I saw this truck at norwalk parked behind the Ford semi, i really like it. I grew up with GM cars and trucks but im slowly converting myself over to the dark side. Kudos to ford for even making something like this available.
Sorry to tell you, you can't compare Dodge or Chevy trucks to Ford trucks.

Great information. It appears Ford is set on performance mode. The package price especially on a base F150 gives you a fantastic street or strip truck with a factory warranty. If you're wanting a truck with 700 horsepower but luxury included. That options also available. Great channel REVan. Looking forward to what's coming next from Ford.
I wish they still offered the original SVT Lightning, asphalt-focused high-performance F-150, from factory.
This is as close to that original formula as it gets. I'm glad they're offering this kit.
The cool thing is that this applies to nearly any version of the F-150 that is available (except for Tremor and King Ranch, from what I've read).
At a time when Ice performance vehicles are ending like the Camaro, Challenger and Charger This is completely unexpected. The last 2000 lightning with a supercharger had 380 horsepower compared to the 700 in these new versions. Even the Lightning EV has more horsepower (563) than it's previous namesake. Visit some auctions like Barrett Jackson and purchase either a 1999 or 2000 since previous models had less horsepower.
@@DWH300 I know. But if Ford still offered the Lightning using the original formula, supercharged gasoline V8, for the asphalt...without a doubt it would be basically the Raptor R in terms of horsepower/torque.
The same way an asphalt-focused TRX would've beeb the spiritual successor to the SRT-10.
@@Roddy_ZehWhile making passes during test and tune. I watched a Raptor R beat a TRX at the track I run every weekend. Ford built the limited production Raptor R as a Baja truck that costs over $100,000. Considering the suspension and 37" tires the Raptor R uses. It's obviously fast, but not as a drag truck. This $12,000 Ford performance F150 Coyote package is fantastic turning and a 5.0 Coyote F150 into a 700 horsepower beast especially on a lite weight single cab for a fraction of the cost that Raptor R or TRX sales for. Definitely something i would consider.

@DWH300 The last Lightning was made in 2004, not 2000. You got the horsepower numbers wrong too. The 99 and 2000 Lightnings were rated at 360 horsepower. 01-04 Lightnings were rated at 380. When you act like some sort of expert, make sure you know what you're talking about.
Evan I was a subscriber to mm&ff in early 90s. Used to write letters to motor trend complaining about Chevy favoritism. I’ve had 8 mustangs and just supercharged my f150. Huge fan and live ford through and through. Thanks for all you do.

The strange think no one mentions is roush has been building these for years on shortbed f150, 775 hp. I have 2, called nitemares, suspension, brembos ,exhaust, custom seats.grills etc
First one I paid 52k. Now Ford bolting charger on but no frills.
Most buyers are looking for straight line speed in a basic lite weight F150.
Now we need an option to get the center console, leather seats, power rear window and updated digital dash and center screen.... in other words the LARIAT options please. I've already built my FP700 but this is so nice to see this being offered!!

I have a loaded Roush XLT F150, but mine is warrantied through my dealership with the whipple at 800hp and 700ft/lbs...it's a blast to drive 😊
Evan have you seen that factory five f150 tube chassis kit? Total raptor eater. Definitely will be a neat thing to build for any car guy.

Will you put a manual behind it? Why does ford not make a modular transmission from auto to manual. Other wise have a manual and automatic share the Gus’s and just change the housing for the top load shifting?
Now just offer a 5.0 V8 option for an suv like expedition and make this kit available for that would be sweet
They need to do this to the Expedition as well. The v6 just can't cut it sometimes.

What is a post title deal? And how can I get one? I just purchased a 2023 Rocky Ridge F-150 and would love to add this FP700 package to it. Can post title deals be financed? Or Cash/Credit only?
I wonder how it affects the towing? Most supercharged trucks are not recommended for towing, or at least the tow rating is decreased.

