There's currently no Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. If Walt Disney World plans on a holiday overlay for their Haunted Mansion, this what it may look like since Tokyo Haunted Mansion has almost the same layout as Magic Kingdom ride.
If you guys are a Disney fans, we highly recommend visiting Tokyo Disney Resort in the near future. It's seriously the best Disney park in the world. Tokyo DisneySea is beyond incredible! Tokyo Disney resort ticket is very affordable unlike in the United States. You are looking around $60 for day ticket to $200 for a 4 day ticket.

Tokyo Disneyland really is one of the greatest versions of the Haunted Mansion. The ride is very accurate, for example, to the very original ride in things like the stretching face portrait, Leota's head staying on the table, the banging door with the smoke coming out of the top, the bats in the attic, and the overall appearance of the ghosts in the graveyard just to name a few. Plus, it seems very well maintained and furbished with the movement of the animatronics. As with the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, they really do have the better version. Some of the additions like the little caged bugs, Lock Shock and Barrel in the window and in the ending, and the little Sally at the end really do add to the ride. The flying skeleton reindeer in the graveyard scene especially blew me away.
yes!! sometimes anaheim has a little too much in terms of the NBC decorations...this one is a little more low-key and looks SO much better

Crafty Fox but sometimes less is more. By not having many portraits in the corridor of doors, for example, it allows guests to focus more on the doors and what's behind them, which is the purpose of the corridor of doors. Makes it creepy to think that something could burst out from the other side in any second.

Totally agree, and this is just a tiny nitpick. The original doesn't have smoke coming out from that one particular door and there aren't hands at the top. It is, however, the one door that has the strongest knocking and feels like if anything is going to break out, it's at this one.

I genuinely wish there was one as well. Surprisingly enough prior to the holiday overlays there was going to be a nightmare before Christmas dark ride. It was going to be next to small world believe it or not and tbh the ride looked a lot better compared to what they usually do

I don’t think they wanted to synchronize the new Japanese dialogue with her lips and they didn’t want to refill it with Japanese dialogue.
Also the song is in English. It's kind of a thing Disney does, they tend to blend English and local language in their parks outside of the US

I think the main reason is because Eleanor Audley's voice is too iconic as Madame Leota. She also voiced Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty and the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella.

I never knew about the Christmas overlay in Tokyo until now. Gives me a bigger reason to visit next year during the holidays so I could see this overlay on the haunted mansion

kidwajagstang no this version unfortunately may never appear at magic kingdom. The reason why is because magic kingdom has been considered a once in a life time experience so they don’t do any overlays to the rides so every guest gets the same ride expierience. Imagine you only can go to Disney World once in your life and your looking forward to ride the original versions of rides and when you get there it’s all changed for an overlay. That’s why

The Lock, Shock and Barrel finale makes so much more sense than the Oogie Boogie one in California.

this is nothing short of glorious. I enjoyed visiting Disneyland's version of HMH for many years, but me preferring Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion, how I wish they'd do it there. I have several Imagineer friends who tell me it will never happen, so at least this shows me what it would be like since the Orlando and Tokyo Mansions are identical. Tokyo has the superior one for sure!

there are certain things that do deserve an overhaul to being outdated and not popular enough (i.e. a bugs land, even though I adore it with all my Pixar-loving heart) but the haunted mansion is not fucking one of them

I agree that the original will always hold a special place in my heart (because its the Disneyland I went to a lot as a child, being from socal), it really needs a major overhaul. There isn't as much inclusion of the NMBXM character's as there is here in the Tokyo version. Really, in the original, most of the NMBXM comes towards the end of the ride and it's not really themed, just a overlay pretty much. The original and even the Florida version could use more characters included. Like instead of themeing Hatbox Ghost, why don't they try and turn him into a unique character? I was glad that Sally finally got added into the ride, but we could use other characters.

懐かしいなぁ…3歳の頃は滅茶苦茶ビビりでIt's a small wouldで泣く、プーさんのハニーハントでも泣く、挙げ句の果てには花火でも泣くというレベルだったものだからナイトメア・ビフォア・クリスマスコラボは(多分コラボじゃなくても)滅茶苦茶大泣きしてたらしい。辛うじて覚えてるのはサリーの顔だけだったw
お墓からひょっこりはんしてくる所でビビって発狂して回りの人にガン見されて泣いたのは今となっては良い思い出…😂

I wish I came here at least once. Tokyo has the best haunted mansion. La-Da singer, good lighting, holiday overlay, added rooms, better animatronics, updated scenery, original looks, more gags, and more added features in general.

