It's good. People try to play the way they _think_ they have to play to get attention, rather than be the best player they can be and focus on winning.
I don't think he's trying to fool anyone. I just think he's just trying to keep the media heat off of his players (e.g., unlike teams like Pittsburgh where they've had very talented teams but it's a complete media circus). So, Belichick would rather have all media hate/attention directed towards himself so that his players really don't have to deal with much of it... and they can just focus on doing their job w/o many distractions. It's excellent off of the field gamesmanship.
Nick Saben is the same. How is a guy who has no personality gonna get a bunch of college kids to work that hard? Heres the trick hes actually cool as fuck.
Exactly, he keeps it in house. If he was as boring as the media sees then guys wouldn’t stick around but players love his dry humor to go with his no-bullshit, no nonsense, do your job kind of approach/attitude. I would’ve died to played for a BB or Savanna for any sport. My coach that was closest to them took us to state 3 years in a row, my other sport coaches were replaceable bc winning wasn’t their priority - it showed
When he told ocho straight up that he was getting doubled all day and instead of talking some trash Chad was just like "damn..." Hahaha he knew bill was erasing him from the game
BrunerMJ Being double teamed isn’t exactly something that is hidden in scheme. Immediately after the first play it’ll be obvious if a player will be double teamed or not.
Also Tom sold his soul to the devil and continues to reap the rewards. There is no other logical solution. He is a surgeon. 28-3, Last week against KC in OT, Surgical.
I bet he spent a couple minutes on the 9 yard per carry average the Falcons had.. lol.. They never did stop the run... The Falcons just went away from it when they didn’t have to..
Driving that message into his players' heads, making sure they're all on the same page for the entirety of the game. I'm not even a Pats' fan but fully appreciate his attention to detail. He is why they rarely lose. I can't even remember the last time they lost a game by double digits...
CoDWiiPS3Gameplay Yeah, he won't have to face the Giants in a Super Bowl with Coughlin gone lol Maybe Coughlin comes over to NE? That would be kinda cool

From that point on the Pats went what? 22-0. You are angry. We understand. Who ever your team is has been crushed by the greatest coach in the game over and over. They always will be. Players are the most important assets gotta take care of them. Much respect for this man. They say "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to".
Love seeing Belichick talk about football. These stories from the Giants are great. Love him or hate him, real legends are rare. Belichick is a legendary coach as Brady is a legendary qb.
I'm a Dolphin fan and unlike most Phin fans, I have nothing but respect and admiration for their absurd and unreal dominance!! If they're cheating, Miami should take notes!
As a Bears fan with NO love for New England, I can honestly say GREATEST COACH EVER. The only ones who come close are Halas, Lombardi, Walsh, and Johnson (who would have won several more SB's had he not left Dallas). Brady owes A TON of his success to this guy.
This video is amazing i been watching every Pats game since i was like 10 years young and never get to hear much of Belichick besides the press conferances. Love these videos the intetaction
they like to portray him as some evil villain... or being cold-hearted ... fact is he may make the tough roster decisions that are best for the TEAM, but he truly loves the players that respect the game and loves teaching football. this is the real Belichick... not the stonewall he gives the media
people have the same misconception about Red Auerbach back in the day. They see film of him stomping and shouting so they compare him to Vince Lombardi who treated his players like dirt. The reality is the opposite. Auerbach never yelled at his own guys and he treated his players like men. Belichick is the same, he treats his players like men and he celebrates with them when they win. He only yells when someone screws up, but thats every coach.
Lombardi did not treat his players like dirt. He was stern but compassionate. You are trying to defend an individual who was misunderstood while submitting another to that same treatment; c'mon, man.
he is without a doubt the best coach of all time. if anyone still talks about spygate, they are either haters (likely 40 year olds who live in the mom's basement who think they know football), or little kids. he is a genius in the real sense of the word and not just a grumpy old man, as seen in this video. Thanks for posting!
