Don’t get me wrong, the all too well short film is incredible but for a first listen I would recommend just watching the lyric video so you can better understand and listen to the AMAZING lyrics

you're completely right. especially since folklore, as her songwriting ability kept improving, she intentionally made these delicate and easter eggs-filled lyric videos in order to increase our memorization of the lyrics. If you just listen to her songs on spotify for the first time, you'll miss a lot.
Totally agree with this. I've watched a number of reactors go for the short film first and get caught up in the visual while missing the lyrics. The short film is its own thing, and it's great, but I think I actually prefer the visuals of the lyric video with Taylor singing in the booth.

It's okay if you don't love most of the songs on the first listen, Red is pretty long. But I promise you, this is an album that gets better every time you listen to it. I didn't love it as much the first few times I listened to it but it's now one of my favourite albums of all time.
Besides Folklore and Evermore, this album contains some of her best songwriting ever. It's just an album that keeps on giving.
There's nothing quite like watching someone experiencing the masterpiece that is Allt Too Well for the first time 🥺

After listening to the moment I knew, 22 has a whole new meaning. I like that it is such a fun song with her enjoying being young, especially after knowing how she spent her 21rst birthday

Taylor's said that Red resembles a heartbroken person, all over the place, so I think that going from a sad song to a pop song to another very sad song and so on and so on really shows that :)
When we listened to “The Moment I Knew” and “All Too Well 10 minutes version” we realized how sad her 21st birthday was.
And that makes the song “22” 50 times better

I did the EXACT same thing with Stay Stay Stay, when I first heard it I was kind of like "what is this, this is not a Taylor Swift worthy song" but after I kept thinking it was so cute and kinda fun and it quickly became a favorite from the album. It's not her strongest song but it's cheesy and fun and quirky and I just LOVE it, it'll always have a special place in my heart!
Jokes aside, wether you like Taylor or not, All Too Well is one of the best written songs i've heard in my entire life. It's in the same level that Hotel California and Bohemian Rhapsody are for me(and I don't put any song up there). This song is an ACTUALLY masterpiece.
All too well is a masterpiece. There’s not a swiftie out there who doesn’t know all the lyrics to that song.
And just when you thought it couldn't get any better she gave us the 10 Minutes version.
When this album came out, I didn’t really get the track list and thought the album felt random. But after going going through a RED relationship/break up and listening to Taylor’s Version, I completely understood because that’s how it feels.
All too well is the song that made me want to listen to Red Taylor’s version, the 10 minutes version is such a masterpiece, I still listen to it every single day 🥺

i would normally recommend people to listen to Lover album just because it is so underrated and yet one of my fav but since you are soooo good with paying attention to her lyrics I CANT WAIT FOR YOU TO LISTEN TO FOLKLORE AND EVERMORE ♡ I LOVE UR REACTIONS KEEP IT UP! The guy singing with Taylor on “The Last Time” is Gary Lightbody from the band Snow Patrol. I absolutely love that band & would love to see you react to their stuff. I adore Gary singing with Taylor. Their voices together are just as amazing as when she sings with Ed Sheeran!

