And no mention of the dual bottle openers on the tailgate.
“AWD? Hybrid will NEVER let you have that!”
Waits 5 weeks for 2025…
Thank goodness!
Thanks for the quick review I have a hybrid and love it I don’t need to go off roading
Good choice!
Perelli scorpion didn't help. You should have opted for the optional P235 gives different rims but you get Falken wildpeaks which has a more aggressive tread. Along with raising ground clearance up about a 1/4 inch from the P225. The FX4 package has a lot for the money. The 6.5 productivity screen but also in settings offers an off road screen that shows % of hill but also where the power is going to each wheel. Its a great little truck and its at home in the city, farm, ranch and off road. Then you commented on how much room is in the cab and the payload capabilities. Surprised you touched on but didn't comment on how much better the ride is instead of beating yourself up with other trucks. Also how much easier the Maverick is for getting in and out of the cab as well as the bed. Its a game changer might be why they cant keep them on the lot.
Probably one of the most aggressive tires you can get other than the ko2 is to get to 245 65 17 (they fit) venom terra hunter . Very inexpensive too.
@@off-roadingexplained8417 Probably but I was referring to from Ford or stock. They offer P235 AT as an option, they don't offer P245 tires as an option. I don't think they own the majority of vehicles they make videos of. That being said they should be able to request certain configurations from the factory or dealership.
@@HuronRiver-ke8xn yeah I've just heard people say the 245 65 17 fits , probably with the 2 inch + lift.
@@HuronRiver-ke8xnrequest if they manage to find a dealership with a maverick in stock, I got lucky getting this variant as they had just gotten three, and the other two sold the very day. Yoinked it and am happy but could use better tires like the venoms listed
The biggest hill in Texas
Working with that we have!
Seems their AWD system isn't that great
its the tires
@@kidamere2408 still unimpressive from the videos I've seen. Awd seems like a gimmick for this sort of vehicle
@thndr_5468 it's not a off road vehicle but works great in the snow i
First off, I'm not buying an AWD Mavrick to go off road other than a Gravel Road or a lawn. The Tremor and 4XF packages are useless as far as I'm concerned. This is not a Body on Frame truck, it's an SUV with an open trunk.
The fx package upgrades the radiator and fan as well. Same as the tow package.
Mine came with the Falken Wildpeaks and would climb that hill with no problem. Also with a Maverick Turn OFF the traction control and put it in sand mode.
First it works better in Sand Mode , then Put some real tires like K03’s or Terra Grappler 245’s up to 265’s and it’ll have a chance. 2 inch lift and it’ll make it way easier. Pirelli’s definitely has to go
That. Is my favorite Maverick. Mine is missing the 4k tow, but for a MTB guy I'll probably never tow anything. But I have hauled 4 MTB riders and bikes/gear. Including a 6' 4" guy in the back seat. That is success for me.
That’s a huge win!
I'm also a MTB guy and just ordered my 2025 FX4 maverick in green without 4k towing a little over 2 weeks ago
Those tires look like they suck for an FX4 off road package, I mean if they made the fx4 too equipped there would be no reason to see Maverick Tremors
Full pass, barely though. It's a great bargain for someone who needs a little truck and stays mostly in the city! Thanks for yet another great review
Agreed. Embarrassing off road performance.
@@robertyoung8289 its a unibody without a locking diff with 8.6 inches of clearance. What did you expect?
I disagree, I bought it specifically because I don't live in the city. It's a 20 mile drive for me to go basically anywhere and my half ton was killing me in gas.
@@robertyoung8289what's embarrassing is people paying 1200$ a month for 1/2 tons they don't use for their intended purpose lol.
@@skeeterjames912 So you spent 30k give or take to save gas? 30k buys alot of fuel my friend.
I have the LX 2.0 8 speed teans with the tow package with spray bed an bed cover its a great little truck i could not bring myself to speed 3600.00 more just for wheels an tires its pretty loaded for 26000
When you're spinning and then the Maverick's system figures it out and you start to move, NEVER let up or you lose your momentum. And once that happens you may never make it up your hill. You did it three times (9:30; 9:37; and 9:40. But since the Maverick is BA, you you still made it.
Better payload than the tacoma 😂
At least it has better gas mileage 😅
The perfect “just in case” vehicle.
Use low gear
My wife has almost this exact configuration. Hers is in the Terrain paint. It does what she wanted it for. The "L" button in the center of the dial shifter gives you a slightly lower gearing, if needed.
LOL. nice driving.
Why isn't there a locking diff on the FX4 Maverick ... it's the only FX4 that I can think of that doesn't have a locker.
Trying to get people to pay for the Tremor.
Because you need to buy the Tremor version for that.
Tremor has it
Just a guess they offer the 4k tow with the FX4. On the other hand you can not get the 4k tow on the tremor. Not sure if it's the different differential or the lack of high capacity radiator and upgraded fan on the Tremor package. Still to be able to get FX4, 4k tow with P235 AT tires is still pretty impressive with the intelligent AWD system. I had to forgo the Tremor because of the 4k tow and I wanted to make sure I got the high capacity radiator and upgraded fan for longevity, also didn't want to take a 200lb hit on payload capabilities or 5 mpg on hwy fuel economy. Lot of videos out there showing the FX4 off road and in snow and tackling hills like this one. In other words a pretty capable truck on and off road for the majority of owners. I also didn't want the tremors ride many have mentioned it being softer but actually has more roll, similar to other trucks.
Could you swap the locking rear diff from Tremor into an FX4? Would it be plug and play or require custom fab or electronics work?
Could you swap the locking rear diff from Tremor into an FX4? Would it be plug and play or require custom fab or electronics work?
It would certainly bolt in. But calibration and electronics are another story.
Love my Maverick, hate the recalls
Just bought one with 9k miles on it ... and three outstanding recalls. A little annoying, but they're mostly software fixes. I LOVE this truck!
Jeep Patriot four-wheel drive is a lot better never gets stuck anywhere
But who would buy from stellanis, an Italian company. It’s a POS
Well, we learned that Fx4 is fine on a F150 or Ranger. But if you're off roading a Maverick...get the Tremor!
dont get a maverick any trim if your actually off roading
Same size tires that's on my Mazda cx50
About what you should expect from an SUV. Fun vehicle, looks good, priced right, etc. but it isn't really a "truck" and buyers shouldn't expect it to give you all of the functionality of a truck.
Perhaps you should look up the definition of a pick up truck.

@@dannyalley3753 Its a pickup. It's not a truck.
Who buys a maverick to off road?
