I saw captive state the other day & that was an excellent rec, I would never have known about that flick if not for you... that is two excellent movies that I have now seen bcuz of your yt vids- that awesome film & also my #1 fav movie of all time = STAY... BEST film I have ever watched- really thought that was a masterpiece... so thanks & keep them coming!
I love this channel. The reason this channel is successful and totally worthy is because of the extra effort to show a list of the movies and everywhere they can be viewed. That extra effort makes this channel the Definite Go-To for movies to watch. It's a win-win.
Hubby and i just watched Shot Caller and enjoyed it. Keep recs coming! They really help when we have no idea what to watch... which is often due to all the garbage being pumped out.
I watched the Unbearable Weight on your recommendation in another video and LOVED IT! And I recommended it to my dad too and he LOVED it. Thanks again!
Thanks! Added some of these to my list and sent The Thicket to my husband. I think he'll love it. And I love Tubi. I've been rewatching Nikita on there lately
OMG! I didn't know that The Thicket had even been made, let alone that it had come out. I read this book like 6 years ago and loved it. Going to watch this movie tonight!!!
Tubi has been my go-to when there's junk everywhere else. There's always a great film to watch, and I am not excluding the terrific films from the 1930's and 40's.
@@gailjohnson5950 The commercials used to be part of why I watched, because it was so inexpensive, and they were so hard up, that one could put anything they paid to on there as an ad.some were just short music videos. I saw a stripper, just dancing topless, and a band played, but there was never any name for the band or song. Others weee just someone acting weird, like it was a bit, or a sketch, but it would go nowhere. More were like UHF or legs time might see on a public access channel. Whether an ad that looked 30 years old, just advertising a tourist beach shop, or products I’ve never heard of, the first couple years of Tubi were so odd. But, they had a lot of good stuff for free. They’ve had a killer horror movie collection, from the 60’s-80’s, and now a lot of really bad movies, made in the last 20 years or so, that often have ten sequels, and look thought up during count out at a hole in the wall strip club, in some tiny town, then filmed and acted in by the employees. 😆
Thank you for the list! I recently watched a 2023 Korean film from a first time director on Tubi called ‘Hopeless’. Popular Korean actor, Song Joong-ki took no salary for his role. My husband and I thought it was great and deserves a lot more attention. 🙏🏽
I LOVE Tubi!! I’ve watched several of these and I’ve liked every single one. The Thicket was really good. From Paris with Love, Prey, Shot Caller, all good movies and worth the watch. ❤️💜💚
I highly recommend Red Hill. I watched it back in the day because of the main character being played by Ryan Kwanten from True Blood. Prey, a streaming release on Hulu, was so good that its sequel is getting a theatrical release.
Saw the list a day ago, so I followed your advice. Prey is severely underrated. Weak first act. By the crescendo of the second act, it was captivating. 👍 👍
You're probably too young to remember, but I grew up with tv commercials littering basically every show I watched. However, they were actually deliberately placed at ideal moments throughout, and that's something I really appreciate about Tubi, because mostly that's how they manage the interruptions. This contrasts sharply with RUclips, which stuffs in commercial breaks completely without rhyme or reason probably according to some "algorithm" (oh give me a break), and has resulted in my refusing to watch RUclips movies at all.
You kinda knew when a food or toilet stop was due no matter what tv series or movie, god it got bad though, i haven't watched tv in over a decade so i'm assuming it got worse and stupider.
Shot Caller is so bad ass, it should have been number 1. It so glued onto reality, the tension you feel while watching it is hard to explain. It's not a movie, it's a documentary💪🏽
Have you seen Brothers, with Brolin and Dinklage? I don't know who did the stunt work for Peter in that one but oh my word, bless them, the physical comedy in that is hilarious!
Another great list, Darren, with o some amazing mentions (KUNG FU HUSTLE IS JUST A MENTION????). I'm most looking forward to watching "Prey" and "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent," both of which I've never seen, ... oh, and I've been interested in watching "Thicket" since the trailers announced its theatrical release.
Deepwater Horizon is a great movie for sure. I worked in the patch, not offshore, but damn, Kurt Russel did an amazing job portraying a "company man" excellent movie for sure.
I never would have remembered "The Impossible" being the title of that movie. I did love it when I saw it, and I can't get that leg wound out of my mind.
thank you! i literally was looking for it a month or so ago, nothing! then my boy DVD pops up with a vid and saves the day! hahaha.. rock on! I loved the movie, it was really incredibly well done!
“Bronson” was brilliant.. This truly made me fall in love with him. And that he also was impressed by that South African actress in “Mad Max: Fury Road”.
Missed opportunity to make a quick mention that Prey's lead Amber Midthunder's dad actually appears in The Thicket (among a pretty long list of solid and noteworthy actors not mentioned here)
They Live Shirt. Awesome. Greatest line for an intro to a badass. Also, would take Willy's Wonderland over The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Nick Cage movies.
Tubi typically has a solid selection (of both quality and garbage) and I find the commercials are fairly infrequent and of much shorter length compared to Hulu, Freevee and Prime.
I have heard about all these commercials and ads. I've never, ever in 4 almost 5 years I've had the RUclips channel, never had a single commercial. The only adds I get are sometimes at the start of a podcast. I have the free RUclips channel so I hope I never get any commercials. I do get a ton of commercials on Amazon Prime. I personally like Netflix better no ads or commercials.