I’m really exited for you to listen to the other albums now especially lover because it’s the total opposite of red. In the album foreword for red Taylor wrote
“My experiences in love have taught me difficult lessons, especially my experiences with crazy love. The red relationships. The ones that went from zero to a hundred miles per hour and then hit a wall and exploded. And it was awful. And ridiculous. And desperate. And thrilling. And when the dust settled, it was something I’d never take back. Because there is something to be said for being young and needing someone so badly, you jump in head first without looking. And there's something to be learned from waiting all day for a train that's never coming. And there's something to be proud of about moving on and realizing that real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn't fade or spontaneously combust. Maybe I’ll write a whole album about that kind of love if I ever find it.”
Years later in 2019 Taylor who by that time was with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn for three years wrote the album lover and describes their love as golden. It’s this full circle moment when listening the final track that was titled Daylight.
Also, because they ou love lyrics so much you’re gonna absolutely adore folklore and evermore.
Now you can understand the existence of 22 and why is so upbeat and why is just after all too well. Jake made her feel awful in her 21st birthday, so she overcompensated in the following birthday.
Also, the "outro" in The Last Time is repetitive cause the thing is that she always said 'this is the last time im asking you this' but it never was the last time, she kept asking cause he never put her at the top of his list. It HURTS.
I stopped to write this while you are listening to "All Too Well" OG right at the bridge and I am thinking... "she is NOT gonna survive the 10 min. version... SEND HELP!!!"
Also, "22" you are right is not AS complex as the others, what IS complex is the reason the song came to be in the first place, knowing the back story of the song gives it a whole lot of depth and meaning as well. at least I think.
"Stay, stay, stay" was meant to be her idea of a good relationship in which no matter what, the other person would stay because he/she loves you enough to STAY and solve the problems instead of just walking away and giving up.
"Begin Again" she is telling herself how her "current" date differs from her ex and how he never liked certain things about her that the new date actually loves/likes about her, thus making her feel special whereas the old one made her feel out of place, wrong, immature, and all-around negatively about herself.
"Ronan" as a mom of a current 6-year-old leukemia patient is my only skip song from Taylor. I have only heard it ONCE complete and it broke me, and that was even before I had kids. it is a BEAUTIFUL song and an AMAZING way to honor this little guys' life and his moms' strength and resilience.
"I bet you think about me" is 100% autobiographical...
The entire album is directed at 1 individual ok the MAJORITY of the album is directed at 1 person. so most of the songs refer to the same individual... poor soul🤷🏻♀️
Ronan is my skip when I am driving. I cry every single time and after having to pull over twice to get past the tears I just skip past.

Ed Sheeran is actually like one of Taylors best friends.
They said they came up with the idea for 'everything has changed' while jumping on a trampoline in Taylors backyard.
They have four songs together.
Just a quick recommendation : Holy Ground by Taylor in the BBC Lounge is an absolute masterpiece, where you feel the lyrics so much more!
I also only discovered the album RED when she released Taylor's Version and... it's truly a masterpiece
I love The Last Time. There is just something special about the song to me. It’s dedo in my top ten favorite songs by T. Swift.
There's interesting stuff happened with tracklist. You confused the place of all to well and 22. Yup we were too. But once you listen to the 10 minuts you'll find the answer. The moment I knew also relate to that. (Add: nothing new will provides another extra story)
"I almost do" to "we are never ever getting back together" pretty much answer each other thought through action. Fun fact WANEGBT was a sad song when she wrote that in the first time. But she turned the whole mood and keep the lyrics just to piss her ex that used to conpare her music to indie artists.
Anyway: stay, stay, stay placement is basically she said what would happen if they back together. But obviously they back together and "The Last Time" confirmed just to break up again in "Holly Ground & Sad Beautiful Tragic"
The relief moment starts in "Everything Has Changed" as you explained. And "Begin Again" really tell the struggle of how to move on. But she ended the standard album with that song and let the puzzle remains mystery. So there's a theory that she wants the listeners to know that the cycle of that toxic abusive relationship never end. She keeps RED as the whole heartbreaking album. Cause the title says it all "begin again" and if we put on a repeat it will attach to "start of grace" and keep the loop stays together.
So yeah, like she said in the original prologue or the taylor's version, RED really her most heartbroken album. She keeps the feeling through out the album and once the listeners think there's a way out, she leaves the grass too dry.
Such a good album. Although it’s just speculation…. It’s highly speculated that Although this album is about Jake… a few songs are thought to be about Harry, they overlapped slightly between Red and her putting out 1989.….come back be here, the very first night, and maybe I knew you were trouble and treacherous. Just speculation though. I mean, other than Out of the woods (in my top 3 favorite TS songs), all others are just speculation.
Ronan is her saddest song. Because she took phrases from Maya Thompson ‘s blog, Maya has songwriting credits. We are very happy Ronan now has a home.
She wrote Better Man and gave it to Little Big Town and it won a Grammy. Write Babe and gave it to Sugarland and it was a major hit, sings backup on the track and stars in the music video.
If she submits ATW 10 for next years Grammy, and if it’s eligible, I predict it will win SOTY.
I don't think there's a songs about harry on this album, cz she dated him after releasing red.

