    I've been enjoying the Shreddage Jupiter since I bought it last year. The sound is just right. I used in my latest song and people thought I had recorded my real Ibanez guitar.

    Holymoly, I just loaded the MIDI files into my DAW. I don't have Jupiter & Rogue, but I have Hydra and it sounds amazing with the rhythm MIDI. It's great to have this as an example that allows me to see how the keyswitches and velocity should be used properly with this Kontakt library.

    All the guitars in my song Colonize Space or Die Trying are made with ISW software 👍
    And honestly, I've gotten even better at programming MIDI these days, the songs I'm working on now are even better.
    ISW are my go-to for metal, I recreated dozens of metal riffs with their stuff when testing it and the triplets and fast notes never sounded robotic.

    I’m sure it’s completely obvious, but what is eluding me so far is how to apply note articulations in step mode on the piano roll. I hope you address that. Thanks.

    • @lildenby
      @lildenby 5 месяцев назад

      I've never used this software, but generally with these types of plugins, there's a separate part of the keyboard that is "key switches" that you will also draw in with the midinotes that apply articulation. See how some of the keyboard is different colors? That will be stuff like "c0 is plan mute C#0 is harmonic DO is bend" etc etc. he starts explaining it like a minute or two in.

    I really wish those keyswitches would show up on the keys in fl studios piano roll. Would make it so much easier to remember what is what. Maybe that's something that could be worked on together with image-line (well maybe it's native instruments who should work with them and not you but still).

    My current issue is that I want to do a root+octave style power chord.
    This would be E3+E4 in this case so I put down an E3 in the midi piano roll and when I play the single note it will be played on the high A string 7th fret which I where I want it, great!
    The moment I add the E4 the problems start.
    When I do that the engine decides to play it on the low A and low E string, at the end of the fret board.
    This gets me a very undesirable tone and sounds awful.
    I've tried to mess with the force string option but no matter what I choose it keeps going to the low A and low E.
    I've tried different picking modes, fretting modes, hand positions, hand sizes, min and max preferred frets but nothing gets the notes to play in the place I want them.
    When I remove the E4 from the piano roll and only play the E3 it works flawless any time.
    I have no clue how to get Shreddage to behave as I want it to, does anyone have an idea?

    • @ImpactSoundworksLLC
      @ImpactSoundworksLLC  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! I'd say in the ballpark of 4-5 hours, keeping in mind that *most* of that was playing around with the actual writing. If I were to delete the project and remake it, with my memory of the melodies, harmonies, etc, it would be much faster, more like 60-90 minutes.

      @@ImpactSoundworksLLC thanks Andrew….. I produce quite a bit f singer/ songwriter material and would like to use more virtual guitar in my productions. Time always seems to be the big issue. The learning curve on virtual guitars is pretty high especially when it comes to getting the realism that you’ve gotten. Tedious work. Looking forward to parts 2 and 3.

    I don't know why but I still think the original Shreddage 2 is way better than anything they've come up with after that, specially for palm mutting riffs or breakdowns.

    • @ImpactSoundworksLLC
      @ImpactSoundworksLLC  3 месяца назад +1

      The samples in Shreddage 3 Jupiter are identical to those in Shreddage 2 - any differences just come down to the default settings, which in S3 are designed for keyswitches rather than velocity-switching. However if you prefer velocity-switched articulations, you can do a one-time setup of sustains and mutes (it takes about 1 minute!) then resave the NKI and you never have to touch it again. You can also match the sample offset and mute tightness to Shreddage 2 exactly and get a 1:1 identical sound if you prefer. The main reason for the tweaks is that the S2 defaults were not as good for lead playing, and we wanted a default layout that would work well for rhythm AND lead while still allowing you to customize it however you want.

  • @davidvierabarreras

    FL Studio definitely needs an option to be able to map the instruments, something as simple as a right click on the keys of the piano roll and have the option to rename and color the keys that are keyswitches.... I don't know why they are such ba%$·%$·ds that they didn't just include it.

    • @ImpactSoundworksLLC
      @ImpactSoundworksLLC  11 месяцев назад +3

      Yeah, keyswitch text would be a nice feature. But with a little memorization it's not so bad. Alternatively you can use a velocity-based approach. -AA

       @Metazori ... Sorry, but... Perhaps your ignorance is greater than a thousand worlds.... Because, in that case, Studio One (with Sound Variations), Cubase (with Expression Maps), Reaper (with Rearticulate), Cakewalk (with Custom Map), and Logic (with Articulation Sets) are merely toys. 😛

    • @davidvierabarreras
      @davidvierabarreras 11 месяцев назад

      And... I'm sure I have a few more years than you, but I won't get into the absurd dilemma... A DAW should be designed for both pros and novices, and the idea is that it should be a tool that facilitates our creativity... When you're using many Kontakt, UVI instruments with complex articulations, a drum library like Superior Drummer (which has over 50 articulations), plus all the CC's... Believe me, having visual information about the keyswitches would be like 'freeing up RAM for the brain".@@Metazori
