Its funny, because its been confirmed in the story that Link CAN TALK, he just chooses not to and only likes to speak openly to Zelda

I don't remember him speaking to any of the main characters except for (spoilers) the king at the start
+Slowking Around It's in Zelda's diary in Hyrule Castle. In the diary, Zelda says she finally got Link to open up to her about why he rarely talks, and he told her it was because as the Chosen Hero he felt so much pressure and so many eyes on him that he thought it best to just silently bear any burden he had and put on a brave and stoic front.

Alot of people doing know this but Link CAN ACTUALLY talk. In BOTW Zelda had a diary where she recalls asking Link why he doesn't speak. He he actually speaks to her and says he took a vow of silence the moment he chose to become the Hero. Since there were eyes watching him all the time. He felt like his silence was a way to intimidate his foes and show unwavering resolve in his Quest. He also mentions that he's terrified most of the time and he doesn't want ANYONE to know that. So they can continue to rely on him. So he sucks it up and charges ahead of everyone as a Hero, despite his fears and doubts. So he doesn't speak. Ever. Except to Zelda apparently but that makes sense since he's basically under her command no matter what life he's reborn into. But I love that we got to know that because it adds a level of depth to Link we haven't really seen before. We just assumed he did these things like "Pshh slight work." But really he's just as on edge as we are if not more! He feels the full weight of his situation and his duty and pushes forwards despite it.
Also there is a fact that Quest Log in original JP version was written from first point of view - Link's Point of View. The whole adventure he basically writes a dairy of his exploits AND his opinion on what happened - too bad it was lost in translation.

Link can talk btw. if you read zelda's diary it says she is frustrated that he doesnt talk but in one instance she gets him to talk to her and he says that he doesnt say anything so he can better be the symbol people rely on. if they know he is worried then it will just spread unrest. He has to be silent and strong for everyone else's sake
Yeah, and he talks to other people in the game as well, he just doesn't have dialogue.
Link was never really supposed to be mute, just a mostly-blank slate. He's a cute hero with a sword you can play as.
He talks I know there is no diolog from him but when you talk to someone it 9/10 it give choice what to say

Link DOES talk, he just doesn't have actual dialogue in the games. For example, there is a cutscene in Twilight Princess where link comes back from the ranch on Epona and you can see him moving his mouth taking to Ilia.