@@irem021 well she met Harry March 2012 and Red wasn’t released for another 7 mos. I think it’s accepted that I knew you were trouble is about Harry. And she has confirmed that Treacherous is about the same person.
@@irem021 some people have linked them shortly between March & April 2012, then they reconnected in the fall of 2012 after Red was written. I’m not a Haylor fan, but I do believe these two songs are about their short fling in March-April 2012, not about their relationship in late 2012.
@@irem021 see i don’t think they ended on bad terms at all. And, I don’t think those songs are negative. I don’t think any song about HArry is negative. Knowing that going down a road will get her in trouble, but she does it anyway. That’s not bad about whoever the song is about. Its on her. That’s what she is singing about, she knew it and did it anyway. Similar to Style, he cheated, admitted it, but she does it anyway because she can’t help herself. Those songs are not negative about him. They are very different from Jake songs.

Hi :) Good reaction and analysis of the song lyrics. 👍🏼. You love Harry Styles right ? During the RED era...Taylor met Harry for the first time. They flirted with each other. So...Several of the songs in the RED album pertains to him. Like "Message in a Bottle", "Come Back...Be Here" and "I Knew You Were Trouble". After a few weeks...they separated. Harry kissed and dated another girl/model. After about 6 months, Harry and Taylor dated 2nd time around (as seen in "How You Get The Girl" and "This Love" lyrics). After that ...the 1989 Album was born (it has the most Harry Styles inspired songs).

RED has so many ups and downs and a mix of genres because it is meant to represent the whole spectrum of emotions that you experience in a relationship. It is purposely not cohesive.
She worked with Max Martin and Shellback on 4 songs here: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, I Knew You Were Trouble, 22, and Message in a Bottle. Which is why these songs sound different from the rest of the album. They also produced a lot of 1989, and about half of Reputation.
Well, in regards to your thoughts on the album, it is not cohesive and that's how it has been. Heartbreak is a major theme on the album, and it has a lot of up and downs - just like what the album is trying to say. You will go through a lot of back and forth between being happy and sad, and from that standpoint, I understood why there's a lot of genres on RED. 😌

She and Chris Stapleton deliberately exaggerated the country sound of IBYTAM, because Gyllenhaal started dating Taylor in October, 2010, after her Speak Now album went platinum in a week -- and he preferred his indie music favorites. Watch the music video she made for WANEGBT (her band dressed in costumes, because the album release was near Halloween).
I Bet You Think About Me is another song that fits with All Too Well, WANEGBT, The Moment I Knew, ---- it is autobiographical, about Gyllenhaal. By this time, she'd had songs about Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, and John Mayer (as well as a couple boys on her debut). There was a standing joke that if you break up with her, she writes a song about it. She wrote 22 as a sort of joke about how much better off she was the summer after she broke up with him,.
I think some songs on Red (Treacherous, I Almost Do, Message in a Bottle) are probably about Harry Styles; Swift dated Gyllenhaal in the fall of 2010, Styles in an on and off relationship in 2012 and in 2013. Songs about that period make up a lot of 1989, but they dated a bit the summer before Red was released. A clue is either a reference to London, or to his green eyes (Jake and Taylor have the same zodiac sign, and both have blue eyes "twin fire signs, four blue eyes").
Her bestfriend Jeff lang died because of overdosing or suicide and that’s why she wrote Forever Winter

You absolutely need to listen to all too well ten minute version before you watch the short film. Too many reactors made the mistake of doing the short film only and just completely ignoring the lyrics. You need to process the lyrics first, understand them a tiny bit then watch the short film. Also the lyric video contains footage of Taylor recording it in the studio. Please do them both even if you do them in the same video just the song first.
Check the I bet you think about me clip video and you will see Taylor's perspective ! Love your videos so much !
