Scamcaster lol he makes a album like every 2-3 years at the most and tours on new shit all the time, of course he’s going to have to play chamber of reflections for the rest of his carrer but if he didn’t it would be like going to see the stones and them not playing Satisfaction
Plenty of famous people give up playing their famous song, not sure what +tony salas is talking about. Yeah it sucks for the causal fan (and even mega fans) when you don’t hear the hits but the bands just can’t put themselves though that eventually. Nirvana completely gave up on “Smells Like Teen Spirit” after only a year or so. Bob Dylan barely plays a single recognizable song from his early career. Those are just two famous examples off the top of my head. Almost EVERY BAND won’t play all their famous stuff at a show, usually mostly their new stuff and a few old stuff and maybe one hit and an encore. That’s where the term “fan service” comes from. The band may not enjoy it, but they do it because they love their fans. It’s sad for new fans who never heard the old stuff live but that’s the reality of playing a song for thousands and thousands of times.
Omg i feel the same way, all my “indie” friends swear hes overworked and falling off....overworked yess. But falling off?!?! This man has made his best and most complete music his last two albums and i think this one will blow music lovers minds
If 'Nobody' is anything to go by, I'm pretty excited to hear the studio versions! The he first thing that drew my ear to Demarco wasn't his style of music but rather the way he recorded and produced his tracks - his sound really stands out, and has a seriously good ear for mixing and uses some great techniques. Very notable attention to detail. I think he really is bringing back that super dry snare sound. Sounds beautiful when done right.
Really loving how different the vibe of this song is from everything else Mac has done so far. I was fairly unimpressed by the other new tracks Mac has shown off this month, mostly because they felt like a B-side to This Old Dog (Don't get me wrong, still enjoyable songs).
Yes, because Mac should continue doing the same old slow music for enternity! He really amazed me on this album, mostly because when I first listened to "All of out yesterdays" I thought how similar it sounded to his previous work. Then he goes live on The Echo and peforms what is perhaps his most tasty work yet.
Mac’s just being himself at the end of the day. Not trying to impress anyone . A groovy funk tune about Choo Choo trains may not be for everyone, but I think this slaps. It’s refreshing seeing him dive into other genres, proof that Mac is just versatile and he really has grown as a songwriter. Lots of influences on this album for sure, can’t wait to see what he does next
@@Erik-jv6su i was mad when i found out chamber is a cover song. took me a long time. the song was a huge part i even got into his music and listening to salad days on acid. other than that he's mostly dissapointing
Lol “Next song is chamber of reflection.”
Mac: yeah were not playing that fucking song go home and listen on youtube
Gotta love Mac
They did end up playing it near the end of their set lol
Finally a funk song
ashooby exactly.
Never would have expected it from Mac and my new favorite so far off the new album. FUNKY FRESH
Funky country I guess? After all, Mac is from the funky country called Canada.
His fan base just went from 17 year old white girls to 40 year old micro brewers.
haha
Gabe B. And i couldn’t be happier about that.
... LOL
Ahahahaha
Sounds like Ween
Haha you can tell he's really enjoying playing some new stuff live
he's been playing the same stuff on a loop for almost 7 years

All of our yesterdays is kinda boring but i think its just cause he needed a good chours for a single
Fantastic piece of music, well said it’s an evolution of his music
actually prefer this to the album version cause of the weird improv bits
@@DoubleI662 someone hasn't seen mac demarco live
@@DoubleI662 I preferred this "garbage" to most Jam Band's pointless and boring technical masturbation
macs solo licks have always been top tier and very unique im glad hes showcasing them

