Imagine living in the USA and believing that your free
You don't own anything. A judge can sign a piece of paper and take it all. Any barney fife can take all your cash and other valuables through asset forfeiture without a judge.
Driving a commercial vehicle for business/profit then yes we are not free. You would think all the diesel fuel tax we pay would be enough but it's all about tax tax tax.

@@davidroberts6594 it's because truckers tend to be at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder. The NTSB doesn't treat pilots the way it treats truckers. They allow them to have a higher blood pressure and they don't take their license away if their medical lapses.

I totally understand that we have to have our equipment in good condition and some mfkrs are cheap , lazy , stpd that do not maintain their equipment and those guys should be banned from owning a trucking business . BUT , to let FMCSA discrete how many hrs we must stay in bed , when to stop and when to drive ???? Are we fkn stpd ???
We do not need ELD imposed by the federal government guys at less they build special roads for trucks only , a less shippers and receivers are on time !!!!! A less we drive only when is sunny and clear weather !!!
We must get together a fight against this nonsense mandate . It is killing drivers , causing health issues , stress and most importantly , it is killing the entrepreneur spirit.
If everyone threw their ELD out window, there's nothing fmcsa could do about it.
All I want to do is destroy my equipment on these bad roads trying to deliver cheap freight to shippers/receivers who don't care about my time,....and now they want to know my longitude and latitude? They can't even fix a bad road that never moves at all on this planet with my IFTA donation.
Yikes we pay all these taxes and still they govern which lane trucks are allowed to be in. More money for them to send to Ukraine instead of fixing the washboard US 165 highway in Louisiana

I have caught my ELD making incorrect mileage recordings for states. I think it is a flaw when using GPS recordings. Say you drive on a road on the Louisiana/Texas state line going north or south in Louisiana. I’ve caught mine registering some of those miles as Texas miles. It’s certified but not necessarily truly accurate in my opinion. Motive has errors but it works for the main purpose.

My Garmin does trip reports and ifta. Is there an issue with this method?
I don't know how Garmin tracks their information..so I can't say for sure.
Is Motive complaint with this new rules?
Yes, at least the current version of Motive's ELD that I have is and will be IFTA and IRP compliant. Search "location history" in the reports menu. Click on that report, adjust date and vehicle filters to your pleasing, and you can view the details there. In the upper right of the report screen there's the three-dotted menu icon. That's where the selected report can be downloaded. Only PDF and CSV options but the CSV file qualifies. Hope this helps

Motive, at least the version I have, is/will be compliant with the new requirements going into effect. I'd definitely suggest every O/O check to make sure theirs is though! Best to be prepared vs caught in a bad way eh
