It never ceases to amaze me, the difference between American cars from 50, 60 years ago and the cars of today. It really shows the difference in what Detroit was and were it is now. We used to make rolling works of art, each vehicle with its own personality. Modern cars may have more technology, but so many look like "cookie cutter" machines. Not much personality in the average American car these days.
DAN ... u hit that nail right on its head !!!!! Just open a box of a dozen eggs & what do u see (( lol )) For example - just took a look at that new Vette - only arcades & video gamers come to mind ((lol)) ... ought to be ashamed for using that namesake on it - what a pos for that kind of $ ! I'd take a pre-82 any day & ges which always will draw more attention parked next to each other (lol) ... thou the few lookin over the new would mainly be tryin to figure out what it was since it certainly resembles alot of other newer european models ... always remember people - nothin' resembles earlier Vettes ... of course for the know it alls I'll mention (Opel GT & Pontiac Banshee) -- but do they really? Nothings better than 'viewing-driving-riding in-working on' the classic survivors of yesteryear period ! Hell - they can keep all the EFI computerizing, emissions, & safety shit where it belongs ... right alongside all their creature comforts of home inc. the cup holders, back-up cameras, & cell phone chargers tucked neatly inside their generic plastic jelly bean mobiles ! Modern impression absent of any pride is where its come to nowadays !!! Modern technology has its place - sure it does ... away from car shows !!! Kinda like puttin' mags on a 4-door back in the day. Nothing appeals more than older classics with a big ol' gas guzzlin' carburated V8 with some good ol shiny chrome on it !!! It's the mix that really doesnt appeal ... new on old especially on older muscle. AND what's with the idea of ghetto Foose wheels that belong on monster trucks - that aint no restomod - that's what we call a "rainbomod" since it surely had somethin' to do with the newer rainbow generation !!! Adorned with lil skinnys up front & big fat tires stuffed up under its arse is where its at & always will be !!! AND whats with the ghetto boxes full of 15" woofers (lol) ... delete the damn radio - I wanna hear that f***in thing roar all over town !!! Hell if you're that scared & feel the need for airbags n' the rest of the modern bling ... "just stay home & play video games with the kids - don't wanna see it thou do find it amusing at times" !!! (( Long live the survivors & those who feel the same way )) !!!!! Keep yur vids comin' Dan - always look forward to em - can watch em hours on end ... thou at times that's a no-no due to lifes more important chores ... BUT what the hay - that poop can wait !!! :) BTW ... this started out as a brief sentence or 2 :) ... (( lol ))
Use to take pride in the car you owned, now when I go shopping I see brand new cars with dings, scratches and nobody cleans their mofo's! And they all look the same except for the colors. BORING!!!
Some of these cars wouldn't be possible in Europa. All cars must be road legal, have a complete covered up engine, no part of the wheels outside the fender, airtight mufflers, doors, etc etc
Yea I sure do miss you and your vids ,take care.
Well that was the fastest 4:21 minutes on RUclips. I could have watched that for hours. Thanks, Dan. It's always good to see a post from you.
One of these days I'll get an Imperial. Love those cars. Thanks Danny
