According to the meaning revelation is revealing something unknown. Jesus is already born and Jesus himself revealing this truth to John. Here Jesus birth is not unknown. Can you explain?
The 12th chapter of the book of Revelation is a snapshot of the activities involving Israel, how the Messiah Jesus came from Israel, how the devil tried to prevent that from happening, how the devil will try to persecute national Israel during the Great Tribulation, how God protects the faithful remnant of Israel during that time, and how the devil will persecute believers in Jesus Christ also during the Great Tribulation period.

Rev. 12:5 talks about Jesus ruling the world with an iron rod (the fullness of it during the Millennium), and also His crucifixion almost 2000 years ago. Rev. 12:6 talks about an event 1000s of years after Jesus' crucifixion, when the remnant of Israel will be protected by God for a period of 3.5 years during the Great Tribulation.
