For anyone who didn't even shed a tear once at that last part concerning the scroll that was given to Yu Suzuki doesn't have a heart. This is the most influential game ever to come out of the industry and it's a work of pure genius on so many levels. The Story, The Emotion, The Beauty, The Music, The Culture, The Characters, The Settings, The Designers, The Design. It true was a wonderful piece of fine entertainment that was deemed worthy of creating its own genre all together. If I could play one game, watch one movie, listen to one soundtrack, or read one story for the rest of my entire life, it'll be nothing other then Shenmue!
+Charlie Ward I agree. But still the mainstream did not think so (for shame). It is a weird world out there - one that you will never get the hang of...ever. Kudos to Yu, the man with the heart and soul in what he is doing. Of course I supported him day one on kickstarter!
Awesome work Peter and James! You both conducted a fantastic interview, revealing quite a number of new things :) really impressive! All your hard work has truly paid off, well done lads!
Oh my words, what an amazing video! Thank you all (and Yu) for all your efforts. So wonderful hearing about how things are shaping up + reading the impact of shenmue with fans. :-)
I love how Suzuki-san actually listens to his interpreter and correct him along the day. I haven't seen any other JP developers from Triple A titles do that.
Great video and great interview! The idea of the gift was amazing; and made me feel very emotional once again since E3. I feel very happy to know that Shenmue changed and helped the lives of so many people just like myself. That's why this game will be always my number one video game in my life.
It blows my mind that they haven't even used 20% of all the music they created back then. I hope that Sega makes a Shenmue 1 and 2 HD so we could transfer data the way the series was meant to be enjoyed
Yes I've always loved Shenmue's music, it wouldn't be the same without the original type of songs. I'm really hoping they make Shenmue I and II HD too, it was originally intended for you to transfer your games onto the next.
Very thoughtful interview. I wonder if Yu-san realizes that people prefer the original logo, though? Are there really youth who can't read it? I'm shocked if that is the case.
+Vyse Legendaire It's true. Teachers encourage it and even claim you'll need it for the rest of your life (in 2nd grade), so you use it up to 4th grade and then never again. After that, teachers discourage the use of it and over the course of 8 more years, you eventually forget everything. That's what happens here at least.
Those stories are lovely but did you translate them into Japanese for Yu to read. I'd hate for those stories to be lost on him because he doesn't read english.
Yeah thats true. I think the real issue is if Suzuki-san does keep it, it'd probably not take as long to load compared to the old games. I really feel he should keep them. It's a big part of shenmue!
Yu Suzuki really is a pioneer in gaming.
yep, I'm considering to play shenmue 3.
Yu seems like a wonderful person.
Very emotional. Thanks for you good work!
Ps: I can't wait to see whether or not he includes the loading screen.

Great interview. I'm glad they didn't even try to spoil anything...he is such a visionaire.
Awesome gift BTW. ^ _ ^

Today is a great day.
turn on the subtitles
your welcome
My thought is that alpha brainwaves and VR type stuff is "mendokusai" - I think a controller is the easiest most relaxed way to play a game.
Dont change RYO Jacket . Please! have mercy. Also to others please talk about it. For me its very important, that Ryo is stil as we remember him

I also find it kind of insane, honestly.
How do kids these days sign documents if they don't know cursive?
+ZombifiedDuder To be honest, we/they just use print even for signatures. Just deform it!
Those stories are lovely but did you translate them into Japanese for Yu to read. I'd hate for those stories to be lost on him because he doesn't read english.
Fools you hand a gift with both hands! tsss :P
No need for loading screens anymore? Every modern game I've played still has loading screens...

Don't "english" and "englishman" mean the same thing and if so, is'nt "englishman" like saying england "human human"?
I want Michael Huber of Easy Allies to interview him, not these guys.
+skeetys81 I'm not sure even Huber could handle that much hype. lol
TotemoGaijin You're probably right lol
Thanks for this people, really.
The best for you from Argentina.