The part where he said "Catch it with your hands. Don't let it come into you and hit your pads" is where RECHE CALDWELL SHOULD HAVE LISTENED. The Patriots would have FIVE SuperBowls and Peyton Manning ZERO if Reche Caldwell listened to that advice.
+Robert Lei The image of Reche Caldwell's huge bug eyes after dropping the ball thrown right into his numbers in the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship Game still haunts me.
BJMcB92 And it sucks because he made that huge catch the week before against San Diego. Like Welker's drop in Superbowl 46, he made so many catches previously that it made it harder to digest.
I'm not a Patriots fan but I really like this dude and his football acumen. He comes off as droll in press conferences but that's cause you can tell he doesn't like the media too much. In interviews and mic'd up videos like this, he seems like a real personable guy with a great sense of humor. I would be cracking up at him but would play hard as hell for him.
What's truly even more amazing than how legendary of a head coach Belichick is, is the fact that he's also the de facto GM as well. Lump that all with the fact that several of his defensive coordinators were mere signal callers, just surreally shows the vast amount of responsibility he undertakes with this organization, along with near total power and control he has over it's operation. Just crazy. But they say most geniuses are.
Hate all you want. I bet if you had a chance to have Belichick and Brady on your teams in the 2000's, you'd take it in a heartbeat. Anyone who says 'no' obviously doesn't know anything about football or player/coach talents and skills. Those two have been the best at their jobs for the last decade and a half. Even Bob Kraft is top 3 for best owner. This organization is amazing from top to bottom.
Best coach in NFL. I hate how people mention spygate, every team used to scout and send people to the oppositions training sessions the only difference is the Pats got caught
I am not a Patriots fan however, I have such huge RESPECT for what this team does every year. It it’s no secret, that Belichick is a absolute football genius! Not only does he know the game inside and out but his ability to lead his staff and players to the commitment of excellence is jaw-dropping! I am a Dallas fan and have to endure the misery of watching an organization screw it up year after year since Jones ran off Jimmy Johnson! Belichick and Johnson are very close friends and you wonder how he was able to get to and win Superbowls? 23 years since Dallas has been to a Super Bowl but the Patriots threaten every single year! Belichick is the best!
What I like most about bill is his command. Most envy that kind of command over ANYTHING. It’s a sweet thing in life to be in command of one thing, and bill has found his. Superb talent
You can hate Belichick, Brady, and the patriots if you want. But if you do, understand you're not a football fan You simply cannot be a lover of the game of football and hate that organization and the head pieces. Just like you can't love basketball and hate popavich, Duncan, and the Spurs. Royalty in their respective sports have to be respected if you love the game
vihockeyguy1 Exactly! The attacks against this dynasty has made them greater 16 years and counting and anyone who is nieve to think it's anything but greatness! All 32 teams are on an even playing field believe that. Success breeds envy especially in the salary cap era where parity is not suppose to exsist Coach Belichek mastered it and form the only dynasty and team to repeat this millennium and the Salary cap and this will be the final dynasty that will end at two decades! Parity will come into play and as time passes and a decade goes by of all different champions that will be the parity the NFL longed for by installing the cap but the Genius and #Goat figured that code out and spoiled there plans and the league and owners resent them for that and that's why we have had to deal with the bs.
I love how everyone calls Bill a cheater when every coach in the NFL was doing the same exact thing for years prior. The NFL just decided to make an example out of Bill to prove their point to the rest of the league. And also, filming your opponents sideline was legal and considered a part of the game for years before the NFL stepped in.
What he's done this year is nothing short of incredible. The defense is being held together with duct tape and Tom Brady struggled the first half of the year....and the Pats are still winning. Should be Coach of the Year IMO.
