It would be nice if they do this in mh6: the more hits that guard absorbs, the more damage the thrust attack will do. This way, you will need marathon runner but the reward is high
best part of being a lancer is the fatalis fight. once in a blue moon, they'll be a guy who cant get out of his flame cone attack and you step in and take it all with your shield.
World's Lance is the best iteration of Lance. I've never had more fun and felt more badass than standing my ground with this Lance. Tis a shame that it had so little damage. I genuinely think that clutch claw should be a part of Lance's arsenal.
I think rise did an even better job with all the switch skill and more aggressive moveset. Does lance has advancing guard in world? Where you dash forward for a short distance, guarding at the same time and could be followed up with either triple poke or shield bash? I played with LS & bow, played a bit with lance in world in the end. Converted fully to lance in rise. For that reason I don't know fully how lance work in world. I will go back to world to do a full lance playthrough later in the future.
some friends got me into monster hunter recently, and god I love the lance so much. you can just brush off large attacks with minor hp loss, and strike back with the power of THE SUN also HOLY SHIT 1:01 P.S. love the small edits throughout, as an editor this makes me very happy :3
Lance main here: dis is the good stuff. I once broke kulves horns by contering her head slam... very satisfying. And the classic boxing match with zinogres slams.
I played the Lance in World. I was doing the Behemoth with other players. After fainting so many times, hearing we need a tank to attract emnity, i built a Uragaan/Bazelgeuse hyrbid armor build and crafted a lance to tank the hell out of all of its attacks.
I just started using Lance a few days ago and am unsure whether to use powerguard, counterguard, or just the standard guard. Is it required to use powerguard when a monster does a large or multiple-hit attack?
Powerguard reduces knockback BUT it increases chip damage, I generally use Poweguard to reposition my counter hit (for example after Diablos' dash attack) or when my Counter fails, transition to Pguard to reposition my next hit. Counter is used to keep your momentum in the middle of a monsters attack (as long as you know the pattern). Safest option is just guarding, I suggest practice using the Dash Guard, it helps you reposition quickly and has the same block properties as your normal guard.