I realllllyyyy felt the steely dan in this
what a bop, super groovy
CHOO CHOO
he loves john lennon
I don't agree i think about Elvis Presley and maybe Michael Jackson
Fucking cool guy
the way his music has transformed is phenomenal
I know man, he's like some kind of Canadian David Bowie. He has since recovered from substance abuse and everything.
Hasn't made a good song in 6 years but yeah
Mac's a ripper legend
He needs to make more songs like this .. this is great
This is so much like the early RHCP songs!
Maybe the bass. In that case I'd say bootsy, baby
Sounds like Hey negrita!
I’m gonna lose my mind having to wait to hear the album version of this song. I fucking love it. I hope it sounds nearly the same on the album!
Cody Townley just got my vinyl today and i can assure you it does, i cant wait until its out everywhere
Sort of? It sounds flatter. Out of all the songs on the album it was my least favorite
Egg honestly man I think it’s my favorite so far alongside Finally Alone. Can’t get enough of that CHOO CHOOOO
We need more funk from Mac!
YESSS fuckking loving this song. so damn funky. I WANT MORE FUCKING FUNK JAMS PLEASE MAC THIS IS AMAZING
Gotdayum! That’s a funky groove!
This looks like such a great venue environment I love the lighting too really intimate seeming
Love Alec's Yamaha DX7 label HAHAH
Yeah. Hah. He is playing a Nord.

Who says it's funny? I just wrote that I love it, not that it's fun.
I mean i dont know what the other comment was, but you literally typed "HAHAH" which is typically used to communicate that you found something funny?

This is amazing
THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED IN MY LIFE
Dam is that kirin playin his heart out in the back

Holy fuck I wasn't expecting them to lay down like that, fucking groovy funk
One of the best songs of 2019
Chaffie, your live videos are awesome
"New songs fuckin suck!" The absolute madman

This song has a sweet vibe. I didn't love the other ones at first but they grew on me
that was grovveeeeey
Shit sounding nice live

This and All Of Our Yesterdays live are much better than the studio versions
HE HIT THE FUCKING GONG

Rad dude
He play like fucking legend
could straight up be a 70s clapton track
Wish they had that solo in the album version
Woaah!
i want a tab for this
Dude me to I’m try to ear it out doe I’ll keep you in the loop
This is higher level of hipster'ess :P and i love it, bro
Hopefully this isn’t like an All of Our Yesterday’s situation and the studio version isn’t heavily dialed back
Icarus Machines or a videotape scenario
kurt2552 I prefer the studio version of videotape actually
Was this the beginning of the set or were they just tuning and joking around mid set?
im also confused
Damn that guitar tone is dirty
funky
Reminds me of the talking heads a little bit
I hear his guitar saying "Peter piper picked a pepper".
This song has a haruomi hosono influence
FUCK ITS SO.GOOD
damn!!
The pipe vibes
wow he brought the red version of the yamaha dx7
Some she's so heavy by the beatles in there!!
what
Have you ever of she’s so heavy by the Beatles? Well the way the vocals are sung on this track, in some spots are like that Beatles song
@@cryptofox5313 Yes, I thought you were talking about the instrumentation haha. Yeah I agree
phishesque
fuck yes baud
Goood
Mac needs a dash of Keller Williams and just unleash a jam when he plays live.
Funky
The studio version ain't got shit on this.
I would like to think this was played on the way to auschwitz on the train….
weirdo
ha kirin j callinan on the shaker
song starts at 1:20
o hi kirin
I have a feeling that these new songs aren’t the actual songs - they’re just jamming
Well you're an idiot.
J.R. Smith ok
Thing is, they are his new actual songs. Just more improvised
If u check on itunes you can see the song names of the ones he hasn’t released yet 😎
yeah i know but still the new shit is horrible
wtf kirin j callinan hahah
no se puede despreciar todo la que provenga de Papá Demarco :v
amén hermano
Does anyone know the dude playing the shaker? He's super familiar looking.
Thought it was Jerry paper at first but now I'm not so sure
Pretty sure that's Kirin J Callinan
People are just going to like what ever he puts out because he’s putting it out. I like a lot of macs work, but his fans are purrrty stupid :)
You can't tell me this ain't groovy dude
agree entirely
who is the dude playing the shaker by andy's head?
I think his name is Mac DeMarco or something like that
am I the only one who won't really be listening to this new album?
Probably yeah
how long will it take you to play it anyways bro like 40 mins tops lmao pussy
There's no point hiding it guys, this song is so wack
Zak Custis I politely disagree
agree it’s horrible - mac can do better than that
