I was a guitar teacher at a music school for two years (only left because of COVID). I have taught people of all ages, races, genders, religions, sexualities, and just knowing that I might have contributed for people to live moments like the one this young man lived in the video legitimately fills my heart with joy. This kid absolutely killed it!!

I randomly met Mac at the Arc Light in Hollywood, I was freaking out to say the least. He’s such a cool dude. After talking for about 5-10 minutes. We were saying our goodbyes, when he gave me his email and invited me to watch him play at the Greek Theater. He got me VIP passes for me and a few friends. He’s a genuine guy. LOVE THIS MAN!

I've been recommended this specific video for as long as I can remember, I think the first time was in grade 7 and I had no idea who Mac DeMarco was, I've recently graduated high school and I've recently gotten into Mac Demarco's music. Finally, after 6 years I'm watching this vid for the first time. You are one lucky guy and, that was pretty cool.
Mac switching the pickup to neck at 2:33 is amazing, just such a great moment of smiles all around. You can see that kid going “SO THATS HOW HE GOT THAT TONE!” Because he’s clearly familiar with the part, but not Mac’s nuance.
i think he might've flipped it by accident bc if u listen to 1:49, the tone sounds like it's from the neck pickup
oh and yk how strats have these awkwardly placed pickup switches that could easily be switched by accident when strumming
