BEHIND THE SCENES WITH FREIBURGER, Life After Roadkill!

  • This is a week in my gearhead life, a behind the scenes look at my days now that Roadkill is cancelled. It’s nonstop car stuff, from the NHRA drag races to shooting videos in my garage, wrenching on my dad’s flatfender jeep, and even visiting new cars at the LA Auto Show. (For the record, I don’t think I’m getting either the Ranger Raptor or the ZR2.) You’ll also get a hint at an upcoming episode.
More road trips and wrenching are coming up on the David Freiburger Channel! Meanwhile, see what it’s like to be me. And please share!-D/F

I love the stuff you do with Steve like the motor swaps in the old Mopar‘s and also things like rescuing the white barracuda from the junkyard. Getting old things running again and just doing things that the average guy can do without spending a lot of money really makes the channel enjoyable. It also would help keep your budget low. I don’t know how many other viewers like this kind of thing but it really interests me. It’s just really fun. I do watch Finnegan but the kind of stuff he does is out of my budget so sometimes I just lose interest. Good luck to you and I’ll keep watching no matter!

So to add to the fans saying you inspired them... for me i had an operation back when roadkill 1st went on youtube so i just laid in bed and watched the first like 4 episode non stop and i feel cool that i was the one out of my friends to spread the word of "roadkill" back then i was the guy always driving round in junky primer stuff and the only thing people could call it is 'rat' but i knew that werent right... whenever i painted something i lost interest and sold it. Now i know i was just into beaters and original paint, that meme of general mayhem and also a fully painted one where it said 'rather this.. than this' is just my mind!!! Thankyou for all youve done and i cant wait for the future of this channel ❤

Hearing you on the content side - that pressure must be a big thing. If you're ever over Australia way again you'll have a hellava time with people who are happy to help with trips, stories, cool vehicles and projects or even accommodation.
The project thing gets me every time with numbers of vehicles. I've decided if I don't use or work on something in 6 months it gets sold. Keeps me honest, and I'm enjoying things a lot more as the 'natural selection' takes place - I only keep what I like AND use! The one exception to that is my '92 Honda XR600R project as I've had about 5 of those bikes and will never sell one again... I'll only end up wanting another.
All the best from down here, hope this finds you well.

Ah yeah, corporations. Such a pleasure to work for....
    /sarcasm
I am genuinely concerned for some of the folks that have been pretty much tossed out in the
street as a result of all that upheaval stuff - Steve D, Lucky, Finnegan, etc.
I know all you guys have side hustles (as do previously ousted folks like Fred) but that sudden
tossing from a steady gig is a killer. Been there, done that.
Hoping everyone winds up doing ok and I'm subscribed to all of you - and honestly, don't mind
whatever it is any of you choose to put up on your channels. I'll be here regardless.
    - Ed on the Ridge

I have been a roadkill fan for a decade... It's my favorite car show ever. That being said, I think creatively, and im sure David would agree with me. Roadkill ending is probably a good thing. Cause now, you have complete creative freedom, and you can do whatever you want, go where you want, and keep or sell what you want. Btw, I'm the guy who bought the dad rod from John Mills. He was stoked to see a roadkill sticker on my truck. Sorry about my grammar. Not all of us are professional magazine writers hahahaha..

So good to see you and Steve continuing to produce content! I’m 65, have been a car guy since I was a kid, had many vintage cars, built a few, restored a few, but due to health issues I’m now just a spectator. Thank you for what you do and have done in the car culture community. Much love and respect.

Love all the content you’re putting out. Especially the history of hot rodding. I grew up reading my dad’s Hot Rod mags --but not living in CA I didn’t get to experience the California car scene. You bring it to life Frieburger and I appreciate that.

V10 Ram would not be boring content. So hard to find, and also extra cool that you've had it since new. I remember you showing it off on the old Roadkill Extra episodes early on.
Don't underestimate that people like watching you and those in your orbit tinker on stuff much more than the actual project itself.

Ive been a fan since the 90s. Bought pretty much every magazine you wrote for/edited for all those years. Watched early roadkill shows but it got to the point where even if I paid I couldn’t watch roadkill easily so I let my motortrend subscription lapse. While I no longer have the desire to work on my own project cars anymore I love that you are on RUclips and especially love the ded episodes with Pewe. Keep doing what you are doing, it’s gold