Without Tom they would be 5-15 dude LOL. This years pats team was filled with injuries. OF course Tom struggled, Welker was in Denver, Hernandez is in jail, and Gronk was injured most of the time. Brady was throwing to Thompkins,Eldleman, and Dobson. I would love to see Manning or Brees throw to Dobson and Thompkins all year. lol The Pats this year, despite the injuries, was the highest scoring team in the NFL since week 9.
Xavier Vega c'mon dumbass why was he so terrible? lol Because he's throwing to Dobson and Doson is dropping balls left and right. But uh, lets not speak on that right? LOL Because that's what actually happened.
Bill is a guy who simply loves the game and works harder and studied it more than all his peers. Look how cool he is in practice with his guys but he knew when it was time to get in their ears.
what's even funnier is that the Butler interception play was just installed last minute during the defenses walk through inside the hotel the day before the game
"I'm making them run because they had so much energy to fight and they haven't fought since then". Fuckin A, Bill B. Is hilarious. Dude's a lot funnier than ppl give him credit for
The funny thing is almost everyone outside NE hates belichik except I bet none of them would really complain if he became their favorite team's head coach outside maybe the steelers, giants and seahawks.
I'm enjoying this now, Coach Bill & Brady will be gone someday and it probably won't be what it is today. I'd love to spend a few hours talking football with Belichick, imagine all the great stories he could share.
And just think.... This was at the beginning of the 2010's. It's now 2019 and the day after the AFC championship vs the Chiefs and Patriots are going to SB LIII... Imagine how much more knowledge he has, and experience and wisdom
As a Ravens fan, i have so much respect for this guy. He recommended Harbaugh when we needed a coach. I believe Harbaugh built this team and culture uniquely, but there are definitely many aspects of the Patriot way that have been incorporated. Its gonna be one hell of a game Sunday night.
I absolutely love the honesty: "don't get into a quickness game with him, cause you're not very quick..." LFMAO!
Don't out dumb yourself 🤣
Ouch. He won't forget that one.
Exactly
It's good. People try to play the way they _think_ they have to play to get attention, rather than be the best player they can be and focus on winning.
I was typing this...and if you play defensive back with speed and no quickness this is some of the best information one can use
"We had a fight the second day, I made them run since they had so much energy to fight. Havent had a fight since."
Bill musta been my pee wee coach way back in the day cause we herd the same comment back then
Sshh was hilarious

squirting water on the ball in practice because it is supposed to rain during the game, genius!
We're on to Cincinnati.
We are ALWAYS on to Cincinatti!
I’m a life-long Colts fan, and I LOVE Bill Belichick.
He got inside Ochocinco's head!
He does that, to whole teams, I seen a miced up where Billy told a ravens player a bitch or fuck off somthon like dat it was mad funny
@@abk4202020 yeah but the ravens have actually beat the pats in big games, and usually play them pretty tough
The Ancients Way it was adam thielen on the vikings i think. He was chirping and bill told him to fuck off or something
It was a fkn preseason game. And you are full of the brown stuff anyway.
this man's voice is like music. i could listen all day
I like how he remembers a play with Russ Francis probably forty years ago. Would give anything to be in on a game-planning session.
Players are the most important assets gotta take care of them. Much respect for this man. They say "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to".
Belichick is just a genius. Elected to kick against Broncos and whooped them still with the wind.
I was so mad/nervous.. Both teams were playing very well and just to give Peyton the ball. What a game that was
Love seeing Belichick talk about football.
Here in New England, I remember the days before BB...and I nor anyone here is looking forward to those days again. So we enjoy it while we have him...
As a Bears fan with NO love for New England, I can honestly say GREATEST COACH EVER. The only ones who come close are Halas, Lombardi, Walsh, and Johnson (who would have won several more SB's had he not left Dallas).
Brady owes A TON of his success to this guy.
hes so chill and relaxed but hes a serious winning coach, love this guy, hes a great coach, and i love the pats, screw all you haters.
I'm trying to do homework.... and I'm getting distracted by this awesome patriot videos.. I love my team. love bill great coach
HAHAHA saaaaame.
