    I think the whole premise of this video is a bit odd. Why should the mass public care if there is a historic local tournament? I can't think of a single sport where there are storied local events that the top pros regularly show up and expect to make the same money. Maybe disc golf should focus on the pro tour and focus it's effort on the biggest tournaments so we can develop a history that has a sustainable future.

A nail biter of an end and it was a pleasure to be able to watch! Thank you GK Pro an thank you DG World for highlighting this tournament for us all.

    I have been watching and enjoying you guys for a while. I enjoy @Birdogiedg also. Today's analysis is what I have been looking for. It had more of that "ESPN" of the late 90s early '00s feel. (likely at some of its best) The old school box score style analysis is refreshing and engaging (at least when the play allows). Please continue to stretch the dynamic of your content and the variety of information you provide.

    Jefferson is out of touch. High-level A tier is going to go away because there is no coverage? 🙄
    No, it will just be played and won by hungry 1000 + rated locals and regional players. Which is fine, its an A tier!

    The Tar Heel Open was an A tier this year. Nathan Queen, Evan Smith, Grady Shue, Jasper Tyll, Shultz, Schweberger, Ariel Walker, Emily Beach, Paige Shue and local hero’s Nate, Gage, Brad, Logan, Wes, Taylor, Marc (YeetStreet), Jonathan, Rich, Juda, Zizzy the list goes on and on. Gotta keep an eye on those youngsters in MJ18. The winner was 13 and the youngest player was 8.
    Friendships made from that three day event are priceless. Best TD award is gonna be tough this year. Bone, Matt, Marc it’s gonna be a battle.
    The local scene going on for sure! Going to Junior Worlds is gonna be interesting.

    I feel like they need to switch up 80% of the courses on the tour. Their is plenty of beautiful course that could and would challenge pros. They get used to playing the same courses and with diffrent courses maybe some shorter courses where they have to use strategy then strength. This course was beautiful. I feel like switching courses would make more people watch and bring more money in for the pros. But im new to the sport so im probably wayoff lol

    Where was the Majestic tournament held before Blue Ribbon Pines became a course? BRP has only been around for about 18 years or so I think. They said it went back 40 years. Was it Kaposia?

    Love the vids and news updates, but please do not post the video with a screenshot of the tournament winner. Was finishing the final round coverage this morning and seen your video while scrolling. Many disc golf fans watch the tournament after completion and it is frustrating to already know the winner. Keep up the good work, but please be mindful when posting future vids.

    Every hole should have some local group who represent that whole. For example. I can see kids from boys and girls club surrounding the T-pads. But you have to give them a reason to come out. How about free clinics? How about a kids tournament the day before for them even if it’s a a different course near by. How about having food truck event scheduled the same weekend. How about having a local band concert?

    I played a B-tier this weekend in Red Feather Lakes, CO and because last card follows first, got to follow the pros. Nate Metzier edged out Joel Freeman for the W and I must say there is nothing like watching a tourney live. Video is ok but gives no real sense of surroundings.

    If you want more people to attend or screen watching tournaments a lot more connections need to be made. Making national and local connections through other groups like Boy and Girl Scouts, YMCA’s local businesses associations etc.

  • @ryansuter4424
    @ryansuter4424 27 дней назад

    For tournaments to gain more event attendance more needs to be offered at the tournament than just watching disc golf. There should be clinics, community rounds and small competitions that pros either lead or participate in with non pros. Honestly I’d rather be playing disc golf than watching it. And if I’m not a player and I am a fan then I want to have as much interaction with the people I’m a fan of.

    Admittedly the purses in even the best-paid events of 2024 are comical compared with PGA purses in the 1960s. Of the top 10 PGA earners in 1965, the earnings ranged from $140K to $58K. And those are in 1965 dollars.

    This guy obviously has zero business sense. A 15 second ad CAN be effective if done right.. And if you need to rely on "support" from businesses to fund your sport- you do not have a legitimate product to sell. Disc golf is where it deserves to be right now. Too many people think this sport should be compared to high paid professional sports in every aspect. The demand from the public for a product dictates the inflow of money. Just because you love a sport it doesn't mean it should be a massive mainstream success. And be careful what you wish for. You may find out that THIS IS the best time to be involved in the sport.

    Well if all the higher ups in the PDGA didn’t spend all the Members $$ on personal parties, dinners. More money to the players and courses wouldn’t be in question. If it wasn’t for the volunteers, the Pro tour and the PDGA would be unable to function and be would be flat broke. Follow the money.
