Lastly, not so many 21st century Christians read and talk about the Puritans and older theologians - many hardly read their Bibles on a regular, disciplined basis and understand and apply what it says, so much less do they handle ancient, lofty-speeched theologians' analysis of it. Jesus is himself the Treasure in the field and pearl of grest price, and the approach of Christian hedonism in relation to him is almost like a special delivery mailed in secret to a relative few in the body, though all are loved, being sanctified and presevered, and guaranteed Heaven. The church is paying dearly, and will continue to pay, for our communicating this falsehood year after year.” (Piper? Really? Churches aren’t supposed to protect life?