Why not just offer the predator GT500 engine option 🤔 Then the consumers could tune 1000 hp safely that would boost sales for sure boost equals boost in sales in these legendary horse power wars The predator engine is the king dog while you’re playing with the 5 L
Folks already barking about dealer markups and cost. The Predator option would narrow that market way down.
Keep the grill, stripes, fender badges and floor mats, charge reasonable install time on the whipple, and Id consider paying 6-6500. I dont know of any stealeships id trust with ANY ugrade or repair

Im fixing to get one, my nephew just got his, it is a little on the dangerous side for sombody who does not know how to drive. He wished he would have got the 4x4 version. Being a 2wd.. its just a tire smoker if you push that peddle to much and that ass end will come around on you!

Does not include install. Would need to see what book time(hours) is for install for cost. Take a guess what you get 🥒💦😰
The kit includes a good bunch of stuff 3.0L Whipple, tailgate lettering (bronze or black), fender vent kit, black lug nut kit, carpeted floor mat set, black painted grille, FPP slim license plate frame, bedside graphics (bronze or matte black), 22-inch wheels (bronze or black machined face), FP700 interior badge, and F-150 rear lowering kit.
my guess would be $3 to $4 k install min
if getting a new truck then you might be better off getting Roush to mod it. Heck my buddy got from TX got a single cab two door with a 5L. It had a Roush(whipple) super charger and makes 705 hp and he gets 35 ft/lbs more torque. It cost him $47 K and change plus fees. With a few less options he could of got one for $45 K
I'm impressed that Ford has the balls to build this. Now I would love to see a 2 door shortbed Raptor R and a V8 Bronco. Maybe that will motivate Ram to make a 2 door TRX and maybe GM will actually decide to try to compete with them.

The 700 hp is Great !! Though you have to be able to Stop that Horsepower too. Single Factory Base Package Brakes are scary... Roush does it Right
For less money, I’d find I nice gen 2 truck and beef up the 6r80, do some opg’s, a triple pump fuel system, some 1300’s and the same whipple on e85. Would get 900-1000 np.
This is fomoco chance to take out ram, GMC, Chevy and Toyota. Fomoco needs to bring back the Ford Taurus voodoo V8 AWD edition.

Evan, you need to get behind the wheel and post a timeslip. I have bled Ford Blue for many years and their advertising leaves a little to be desired. The Dodge camp really grabs your attention with their commercials. Ford often seems more interested in the money side instead of posting real timeslips.

Can’t even afford the shit they are selling now can only imagine how much mark up this thing going to have. Decided to check out other makes so went to a GM dealer and the salesman tried to sell me a full size truck with a 4 CYLINDER for 64K, I’m going to be in my 2016 f-150 for a long time at these prices
One of the few smart decisions by Ford the last few years.
Credit where credit is due..Kinda makes it pointless to get a Raptor, especially if you cannot tune a Raptor.
Raptor is more for off road, this is a street truck.....

They’ve actually been offering this for a while in a regular cab Shelby so I’m confused why the thumbnail stating it like it’s something just happened
It's new for Ford Performance as a complete kit and far more affordable than the Shelby product.
Shelby product with all of its stickers and badges will sell for 100K. FP700 will cost much less.

Million-dollar question here. Mentioned that is a post-title mod/transaction. So, would an insurance company know this puppy is supercharged when you get a quote, since the VIN won't reflect that? I mean, does Ford add that into some database somewhere? I can buy one for cash, but the insurance would probably skewer me on a 700-horse vehicle.
Insurance is based off of vin only.
I'm not concerned about gas or insurance price when I'm buying any vehicle. If you are, don't even consider buying it. FYI, insurance companies aren't

Can be had in 4x4 and Ford Performance offers a lowering kit or you can have your dealership do IHC or VAS lowering kits.

SVT was way cooler. Ford Performance is boring. And I agree, leave the four doors.
SVT was special and such a cool brand that spoke to automotive enthusiasts like M-series for BMW or AMG.

I disagree about the color - I think it's dull. My biggest complaint with Ford is their exterior colors. They're all so goddamned boring. The same greys, blacks. blues and white they've been for years. No greens, no browns; just no variety. In the 70's and 80's you had choice of a dozen or more hues. Now, there's every chance you'll see 2 or 3 trucks identical to yours on your commute.
