      My aunt killed my turtles. I had two turtles for about four years. Then I moved to university. My uncle had snakes and he said he had room and would love to take the turtles for me. He upgraded their tanks and things looked great! A year ago I found out that my aunt got tired of the turtles and let them go..... I am still really mad. Because I would have taken them back. I graduated last year and live on my own. Yes. I will never let her and my uncle take anything of mine anymore.

And also, most people who are doing it aren't consulting with a veterinary nutritionist, they're just making it up as they go along, which is dangerous. In general it's a bad idea unless the dog is allergic to like every kind of meat or something.

    Horrifying to see people abandon their pets in the wild AND FILM IT. I just can't wrap my head around it. I helped to rescue an abandoned rat once, he was lurking on someone's backyard, and the house owner was bright enought to notice it was a pet rat and called some rat people. I happened to live nearby, so I went there and after hours of waiting I managed to catch him into a travel box with food and my rats' smell in it. He was the best and most loving little guy right when I got him back inside, but sadly I had girls so he went for adoption. And yes, he was sadly probably abandoned, because a similar looking rat had been found nearby like two weeks earlier :/

    Not only is releasing any animal, not just domestic animals, into the wild a possible overnight death sentence but this is also how we get problems like the boas and tegus down in the everglades. A mouse may not become an issue like that, but you never know with any animal. If you dont want it / cant keep it then seek out a rescue, rehome or if you must then take it back to the store.

    If you have a male mouse, you think they're lonely, and you can't/won't neuter, there's been some really interesting colonies people have been making of African Soft Fur Rats/Mastomys natalensis females with male fancy mice (or male M. natalensis and female fancy mice), they're similar in so many ways that they treat each other as conspecifics, but cannot interbreed. A lot of people have started breeding them, either as pets or as feeder animals, so that's always something you can investigate.

    It feels like people don't take mice seriously since they're little rodents... like they don't need the same level of research and love as other animals. So depressing to see! And the worst part is that nobody considering releasing their mouse into the wild will watch this video to listen to you- they aren't going to be watching great educational channels like yours :(

    • @Emiology

      As long as the bin cage itself is the correct size above the minimum you could connect the critter trail with a tube to the bin cage to give them more space 🙂

    I never understood the process of impulsively buying an animal without knowing anything about it. Like, what’s the point? You may not even like the animal, you may accidentally kill the animal, and just by purchasing it from a pet shop you’re already making a mistake

    One of my moms friends was saying how she wanted to get her 3 little kids another pet because their dogs and chickens are apparently not enough, so she said " I should get them a little hamster or something! I am sure they would absolutely love to put it in one of those little balls and roll it around the house. And they only need small cages so they don't take up to much room. " I was like " nooooooo! ". Hopefully they don't end up getting one, if they do i might have to steal it and give it a better home. Lol

    I used to have a male mouse named splodge because it looked like his bum had been dipped in black paint but sadly his health started to deteriorate after 2 years and he developed severe allergic reactions to something although I hadn't changed anything in his cage so i decided to make my own bedding with toilet paper and a shredder and i made my own seed mix for him in case the brand of food i used changed their ingredients but it became a habit for him to itch so i saved up to get him £2300 treatment but it didn't work so I decided the best option for him was to put him to sleep. R.I.P Sploge my bby boy, mummy will never forget you and I don't go a day without missing you!

    Hey!!! I have a question about my rats! I’ve given my rat, homemade hammocks, blankets, tiny pillows, and basically everything for them
    to sleep in, but all my rat cookie wants, is to sleep in a plain carboard box, like a tissue box or something (plastic off the top of it). Is this okay for my rat? Because I really want her to be safe, but she refuses to sleep in anything but that.

    • @Emiology
      @Emiology  4 года назад +2

      Yes that’s okay 🙂 give them some shredded paper to make a nest with. In the wild they wouldn’t have fabric so if they prefer not to use it that’s okay