This video is amazing i been watching every Pats game since i was like 10 years young and never get to hear much of Belichick besides the press conferances. Love these videos the intetaction
Chad Johnson at 5:45 😂😂 “damn”
He already knew he was done for the day
Not a patriot fan but I can tell you I enjoy watching this guys man and appreciate greatness.
I never would have thought he was like this. I thought he was cold hearted and shit. Great vid
they like to portray him as some evil villain... or being cold-hearted ... fact is he may make the tough roster decisions that are best for the TEAM, but he truly loves the players that respect the game and loves teaching football. this is the real Belichick... not the stonewall he gives the media
Coaches are there to win....not to be your friend...
He just doesn't like the media, but he's a cool dude with his players.
people have the same misconception about Red Auerbach back in the day.
This has got to be the most emotion I've ever seen from Bill Belichick.
When he's done he WILL be the greatest coach ever
He already is.
he is without a doubt the best coach of all time. if anyone still talks about spygate, they are either haters (likely 40 year olds who live in the mom's basement who think they know football), or little kids. he is a genius in the real sense of the word and not just a grumpy old man, as seen in this video.
R L damn and to think they have 6now
I'm not a Patriots fan but I really like this dude and his football acumen. He comes off as droll in press conferences but that's cause you can tell he doesn't like the media too much. In interviews and mic'd up videos like this, he seems like a real personable guy with a great sense of humor. I would be cracking up at him but would play hard as hell for him.
I love Bill. A better side than what you normally see.
Russ Francis died yesterday in a plane crash. RIP
Players are our most important asset
What's truly even more amazing than how legendary of a head coach Belichick is, is the fact that he's also the de facto GM as well. Lump that all with the fact that several of his defensive coordinators were mere signal callers, just surreally shows the vast amount of responsibility he undertakes with this organization, along with near total power and control he has over it's operation.
Just crazy. But they say most geniuses are.
That hoodie makes him look like Emperor Palpatine.
It makes him look like some homeless slob.
@@sludge4125 That's another way to put it.
That conversation with #91 about "situations" at the 12:04 mark is in the top 5 reasons why this guy is the best there wlil ever be.
"You guys need to stretch. Maybe that's the problem. Too much gossipin' and not enough stretchin'"
I feel like Belicheck deeply enjoys sharing a new family store with his son. Dude isn't emotionless he just has a good poker face
It's finally over, but massive credit to Bill, he had the best run as a head coach the league has ever seen.
Best coach in NFL. I hate how people mention spygate, every team used to scout and send people to the oppositions training sessions the only difference is the Pats got caught
Bullshit. They are the first to cheat and the last. Cause he's a looser and that's all there is to it
Bullshit. They are the first to cheat and the last. Cause he's a looser and that's all there is to it
Timothy Buffington ...4 time Super Bowl Champion as a Head Coach...the Best ever!!!
Basically, you repeated your comment and failed to give any justification to your claim. Good job.
AND IT'S LOSER, YOU FUCKING NEANDERTHAL
Belichick is the best!
this is why you see players be cryin there eyes out at their retirement speeches, cuz of the behind the scene stuff. Love Football!!!
7:38
And you wonder why the Patriots are the greatest of all time?
What I like most about bill is his command. Most envy that kind of command over ANYTHING. It’s a sweet thing in life to be in command of one thing, and bill has found his. Superb talent
to command is one thing but to gain the players utmost senciere respect is something elese
You can hate Belichick, Brady, and the patriots if you want. But if you do, understand you're not a football fan
You simply cannot be a lover of the game of football and hate that organization and the head pieces. Just like you can't love basketball and hate popavich, Duncan, and the Spurs. Royalty in their respective sports have to be respected if you love the game
Facts!
see your wrong I can hate them I just have to respect them
vihockeyguy1 Exactly!