Bronson is not on Tubi
No Bronson on Tubi in us
I agree, From Paris IS totally watchable, mostly due to Travolta's character but the interaction between he and Rhys Meyer was pretty damn good.
I saw captive state the other day & that was an excellent rec, I would never have known about that flick if not for you... that is two excellent movies that I have now seen bcuz of your yt vids- that awesome film & also my #1 fav movie of all time = STAY... You owe me 2 hours of my life back from that pile of steaming turd " The Dead Dont Die" that you recommended.

Excellent FLICK CONNECTION Darren. Many thanks for sharing with us, much appreciated 🎉🎉🎉
I watched the Unbearable Weight on your recommendation in another video and LOVED IT! And I recommended it to my dad too and he LOVED it. Thanks again!
Thanks!
Thanks, I missed watching "The Thicket" somehow! "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" and "Prey" are fantastic.
Added a few to my list. Thanks for the hard work. I love the reviews.
This is one of your best lists in awhile! All movies I love, haven’t watched in awhile and/or been meaning to watch👍
I'm not a big fan of Westerns, but decided to check out the Thicket based on this recommendation and I have to say, that was a damn good movie.
Thanks again Darren for some great recommendations! Love your channel for staying ahead of the game!!
Petty sure I'm at least one step behind, but thanks anyway!
Thank you for another wonderful list of recommendations. Keep being awesome!
Shotcaller is such a good movie. watched it on DVD's recommendation and the wife even loved it !
Love Tubi!! ❤
Tubi has been my go-to when there's junk everywhere else. There's always a great film to watch, and I am not excluding the terrific films from the 1930's and 40's.

Great list! Great video! I like the merch. I have watched several and have the rest on my list. Have a great weekend!
These are some I would have passed over…thanks for another great list!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
love this channel. thank you.
Thank you for the list!
I recently watched a 2023 Korean film from a first time director on Tubi called ‘Hopeless’.
Popular Korean actor, Song Joong-ki took no salary for his role.
My husband and I thought it was great and deserves a lot more attention. 🙏🏽
Great number 1 pick, loved it
I LOVE Tubi!! I’ve watched several of these and I’ve liked every single one. The Thicket was really good. From Paris with Love, Prey, Shot Caller, all good movies and worth the watch.
❤️💜💚

Great to see Red Hill on here. Great movie.
lol already watched Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar!!!! 😂 Never one to pay for but a delight! Silly and fun for a cold and cloudy January.
I concur. Excellent choices. Perhaps not in the same order.
Tubi is the best streaming service ever
It is for me.
@RabbiSteve1 for everyone
Saw the list a day ago, so I followed your advice. Prey is severely underrated. Weak first act. By the crescendo of the second act, it was captivating. 👍 👍
Movies: Carlovy Musicc’s Friend Zone (Trilogy) on Tubi
Awesome picks I watched Prey.

