Electric Windows / Mirrors Not Working Vauxhall vectra c 2008

Electric windows only work sometimes, sometimes they go down sometimes they don't(sounds like my ex)
So in this video the electric windows on the vauxhall vectra c only work sometimes, and you have to press the switch very hard. So today I remove the switches to find if it can be an easy fix.

Will do this, have them off the car, have had some problems with the windows, had to push the button in certain way. but mine is now that had car sitting a while and battery off, none of the buttons work, BUT the door central locking button does. I have checked the fuses.

Passenger window used to play up. Never noticed anything else. Must be just lack of use or sitting for a bit. Cars going to be mint by the time you’re finished ✅

The first time I opened the drivers window and it wouldn’t shut, I pushed hard and it closed, but the passenger wouldn’t go up at all from the passengers switch. Got more to get on with but delayed by the poor weather. My van was the same age as the vectra when I first got it and it cost me thousands to sort out, the vectra has cost only a fraction of that, goes to show how looking after a car will preserve its condition 👏 for the previous owner 👍

If you hold the lock/unlock buttons on the remote the windows open/close 👍

If you flash the main beam before you get out and lock the car they stay on for 30 seconds to help you get indoors in the dark👍

Thanks Bro! All sides fixed. My Vectra C is working like a NEW now! Extra question. Why when I open does not matter which door my interior lights (roof linings) not working? Manually when I press buttons it is work but when I open the door not ;-( THANK you!

Usually a common problem is broken wires in the loom from the main chassis to the door, check fuses first 👍

check if red 'door open' light comes on the dash when you open doors. if yes then most probably your problem is corroded roof ribbon loom. it's actually a ribbon rather than a wiring hence it corrodes easily due to all the moisture collecting on the roof. had that happen in mine a few years ago, I managed to solder the corroded bit of the ribbon but it's just gone bad again a while ago and will have to investigate again 😐

My powerfolding mirror does not work on passanger side, does this fix that problem?

That’s a nice rare optional extra 👍 it could well be, however the mirror switch is know for wearing out and not working properly, it could be this. I would test to see if 12v is getting to the mirror.

I looked at the price of 2nd hand switches and then said fuck that. I did the same and all my stuff is working again. It cost me 5 cotton buds and some contact cleaner, lol.