I agree. Id probably murder jay gruden to get bill in DC
The Patriots are not royalty. They are a team of players who want to win at life, not just football.
Man I truly miss playing. Coaches all had a way of talking to you so that you understand.
Every year, every new Superbowl ring, BB's genius becomes more ridiculously obvious.
Ring # 7 for sure.
Perhaps an 8th?
One ring at a time. We're on to 7th ring.
This was by far the BEST BB video I have ever seen, thank you for sharing this, OUT FU*KING STANDING
Wish my team had a great coach, pass rush, and QB. But alas, I’m a Titans fan...
one of the best videos ive seen in a while....NOBODY DOES IT BETTER THAN BELLICHICK!
McCarthy didn't. Caughlin didn't. Most didn't.
Dave Dorger
How do we know they did? hearsay? some player admissions? Just like the ones condemning the Patriots?
911WASanINSIDEjob420 all those titles are tainted. Nice slur you baby.
James Mongillo How about Superbowl 51, was that tainted? BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!
I never thought such a seemingly focused and determined coach on game day would be relaxed during practice sessions. Awesome guy.
Brady is great but this guy is the reason why New England is 10-4
What he's done this year is nothing short of incredible.
***** They went 6-2 in their first 8 games and Brady was terribe during that stretch.
Xavier Vega c'mon dumbass why was he so terrible? lol Because he's throwing to Dobson and Doson is dropping balls left and right. But uh, lets not speak on that right? LOL Because that's what actually happened.
***** Don't argue with stupid people, they'll drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
I could watch this all day. Thanks
he tells the guy straight up you're not very quick lmao
Interesting to hear him talk about hard cadence when offense is on the one yard line. Just like super bowl ending against seahawks.
Joseph Reynolds I was thinking about that clip after the Butler INT.
12:04 Seahawks defense needed this lesson back in Feb.
Bill is a guy who simply loves the game and works harder and studied it more than all his peers. Look how cool he is in practice with his guys but he knew when it was time to get in their ears.
12:04 It's funny how he talks about that situation when in Super Bowl 49 that's the exact situation that won him his 6th ring.
what's even funnier is that the Butler interception play was just installed last minute during the defenses walk through inside the hotel the day before the game
he takes so much pride in his defense in NY. i just wanna be around the type of football people like Bill and Parcells
4:35 "I'm happy you know that." "I saw it."
Belichick says don't get into a quickness game with him cuz you're not very quick was hilarious
We’re moving on to the Los Angeles Rams
We're on to 7 ring.
+tyrone2252 yes because people are JELLY
tyrone2252 the other coaches around the league like him, opposing fans don't. Belichick is the first to give respect to the other coach when he loses.
Belichick is not only a mastermind at Defense. He is a mastermind at Offense as well. He's the Paul Brown of today's Pro Football. Simply awesome!
Belichick is passive aggressive and it's amazing lol
I'm enjoying this now, Coach Bill & Brady will be gone someday and it probably won't be what it is today. I'd love to spend a few hours talking football with Belichick, imagine all the great stories he could share.
God I’d kill to have the patriots on hard knocks lol
And just think.... This was at the beginning of the 2010's.
It's now 2019 and the day after the AFC championship vs the Chiefs and Patriots are going to SB LIII... Imagine how much more knowledge he has, and experience and wisdom
" want a volvo?" lmfao
As a Ravens fan, i have so much respect for this guy. He recommended Harbaugh when we needed a coach. I believe Harbaugh built this team and culture uniquely, but there are definitely many aspects of the Patriot way that have been incorporated. Its gonna be one hell of a game Sunday night.
the Obi Won Kenobi of the NFL.
When Belichick gets to Super Bowl Weekend Media Day, he says:
"Well, Hello There."
12:04 Exactly how they got off the goal line at the end of the Superbowl against the Seahawks. Bill knows his stuff!
13:23 damn bill even knows how the players spend their money 😂
