    Yes, Red Rocks is a natural amphitheater built into the side of a mtn outside of Denver. A very famous location for live performances. And since I was there (lineup was Devin Townsend Project, Gojira, Opeth), I can say everyone was standing, rocking out, and singing along. And it was awesome as the sun set on Gojira, and a full moon rose behind Opeth.🤘

      I was at that show too and it was fucking amazing. 9th time seeing them. First time was with Pelican at the Ogden back in 2003

      @@Rose-From-the-Dead My 1st metal concert was Opeth. Valentine's Day 2003, I saw Moonspell and Devildriver (their 1st tour) open for Opeth. Still one of my favorite concerts ever, especially since the played The Moor, one of my all time favorite songs. Red Rocks was my 3rd time seeing them, tying them with Lamb of God as the band I've seen the most live.🤘

    Their live audio guy is incredible. I've seen them loads of times at my local venue which has notoriously bad sound and every time they have had the best live sound of any band I've seen anywhere (and I've seen hundreds over the last 35 years) Not always as good at festivals for obvious reasons, but their own shows have always been impeccable.

    This was one of my favourite venues I went to to go see Opeth. It’s super steep the way the music hits off the rocks makes the song ohhhh sooo much more alive. A lot of the time when listening I close my eyes and let the music take me wherever it goes. I’m a extremely visual person. So this band has always spoken to me in ways some bands don’t. This band is the reason I picked up a Guitar. I’ve always played piano growing up. So I now play both. I can play a few of their songs. I’m glad I came across this channel

    So good to see you reacting to Opeth! Some personal favorites that I would suggest are Bleak, When, Demon of the Fall, Godheads Lament, Moonlapse Vertigo and if you want heavy.. then give a listen to Heir Apparent. But all this said, all the old Opeth songs are great, the newer stuff is also good but different.

    • @Moonlapse508

      Great songs, specially "Bleak" and "Moonlapse Vertigo", I would add to the list "The Moor" also from the album "Still Life", now I wonder, can you open a Progressive Metal album in a better way than with "The Moor"?

    I have just one request: If you ever listen to Heir Apparent, do yourself a favor and listen first to coil and then heir apparent without stop inbetween back to back. These two songs might not be lyrically connected, but musically they belong together and enhance each other when taken as one song.

    Give the Deliverance album a spin for some mosh pit action. The songs Wreath and Deliverance are wild! Live wise, anything but the royal albert hall stuff will be a hit (the guy had some vocal issues) cheers man ✌

    Very nice stuff! Man, Opeth's been on my list of bands I really, really need to check out for a long, long time! I've got friends with this as their favourite band, and also think one of my sisters is heavily into them as well. It's weird that I haven't gotten around to it before! :P

      Would "Blackwater Park" fit into this list?

    • @floridabelle
      @floridabelle Год назад +1

      @@Moonlapse508 For many others, yes.
      However, for me, it's not a favorite. I like it, but prefer so many other ones more.

    • @Moonlapse508
      @Moonlapse508 Год назад +1

      @@floridabelle I understand, even with so many great works it's hard to choose between so many. For me, among so many, "Blackwater Park" is Opeth's masterpiece, I'm talking about the title track, not the album itself. Anyway, I think there are more "friendly" and not so dense works to get into the band, like this one: "Ghost of Perdition", or who knows, maybe "Bleak".

    • @floridabelle
      @floridabelle Год назад +1

      @@Moonlapse508 I know I'm in the minority, but I'm not a fan of Bleak either. Although I like Steven Wilson with Porcupine Tree, I don't care for him on this album. I'll take Watershed and Still Life over them all. 🤘🙂🤘

      I personally think blackwater park is pretty similar to this, basic structure is anyway (hard, soft, hard) 🤷🏿‍♂️ And has soooo many meaty riffs it could feed all of the starving population 😂
