I've subscribed to iCloud+ 200GB for a few years and I love how well it synces my photos accross all my devices. Photos and videos are filled with sooo many memories that I'd like to keep for the rest of my life and knowing they are safe whatever happends to my phone or other devices just makes it soooo worth it for me.
I got icloud+ too since i dont have too many photos or videos i used 50 gbs i had enough storage to backup my ipad so i did and icloud+ synced my photos and gave me more storage and when i turned on syncing photos it also bringed back my pernament deleted photos which i accidentally pernamet deleted good for 50 as well like a had 100 photos and videos and i couldnt sync them now i can
I used to have that kind of problem, so I did what you are saying here and it actually worked pretty well. Also I've got enough storage for my family to use it as well. 2 TB is a huge difference for us. Plenty of space. Not even filled 50% of it. Economically speaking, it is worth it just for 9.99$ or € in my case. The amount of money saved while using it for 3 iPhones without spending the money for the full 1TB iPhone model. Great video as always. 😀😀
One annoying thing is that the iPhone 14 Pro only can shoot ProRes 4K if you have at least 265GBs of storage. I only found out about this after I already bought the 14 Pro with 128GBs. Keep that in mind if you consider buying the iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max.
It also takes up insane amount of space. Considering 128gb would always be pretty full even with iCloud that'd make prores quite useless. Maybe 5min of filming.
One thing to keep in mind is your data plan. In Germany, we still have limited amount of GB per month. If all is used up the download speed is reduced to 32/64 kbps
OMG thank you so much this really helped me. Am a new youtube fitness content creator on RUclips and i was really suffering with space😩, had to buy a san disk but was only helpful for a few days, and the problem reoccured again, it was frustrating 😭and taking up my time. Then i stumbled across this video, upgraded to 50GB and problem is solved. Thank you so much🥰🙏🙏, this was really helpful.
I wanna know something, if I buy 50 GB & I don’t renew my subscription, will they delete or hold my photo if I fail to make the payment by end of the month ???
So, i got he 200GB iCloud+ plan, seems to be done syncing but i still have got 128GB worth of photos/videos... i don't think it's working like you said. Any ideas why? :/
I got the 1TB model and after 2 weeks of having my very first iphone I got the "storage nearly full" warning. Seams strange that it automatically started moving my videos and photos from my iphone to icloud without tell me. Now I'm skeptical of this "iphone has better security" claim. So I turned off icloud.
I have almost no apps on my phone and have a 2TB plan shared with my friends and partner, still always out of storage. Most of it is "iOS" and "System Data". Actually 1/3 of my storage is taken by items I can't even see. Along with that, messages takes a big chunk but it shouldn't really matter if iOS didn't cache so many files or whatever it is that is taking 52.57GB on my 128GB unit.
I have the 2TB plan and 3.3GB of photos and that message always pops up to me. I am extremely mad because I’m spending that money and it is not helping me.
I'm testing out this new gadget, the "iRe5" Storage Case, and it's like a storage savior for my iPhone. It's zipping along with its lightning-fast transfers. But hey, I'm still playing it safe with backups for my vital files, just in case this card decides to take a nap or goes AWOL. Not that I think it'll happen, but better safe than sorry, right? The iRe5 storage case is giving me a pretty sweet ride so far. iCloud is still my backup plan to backup my iPhone.😂
What happens to our photos if we didn’t pay for a month? Do we lose our photos from cloud or just losing an access until you pay again for another month whenever?
Basically syncing to the service will stop. You can access your files/photos but syncing will stop and you can't upload anything new until you pay. Policy seems to be the same at least for google drive/photos, Icloud and dropbox
I use Google drive/photos for the same thing but loose out on those cool features but I hardly go back to old photos and use my pc in those cases. It’s a no for me. Great option tho.
What does happen if I stoped paying for icloud+ then after a few months I will start paying again? will I sill have the old photos I have when I was paying for icloud+
On my phone I have done the same but the Photos app still uses up 15GB of space on the phone (with 215GB on the cloud) Any idea how I might reduce this?
As long as you have 'Optimise Storage' turned on in the Photos app settings, it will reduce the amount of locally stored media as other things on your phone require that space.
Because stupid people like me still buy it They're really crazy with their storage pricing. It's unfortunate. Lot of people suffer because they don't have enough storage because they didn't buy more because prices are outrageous. Which also makes them upgrade sooner making Apple even more money.
It’s cheaper to buy your own cloud. Western digital iCloud. Then you don’t have to pay every month. By the time your done for the year at 9.00 a month. You basically paid for your own cloud.
Backup resilience is important too. What if your Western Digital hardware failed? You could lose your precious photos and other data. Good to have multiple copies in multiple locations, e.g. in case of a fire, flood or whatever.
@@chrisw3327 I’ve had my hard drive for more than 10 years I haven’t had a problem with it. But I do have SSDs as back ups. Apple servers are not impenetrable. Nothing last forever but at least on the fly you were able to pull files and photos on the go without overloading your phone.
My main storage hogs are Netflix, Amazon Prime video, Audible & Spotify. I like downloading the full season of a show at a time. It makes sense for me to have a 128gb or 256gb. I just have a 64gb now
Or you can save your money and not put local files out on the internet. What you can do is use time machine on your laptop n back that up onto a hard drive so you have everything saved without having to spend 10 dolalrs every single month. All you do is; you plug the phone into the computer and do iTunes back up. so iCloud basically 2TB for 9.99 a month, lets say the average person keeps there iPhone for 2-3 years (I don't) so for 2 years thats $239.76 and 3 years thats $359.64. Meanwhile a 1 TB iPhone 14 pro is 1499.99 before taxes and a iPhone 14 pro max is 1599.99 before taxes....Sure Apple wins either way but iCloud is the smartest option if space on your phone is the main concern
My iCloud is not full but apple says that I MUST upgrade my iCloud storage to 2TB before it will sync and store more. Apple is such a predatory company. Essentially they are increasing the price by 450% for no reason. I’m done with them, back to the Android 👋👋👋Bye rotten Apple 🍎
Do math. You can have 5 years of cloud storage for the price of the physical storage. And the cloud you can share between devices and family. And also it's a backup people should have anyway.
I have a feeling there will come a day where they get so much flack for having just 5 GB that they will eventually change it. There will come a day. But that day is not today.
Increasing base storage by 10GB to a total of 15GB, means that, multiplied by at least hundreds of millions of iCloud accounts, apple would need to provision billions of GB. There’s no way Apple spends the huge amounts of money to add and maintain Exabytes of server storage space, just so that users can have a little extra free storage. And the thing is, even if apple did decide to give people free storage for charity, people will still complain “why not 20” or “why not 30”.