Yes, great point about ad timing
You kinda knew when a food or toilet stop was due no matter what tv series or movie, god it got bad though, i haven't watched tv in over a decade so i'm assuming it got worse and stupider.
That is correct. Tubi reminds me of when TV would know when to go to commercials.
RUclips Premium baby. So good.
Yes, I’ve noticed that about Tubi.
I really liked Travolta in this. Not a fan of Rhys Myers but the show was fun.
I am watching Rhys Myers as Dracula so I can understand why you’re not a fan of his.
I had forgotten how bonkers everything Travolta does is in this flick.
Shot Caller is so bad ass, it should have been number 1. It so glued onto reality, the tension you feel while watching it is hard to explain. It's not a movie, it's a documentary💪🏽
Not sure why but I can't find Bronson on tubi. Been waiting all week to watch it
Thanks for reminding me of “From Russia”, I forgot the title, but such a great fun flick to watch with my son👍
Been waiting for The Thicket!
Have you seen Brothers, with Brolin and Dinklage? I don't know who did the stunt work for Peter in that one but oh my word, bless them, the physical comedy in that is hilarious!
Im in Canada and have Tubi and The Thicket was a recommended movie for me yesterday….
About t watch deepwater horizon again, What a great movie!!
Good ol Halliburton wrecking ecosystems and destroying evidence and nobody goes to jail. Those silly tricksters. 😂
always loved from paris with love since it came out
Always gold thank you
I was shocked yesterday when I saw that Tubi has 'Cannibal Holocaust,' reputedly one of the most graphic 'horror' movies ever made.
Saw 3 of these this week, Prey, Shotcaller, and Bronson. Good movies.
"The Thickett" is excellent.
I've watched From Paris with Love, 3 times! Great action.
THANKS
You know it
I love Shot Caller!
The Thicket is available on Tubi in Canada.
Ijust scrolled thru tubi last night lol
also... barb and star is really one of the best surprisingly hilarious comedies ever.
Yeah, I just looked for some of these, you should say it’s for the US only. I just saw the US availability.
From Paris is super fun.
The deal breaker for me is the commercials. Tubi, needs a no ads option.
Deepwater Horizon is a great movie for sure. I worked in the patch, not offshore, but damn, Kurt Russel did an amazing job portraying a "company man" excellent movie for sure.
I’m watching the thicket tonight!!
"You feeling strong? Call me elf one more time"
I never would have remembered "The Impossible" being the title of that movie. I did love it when I saw it, and I can't get that leg wound out of my mind.
thank you! i literally was looking for it a month or so ago, nothing! then my boy DVD pops up with a vid and saves the day! hahaha.. rock on! I loved the movie, it was really incredibly well done!
Tubi is highly slept on streaming channel.
“Bronson” was brilliant..
This truly made me fall in love with him. And that he also was impressed by that South African actress in “Mad Max: Fury Road”.
Any word on Nicolas Refin's Avenging Silence
List at 14:04
I wish movies like Shot Caller, American Me, and Blood in Blood out would get put on 4K Blu-ray. 👍😎
I am not finding ‘Bronson’ available on TUBI?
'Prey' is a damn fine movie 👍💯
Bronson is not on Tubi, do you have an update?
thicket is available in canada
Prey was an awesome movie. I think it's further improved if you watch the Comanche language version of the movie.
Just watched "From Paris with Love"....forgot how enjoyable that movie actually is!
Can't find Bronson on USA Tubi. What's the trick? Can you post an actual link?
Can't find it either. Bummer
The Thicket, wired movie but thoroughly enjoyed it, Shot caller is 10/10!
Right? If The Thicket had been a series I would have kept watching but it felt like an incomplete movie with some wasted potential.
@DarrenVanDam definitely would have made a great series, so many back stories and characters could have been fleshed out!
The Thicket was awesome.
"Dennis the Menis" with Walter Mathau is leaving soon.
One of my favorites, and also proof that Siskel and Ebert were as virtuous as Yelp.
Bronson outstanding recommendation
TUWOMT is sooo good!! buddy flick greatness!
🍄🤣
DVD you rock, ty
Who is DVD?
@@Eidolon1andOnly the host of this here flick connection darren van dam = dvd
Andrew Schulz in the Thicket is crazy!
I won’t be watching that then..
He went for it
Missed opportunity to make a quick mention that Prey's lead Amber Midthunder's dad actually appears in The Thicket (among a pretty long list of solid and noteworthy actors not mentioned here)
Lets not forget James Hetfield is in The Thicket 🤘
Only reason I didn't mention him is I felt like he was barely in it.
Love your channel! Thanks for staying on top of free movie listings, I'm sure its a lot of work to keep up with and present! 😊
'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" is a great movie
Barb and Star is awesome.
I really loved The Thicket
Fun fact, Charles Bronson, the actor, took that name to be looked at as more of a badass. His real name is Charles Dennis Buchinsky!!
They Live Shirt. Awesome. Greatest line for an intro to a badass. Also, would take Willy's Wonderland over The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Nick Cage movies.
I love Tubi
Yay, free gems ❤
I don't even mind the ads..there aren't near as many as the other streaming services make you sit through, and not nearly as often either!
Tubi typically has a solid selection (of both quality and garbage) and I find the commercials are fairly infrequent and of much shorter length compared to Hulu, Freevee and Prime.
Lately tubi has been the best!
Prey is Awesome!
I know that a lot of Predator fans don't care for Prey, but I love it.
The Thicket is AWESOMELY GOOD!
Tubi or not Tubi. 😂
Wait, who was that handsome and talented actor who was beside John Travolta in From Paris With Love? Nobody remembers? That’s a shame
Prey 👍🏻
Travolta was great in paris with love. Also liked the movie. I have seen Prey 3 times already. Best predator sinds Arnolds release in the '80's.
I maintain Predator 2 is underrated
if you use a browser and NOT the app, and have an ad bl0cker extension..... BAM NO ADS
The Thicket is great! Juliette Lewis is a goddess, Peter Dinklage is a god. Andrew Schulz is a goddess too
The Thicket was kind of disjointed. Never understood that dirt bike at the beginning.
