Pakistan has recently made significant strides in lunar exploration by collaborating with China on the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) project. Here are the key details:
    ICUBE-QAMAR Satellite:
Pakistan’s first satellite mission to the moon is called ICUBE-QAMAR. It was developed by the Institute of Space Technology (IST) in collaboration with Shanghai University and China’s national space agency, the China National Space Administration (CNSA).
ICUBE-QAMAR was launched aboard China’s Chang’e-6 lunar probe from Hainan, China. The launch took place recently and was telecast live on both the IST website and Chinese state television1.
This cubesat aims to contribute to lunar research and exploration.
    International Lunar Research Station (ILRS):
Pakistan officially joined China’s ILRS project in October 2023. The ILRS is a long-term initiative led by China to construct a permanent lunar base by the 2030s, with precursor missions in the 2020s.
