My thoughts, exactly! Also the Cutlass from that same era. Although it’s a sporty-looking truck, that classic grille adds the right touch of elegance - especially with those wheels.

These new headlights look kind of weird. The old ones looked oversized into little cheap but they didn't look weird.

@Alexgudmusic mainly because of the lesser build quality,detail, and reliability compared to older models; the distracting tablets in the dash that remove buttons, knobs and shift sticks; the beeps and boops from all the sensors and the other crutches that keep people who shouldn't be driving on the road, the crazy dealer markup; and much more. I'd rather buy an actual SVT Lightning than this new Maverick, I don't care how good it looks. Older vehicles are better in most categories than newer ones, besides in technological advancement ls obviously.

It’s hard for me to see, is the upper grille open? That and the Mach E Rally wheels just make me wonder if it might be an EV. Probably not though.

You forgot to mention there’s a front bumper parking sensors. Also they have widened the angel for the sensor on the windshield to give the driving more accuracy when using cruise control. I own a 2024 Maverick Lariate and I’ve noticed on cruise control the truck does shift lightly to the left and right. The sensor on the wind sheet angel not wide enough to read the road lane marks to keep the vehicle in lane when driving. I don’t know if any of the car reviewers have ever noticed or mentioned that since the ford maverick came out. Thanks for the great video bud.
Not a big fan of pick-ups, but I've always loved the SVT F-150 Lightning and this one is looks-wise pretty close to that, this looks great

Maybe the car you are thinking of is a 1986 Buick Regal/Grand National (for the similar-ish grill).
Maybe there is another car with something similar...but that is what I thought of.

10x better than current maverick. smallest truck with big ass headlight ruined proportions but now they balanced it well. still missing previous gen of ranger.

I'm thinking a Ford version of the GMC Syclone, AWD and rather overpowered for its size. Now if this is the Mavrick Lobo I would think it's going to have a bigger powerplant under the hood. they could toss the Focus RS motor in it and have quite the Hot Rod and if they put the manual 6-speed in it, BIG fun. I hate the wheels; they look like cheap Chinese Sparco/OZ Racing Rallye knockoffs. Put the Focus ST Snowflakes on it and it would look slick!
I like the 90's vibe just enough to not dislike it. it looks a little low for a truck
But,trucks like these look amazing when low, take the old lightnings for example, take the rams and silverdoes of the sort as examples too, they're kinda low, and it suits them

The FLAP to me is alarming. It looks like one of those masks injured soldiers used to wear to hide disfiguring injuries. Wheels are cool though. Your design is MUCH better.

Looks horrible. Looks like they just glued on a U-shaped body panel around the grill which appears to cover up the headlights rather than have an aesthetic design around them. Absolutely hideous.
