I honestly prefer it's codename Whistler over it's final XP one. I heard it was named after a ski resort Whistler Blackcomb (the latter is a 7 beta) and also longhorn (Vista beta) was named after a cafe that is located there. Also XP is a short version of experience.

Hi Martin, compatibility with which version of vmware did you use? It's just that I also tried to upgrade through all xp builds, but I'm stuck on build 2287, I can't help but upgrade from 2000 rtm, and from build 2257, I also can't do a clean install. Please help me.
And yes, I used a Russian-English translator because I don't know English well.

I didn't use VMware. I used Virtual PC 2007.

Press f5 in Boot screen at not graffical installation and press any key then press esc and sellect standard pc make sure you changed bios date and put vmware compatibility at 5.x

I stuck in 2287 too because it isn't a bootable version , it's upgradable version and I upgrading from windows 2000 to 2287 , for bochs was successful but the other VM's doesn't and Windows Whistler 2287 Pre-RTM takes 3~5 minutes to boot up on bochs

Well Windows XP was One of the First Operating Systems i Used since when i was a kid. In 2014. Support for Windows XP has Ended.

You can't upgrade neptune to whistler. Even though neptune was compiled before whistler, the nt version is higher than whistler. Whistler is nt 5.1, but neptune is 5.5.
