taylor eventually takes the reins. It’s something that she portrayed visually in her “Ready For It” music video really well- that video could serve as a mission statement for the whole album.
Girl there is so much gossip surrounding Getaway Car. I am very nosy so I love it LOL. It’s about her leaving a (very awful) relationship with Calvin Harris and using Tom Hiddleston as a rebound. Shortly after breaking up with Calvin, paps caught her making out with Tom and Calvin logged in to Twitter to have a public breakdown and talk shit. Taylor met Tom and Joe (!!!) the same day, at the 2016 Met Gala (Dress: “flashback when you MET me, your buzzcut and my hair bleached”, you can google the pics). It seems from the lyrics of other albums that Joe and Taylor were friends for months before they dated, but she had a crush on him (I personally think she already liked Joe when she was having her fling with Tom). So in Getaway Car, she is basically saying that she met Tom Hiddleston (again, at the MET gala) when she was trying to leave someone, so he should have known that she was going to leave him too: “think about the place when your first MET me”. Cruel Summer from Lover is also very juicy.

Notice how you said in Delicate she shows on a more “vulnerable” side. AND, notice too that is the track 5 on the album. I couldn’t believe that the tour itself was the most badass stage presence of hers. It was massive. I’ve seen so many clips on here of her performances and they’re insane. You have really interesting things to say about Taylor music and lyrics, thank you for sharing your thoughts about Taylor's music with us!
Getaway Car is about her leaving Calvin Harris (the guy who the line about a man talking shit and spending her change is about) for Tom Hiddleston (the actor that plays Loki lol)
I really enjoyed this reaction! Also, funfact, the baby voice who said “gorgeous” in the beginning is blake lively and ryan reynolds’ eldest daughter, james reynolds. :)

I am SHOCKED! I cannot believe how well you interpreted this album. Some reactors get the meanings wrong or don't connect certain themes. You got it all! I am so impressed! The Lover album kind of continues the story of Call It What You Want and New Years Day, it's actually really fun to listen to the albums back to back.
If you want to know how badass her reputation era was you need to see ama performence. I know their are so many refrences , songs and music video to react. ( cause she is music industry) but that performence is everything.
the first time i listened to reputation i was so confused bc it was so different from all of her previous works but now is one of my favorites albums so far
I love it how you figure out that I did something bad is written in the perspective of the person the media portrayed her to be. It cool cuz it's not the first time she's done. In my mind IDSB taylor is the older and more ruthless version of Black Space persona Taylor.
reputation actually has more love songs than lover which makes it even more iconic since everyone was expecting drama she just wanted to sing about joe
@Karol Caicedo i didnt say it didnt have love songs, rep just has more love songs go check yourself
Lover is the better album reputation lyrics amazing production only some good
@Karol Caicedo question. How did you know Taylor Swift didn't write Cornelia Street??.....cause google says taylor wrote it.
Yes!, lover is my fav album, though I feel like rep has more love or deep songs for Joe.
@Karol Caicedo those are some of my favorite Taylor songs but reputation still has more love songs no point denying xD
my favorite part about I did something bad is taylor say "THEY SAY I did something bad" with mean the media and the haters were talking bad about her

Getaway Car is about her leaving Calvin Harris (the guy who the line about a man talking shit and spending her change is about) for Tom Hiddleston (the actor that plays Loki lol)
you NEED to see her performing I did something bad live!!!! it's another level, I swear.
Great reaction, btw ❤️
I really enjoyed this reaction! Also, funfact, the baby voice who said “gorgeous” in the beginning is blake lively and ryan reynolds’ eldest daughter, james reynolds. :)
In getaway car lyrics “Think about the place you first -met- me” the met gala Taylor genius Swift
WOW! your analysis is perfect!!!
Please do a reaction of Reputation Stadium Tour.. it will be the perfect to watch next after this..
Is no one gonna talk about her brows, its on fleek.
I personally would love to see react to all taylor's album especially lover, folklore and evermore
I love your videos! I would love to see more albums reactions! also, i strongly recommend you to watch the I did something bad AMA performance, it's a must!
Binge-watching your Taylor reactions right now!!
i love this reaction video so much! you’re so great!
So keen for this! Found you through your t-swift content and have been watching you for weeks now. Love your energy so much 😘
If you want to know how badass her reputation era was you need to see ama performence. I know their are so many refrences , songs and music video to react. ( cause she is music industry) but that performence is everything.
Super great reaction, I love how expressive you are.
Omg .. i love your reactions especially taylor's one 😍😍
Reputation is her best album 😍
Literally, the only reaction I've seen really understands New Year's Day! Such good insight. I love the commentary.
the first time i listened to reputation i was so confused bc it was so different from all of her previous works but now is one of my favorites albums so far
The lipstick are like signature in her songs 😅❤️

New here and obsessed with ur Taylor reactions
Can you please react to her performance of "I did something bad" at the AMAs in 2018?
I feel like It's one of her best performances ever
I’ve been coming for the Taylor Swift reactions but hit subscribe today because of the Harry Potter reference😂
Gabbsi, i am so happy you apreciate taylor so much! Please, react to her other albums ❤ i am loving your videos
watch the i did something bad amas performance!!! you are gonna love it
and ofc the reputation stadium tour
I love it how you figure out that I did something bad is written in the perspective of the person the media portrayed her to be. It cool cuz it's not the first time she's done. In my mind IDSB taylor is the older and more ruthless version of Black Space persona Taylor.
