That's actually cool. Wallpaper Engine earned my respect. Though I don't use it , I can use my phone to control my Steam Deck wallpaper whenever I own one.
I always chuckle a bit how the developers added an onboarding “hide anime” button 😅 That category really blew up and basically split the app into two very different audiences. +1 for Wallpaper Engine, well worth the $4!!
hey ETA just wanted to let you know. genshin impact has a bug where the framerate can drop up to 5 or more fps like every 30s to 1min on pc. it looks like it been happening a long while and we don't see any signs of a fix. soo when your doing a test just keep that in mind
Does take a bit of a hit on the CPU and GPU though so if you have a low cost and low powered Windows 10/11 machine, this can take away away from your resources.
Been watching your channel for a long time now, somehow i missed this video when you first did it. And just by chance googled how to for animated backgrounds and your youtube video popped up. Had to watch, and as always great video! Oh, and its great how some of them will put the clock and or the date in the wallpaper as well. Keep up the great work ETA!
Ha! A great reveal and I’ll check out your 2 programs! I’ve been a fan of live wallpapers since I had a Garfield wallpaper from a Windows 98 Plus accessory disk that unfortunately wasn’t compatible with later editions of Windows.
On 3 different computers WallpaperEngine was running 100% cpu usage for me, if you have Razer accessories & this happens goto settings and turn off the Chroma plugin
i love you so mcuh like actually so fricking much !! ive been trying for so long dude its ridiculous i was about to give up after downloading so many apps to set this up but then i came across ur video and i feel like an idiot for how ez it was all this time
OMG!!!!! very helpful! I watched another tutorial and it took me how many hours and didn't work, while yours already worked even not finish the video...
I have the app but quit using it. Some wallpapers depending upon the resolution and intricacy can work your GPU like running a game 24/7. I prefer my hardware to get some downtime when I'm just browsing the web or listening to a podcast. Not burning power for pretty pictures that I can't even play.
@@MattKimura only when in full screen does it not render. If you are working in multiple windows or any time you minimize your browser/game it's running.
Wow thanks for making a video dedicated to this very topic. When are you gonna do a refresh on doing emulation on windows 11. That would be a great topic for a future video. Thanks again.
as someone who got a Ryzen 9 8000 series CPU.. i hardly see my CPU go past 20% even while AAA gaming sooo this is a good way to make my pc look a little more better.
Oh Man!... Very Nice!... Thanks so much for your tip!... I really appreciate... I had a desktop live wallpaper app but stopped and not working! And now I found you talking about MLWpp. I am very happy for this Free app!... Very very grateful!...
I used to set GIFs as wallpapers on Windows XP. I'm pretty sure I didn't use any third party applications for that. On Windows 7 there was a way I used those too. Don't remember though how it was done.
Yo eta I found another teloscopic controller. And im not sure if you seen it but its called a. Mocute gamepad. And it was on aliexpress. It looks good and im intrested. But idk if its gonna be a cheap mess. Review???
I use wallpaper engine on steam. I love it honestly because with my pc fans it can match it so if my wallpapers christmas pepe, it matches the colors. It does cost 10 dollars though.
DeskScapes by StarDock is another option. It came with my Object Desktop license, so I just use that. Same sort of thing ... uses video files for wallpaper with multiple config options.
It seems you only use a single monitor. I use three and I don't think multiple monitors is uncommon anymore. I'm wondering if it plays the same video on all three, or if you can choose different ones for each. If you stop it when gaming, what do your other two monitors look like? I imagine performance triples with multiple monitors as well. It just opens a bunch of questions.
I have a triple monitor setup and use wallpaper engine. You can set them to be synced, but I have mine set to different ones on rotation. The performance hit only happens if the video file it is loading into memory is LARGE (GB's). I've been running WPE for almost 10 years now, never had a single complaint.
i once started building a wallpaper out of owlpoy assets... i tried to make a day and night cycle depending on ur time... it worked but i wanted to add more stuff and lost interessted because i cant really code html lol

No man would say such words. Are you a bot?
@@BridgeWyvern Yes
I like the audio visualizer wallpapers on the Wallpaper Engine. Not that many, but they're pretty good.
I made a few on my steam account
@@microtasker whats your steam name
Wallpaper Engine is worth the $4 (oh and the Android app is free as well)
Thanks ETA.. My son is going to love this
Thanks for the vid!
I was just thinking about this yesterday and then you made a video about it lol
All ways wondering about those wallpapers. Now I know, very cool.

Wallpaper engine is the best 3£ I ever spent 😃 thanks 4 the recommendation

You only need to deactivate it for gaming. Easy setting.
I used Lively Wallpaper long time ago, then used loop relaxing videos from RUclips like rain, waterfall, fireplace.
I do this, it uses way less resources than Wallpaper Engine.
BEEN WAITING THIS FOR SO LONG!

I use the galaxy wallpaper. I like the subtle animations, the stuff with lots of movement is too disorienting for me when on a desktop.
I have it on the lock screen for my Samsung phone but once I'm in the phone i have a solid wallpaper
Nice job, prime...thanks much for these options! 😊👍👍
I always wondered where you got your desktops from. Thanks. I’ll be taking a look at both sites.
I follow U since Pokemo go tips
Good job

Lively wallpaper is also a good free alternative that works well for me.

Lively stopped working a few months ago this is a blessing!

wallpaper engine pauses automatically when you don't have the desktop in focus. It won't run 24/7.
@@MattKimura only when in full screen does it not render. If you are working in multiple windows or any time you minimize your browser/game it's running.
Lively wallpaper will go idle when the desktop cannot be seen. Most are smart enough to not run when the effects can't be seen
Electricity costs going up worldwide coz peeps now leaving PC’s on to flex live wallpapers. 🤦♂️🤣
Thanks for the tutorial, this is just what I wanted to do but haven't gotten to it yet.
thank you for the tutorial i was scared bc it said unknown publisher but it worked

OMG!.. I don't know how many questions i made about the animated wallpapers and i didn't see this video! my bad!... thanks ETA
I remember doing this with Linux in the 90s my question is if this uses a lot of resources now
Finally thank you for this
I keep thinking to ask this on your videos. You read my mind!
A very well explained video, thank you very much :)
Marvelous!! Thank You Men!! Amazing Thing!! I Love that kind off stuff ;D
I was meaning to ask about this. Thanks!
you can use this with vlc player to rip parts of video's an make your own live wallpapers then run the app that way too btw
What's the wallpaper on the monitor called it looks cool
thank you young man u just earned a sub. Much love to you
downloaded engine from steam, it worth that around 3$ you get so good app thanks for video
In case anyone is curious, you can get the paid version of wallpaper engine for free. I won't tell you where, but it rhymes with "the smirate clay"
It doesn't update so you can't use ANY of the Steam created content. Pay the $5.
It's better to pay for $5. Or maybe just wait for the discounted to 1 or 2 bucks in steam
@@microtasker some people don't want to create a steam account and download steam just to change their wallpaper.
@@richarddukard8989 You just contradicted yourself. When you figure out how, respond with a better answer.
@@microtasker I didn't, but either way I don't care. The standalone app is available at the place I mentioned. You have the option to pay, or not. ✌