The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay was there once, but it was so badly received by the Florida guests that they didn't bring it back.
Here are all the differences there are in the rides at Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland.
1. In the room before entering the stretching room, there is a portrait of Jack Skellington in his Halloween outfit then changes into his Christmas outfit, Disneyland’s version is with the changes portraits after the stretching room, and Jack Skellington is first in his Christmas outfit, then his Halloween outfit.
2. In the stretching room when the portraits stretch there are two portraits mixed up, the one that says ‘Twas the nightmare before Christmas portrait has Jack Skellington with ghost in the background, and the one that says the stocking all hung by the chimney with care has Jack Skellington and his reindeer. The Disneyland’s portraits have Jack and his reindeer in the ‘‘twas the nightmare before Christmas portrait, and Jack and the ghost in the stockings hung by the chimney with care portrait.
3. After the room stretches, you see Jack Skellington from the ceiling. The Disneyland version has a screen where it’s a glass ceiling that breaks, and Jack and his ghost dog Zero appear, but the Tokyo Disneyland version has the old Jack Skellington head.
4. After you leave the stretching room you go to the loading area, while going there are changing portraits, but Tokyo Disneyland doesn’t.
5. The loading area is different, the Disneyland version has a ton of characters from the nightmare before Christmas movie, while Tokyo Disneyland is just in a room that has walls
6. There are a ton of scenes that aren’t apart of the Disneyland ride. Such as the Library and the library piano. As your board you Black Christmas Sleigh, you see Jack and Sally near the stairs of the Tokyo Disneyland ride, there is also a hallway with portraits of the nightmare before Christmas characters, then the library has Zero decorating a tree made out of books, and the piano has a vampire teddy bear playing the piano with Sally watching. Then you go up and there is a tree that transforms into Oogie Boogie.
7. You go to the endless hallway which is the staring for the Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion tour, as you go by the Ghost armor wears a pumpkin head, but the Tokyo Disneyland’s version doesn’t.
8. In the room where Madame Leota can be found, she doesn’t float at Tokyo Disneyland, but does in the other park.
9. In Tokyo there is no Nutcracker zombie, and no candle Christmas tree, neither a vampire teddy bear.
10. In the background, Lock, Shock, and Barrel can be seen peaking outside the window. But Disneyland’s version doesn’t have it.
11.The ballroom scene, the gingerbread house at Disneyland changes every year, but Tokyo Disneyland uses the same one every year.
12. At Disneyland, presents are seen flying out of a coffin with snow, but Tokyo’s has ghost coming out.
13. There is a window at Disneyland where there is a Christmas tree made out of books is seen, but at Tokyo’s version it is just a curtain that has Jack and Sally, and it’s because they already have the Christmas tree in the library seen in Tokyo.
14. After you leave the attic with the presents, the hatbox ghost can be found, but not at Tokyo.
15. As you go down to the graveyard, you see the vampire teddy eating Christmas lights above you, but at Tokyo’s version, it can be seen doing that on the ride hand side of the person.
16. There are tiny skeletons spread all around the graveyard at Tokyo Disneyland, but America doesn’t.
17. The audio at Tokyo Disneyland for the graveyard is the old audio from 2001 and one when the Haunted Mansion Holiday first began, while Disneyland uses the new one from 2002.
18. Sally can be seen leaning on a grave, but Tokyo doesn’t have it.
19. At the end, Oogie Boogie can be scene giving people Holiday tricks, the mirrors show people getting their presents, but the Tokyo Disneyland version has Lock, Shock, and Barrel inside Christmas presents. The mirror parts only has one mirror covered up, and two not covered up. It then shows them in your vehicle.
20. When you are apart to leave the mansion you can see Sally waving goodbye, but Tokyo Disneyland she looks at a present.
That is all.

It’s not... DLR has so much more including Oogie Boogie, Hat box Ghost, the real gingerbread house etc. so many more details in the original that this one lacks

@@Emisop actually...Florida NEVER got the Nightmare overlay. They considered it, but guests said they didn't want it when they filled out surveys.
I like the Lock, Shock and Barrel animatronics in the Hitchhiking Ghost section. That whole section is so cool!

As much as I love our version of Haunted Mansion Holiday here in Cali, this is clearly the better one. Not only is there more room for the overlay, meaning more gags, but you also get more characters in there. Sally is all over this ride (love her) and Lock, Shock, and Barrel hitchhike with you instead of getting silly Halloween presents that don't look right.
Also, this version could easily be some kind of sequel to the movie where Halloween is finally able to put on their version of Christmas with a willing audience. Oogie throws a wrench into that idea for our version, so you can't try to fit it into the continuity.

The best version , Holiday or otherwise, of all Haunted Mansions imo. The only thing missing is the giant Oogie Boogie animatronic like the one at DL

@@princeorii7815 Disneyland gets a lot of visitors who or California locals. The overlays attract them to come multiple times a year. Disney World, however, gets a lot of international visitors or visitors who may only visit once or twice in their life. They'd be disappointed or confused why iconic rides were either different or closed to set up the overlay. (It takes a few months of the year to set up and take down the overlays. That's a lot of visitors not able to go on the rides.)

Having been on both the Anaheim and Tokyo Disneyland versions (over multiple different years), my favorite is skeleton hands down, the Tokyo Disneyland version. The layout of Tokyo Disneyland Haunted Mansion flows better and is roomier which allowed for more animatronics and decorations to be added. Every time I see a video of Tokyo's near identical clone of Florida's HM, I can't help but wonder WHY DON'T THEY DO IT IN ORLANDO TOO!!!! I even heard rumors that 'The Phantom Manor' @ DLP might be getting HMH next year?!

It's so much brighter than either of the US haunts, but I've never seen the overlay show. Is it just brighter for the season? After they revamped the WDW mansion, I find it too dark to see all the detail I remember from the many dozens of times I'd ridden it growing up. [or my eyesight is failing, that could be true too]
No, the Mansion is just as dark; the camera used is an ultra 4K low-light, and it makes these ridethrough videos much more fun!
This version is perfect for Disney World. To save the tourists from not being able to go on the original attraction for almost 6 months, I wouldn’t mind if the overlay started in November.
