When you stopped and asked if they do both in the same song....🙌😂 That's really what a lot of their best songs are about. 10 min long epic melo death prog folk journeys🧙♂
Somebody did this, I haven't vetted it. % songs with growls: Orchid: 100% Morningrise: 80% - only TBYF is clean My Arms Your Hearse: 86% - only Credence is clean Still Life: 71% - Benighted and Face of Melinda are clean Blackwater Park: 86% - only Harvest is clean Deliverance: 80% - only A Fair Judgment is clean Damnation: 0% - all clean Ghost Reveries: 63% - Atonement, Hours of Wealth and Isolation Years are clean Watershed: 40% - only Heir Apparent, Lotus Eater, Hessian Peel and Derelict Herds have growls Heritage, Pale Communion, Sorceress & In Cauda Venenum: 0%
@@kanglongshankz3313hes saying every song on that album has growls not that there are no cleans (but there are tracks like silhouette and requiem which are instrumentals which maybe hes not counting those idk)
Need to check out Deliverance & Damnation. Damnation album is super melodic, but dark. Deliverance is the "The Real Opeth", just great great great. But each, and every Opeth album/song is a musical journey.
Opeth has been my fav band since the early 90's. This song is my fav heavy and my fav soft is HARVEST. When you heard BURDEN, I too wanted to request THIS song. Their latter albums have more clean vocals, much to hard core fan's chagrin.
A good introduction to Opeth is Ghost of Perdition live at Redrocks amphiteater (!) One of the most epic journeys Opeth has to offer is Coil + Heir Apparent. Other songs I would recommend is Deliverance, Blackwater Park, Reverie/Harlequinn Forest live at Royal Albert Hall, Hessian Peel, and more. Welcome to the rabbit hole xD
Mikael is also the primary songwriter and guitarist for the band, so most likely he is who wrote the guitar solo and performed it in studio (he performs it live iirc), so it being subdued is definitely an artistic choice as this album Still Life is a concept album.
If you're new in the metal scene and when you listen to a song you tell yourself "there's at least 4 different songs in that song" its a sure tell that you are listening to prog metal 🤘
I discovered Opeth when they were on the Damnation and Deliverance album releases. Damnation was all mellow music, and Deliverance was more straight death metal. But 1999's Still Life (this album) is my favorite album of their catalog.🤘
the first time i saw opeth live they played serenity painted death, and mikael said it's one of his favorite songs to listen to, but one of his least favorite to play because he often fucks up the solo. he didn't fuck it up that night and after the song commented that he was satisfied with how he played it. mikael isn't a shredder on guitar. i think he more or less writes his solos to fit the song. this is the penultimate track of a concept album, and this is the rising action and climax of the story. there is a lot going on, too much to digest on just one listen.
Burden is quite a boring song for me. This is proper Opeth although the production lets this album down. Listen to deliverance next its more straight up death metal.

🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥
YES, please more Opeth!!! .....
.... Baying of the Hounds, Hessian Peel, Coil/Heir Apparent, Ghost of Perdition, etc.
oh damn I'm WAYYY LATE 😂
@@deminybs Lol. Indeed you are. 🤘
when asked what band's discography I would take on a desert island, IT'S OPETH, each song is 50 songs. Never get bored.
Guess you will be needing more Opeth requests now then! :)
Dude is about to get downright charred by all the Opeth that is in store for him. I can't wait to witness the journey.
Imo their best overall album.
A masterpiece.

Orchid isn't 100%, there are some cleans, albeit very rare.

There’s an instrumental in orchid.
You have to do Deliverance or The Moor I think those songs explore what Opeth has to offer
My favorite band. My favorite album. What a journey. Good luck.

Ghost of perdition is so random
Great authentic reaction.
wish i could listen to opeth for the first time again
Same guy. Mikael is my incredible. It ended so sudden because it is a concept album which this song goes to the next one.

still life is my favorite too. i honestly think it may be my favorite album of all-time, but there are so many great albums.

You have to check out orchid
🤟🤟
More punch in the sound
Nice reaction bro. New sub here. To boost your channel I suggest 2 artists: Dimash, Voice of Baceprot. All the best and success
