Beautiful. My parents were born and raised there in Furnas where the hotsprings are before it became a tourist destination . I remember visiting as a child in the 1970s and it was like travelling back in time. I recently returned to see family as an adult . So much busier and much more modern & commercialized but the beauty is the same. A hidden paradise

Next time you can visit: Miradouro de Santa Luzia, Miradouro de Santa Iria, Lagoa do Fogo, Caldeiras da Ribeira Grande, Cascata do Salto do Cabrito, Fábrica de Chá do Porto Formoso, Fábrica de Chá da Gorreana, Lagoa São Brás (very beautiful and peaceful), Praia da Viola, Praia dos Moinhos. You still have a lot to see and enjoy.

The 9 islands of the Azores ( where I was hatched many-many moons ago :))) ) is as close to paradise you can get on Earth, & if there is a heaven on Earth these unique gorgeous islands are it... every kid should be so lucky to be born in such a beautiful , safe, clean & very natures place... after viewing your video it made me very anxious to get back to my true home , its been to long it hurts ...Thanks for the up load :)

The cows are chained then moved to other locations to graze. They actually treat their cows extremely humanely. There's a reason they call them the "happiest cows on Earth". Most cows are free roaming there
That is correct as I spent many summers with my great uncle in Sao Miquel tending to the cows. They were moved 2-3x daily to allow for grazing and only chained for their protection and control. Most cows their are allowed to move freely within the field thanks to the use of electric fences.

Hi! It was relatively easy except when we needed a pick up at Miradouro da Boca do Inferno, the taxi driver abandoned us - he said he would come and get us but never came. :‘) Luckily we found another cab company that could pick us up. ☺️
Not quite - São Miguel is on the Eurasian plate, while the island of Flores is on the North American plate. The Azores are at the junction of the Eurasian, North American, and African plates. It’s a fascinating tectonic mix!

Azores isn’t part of the European continent. It’s actually on the African tectonic plate.
