8 chicks under their momma hen's wings on a cold day

It was in the low 50's today and dipping into the low 30's tonight. These chicks were born about a week ago. Chickens, and chicks, are amazingly hardy, more than most initially give them credit for!
They gathered under their adoptive (it's only been the last couple days that she's been treating them like her own chicks) momma's wings and body from 7-7:30pm and will stay there all night until around 7am.
The hen is a silky, the chicks are blue red laced wyandottes x3, California white, cuckoo maran, buff orpington, Jersey giant, silver laced wyandotte. They are cute, fun and awesome for our kids (& us) who spend hours outside watching them and learning.

3:03 is adorable, it reminds me of when a boyfriend/girlfriends snuggles into the significant others neck

I hope you give them shelter for the night. Poor mom looks like she's in need of some shut eye.
