I plowed snow with my dad from the time I was 18 until I was 46. He started before I was born. Now that he has dementia I cherish those days and he still remembers some of those times. Good luck with all that powder!
He's baaack! Dr. Griff, the snow surgeon extraordinaire. Been watching all winter for Griff to drop a 2024 video. Congratulations on the new machine. Hope it makes you a load of $. The glare on the windshield makes like a second camera- one facing forward, one facing rearward.
Griff, I'm impressed with all the snow!! I am also impressed with your new Cat Loader! How quite it is. All I can hear is the hydro drive. Amazing!! If I didn't know any better, I would say that it was hybrid - diesel/electric!
Good to see you back. I'm not a fan of those shiny new windows though.. hard to see anything with the glare from the back window shining on it. Might need to change the camera's position a little bit, that might help. Be great if you could run with the rear lights off, but that's no good. Well, stay warm my friend. Good job on the plowing. Don't you just love that new loader smell?
Just Discovered Your Channel And I Think It's Fabulous!! I Miss The Snow So Much, Spending Most Of My Life Back East, But Now Here On The San Diego Coast🌴 Not Much Snow, LOL!! Keep Up The Good Work, And Stay Safe!!!
Awesome snow. I live in upstate NY where we get 70-110 inches of snow a year and we've gotten less then 2 feet of snow this season wish this snow would come to us
Boy I could have used something like that today at our cabin just south of Tahoe city. From the edge of the county plowed road it was probably 6’ tall banks where all the snow was blown off or the road. Our front door had snow was a little over 1/2 way buried, got that cleared out. All of the people that I called that had done the plowing in the past were out of the business and retired or too sick to continue plowing anymore. Years ago when my grandpa was alive he always talked about in the 40’s or somewhere around there having to park along 89, snowshoe in and come in from the second story.
is the new loader noticeably better? I think last winter was more snow, but this storm was definitely bigger more hard hitting quickly just from my meteorological perspective
The new loader so far a been a pretty nice machine, lots of power and the locker on front axle is nice for pushing out the ramps. My 2 biggest complaints so far is: 1 - the machine really likes to fog up inside the cab and 2 - the windshield wiper does not have an intermittent setting which is really annoying! The old loader is a tried and true workhorse with very minimal issues over the last 25 years and still going strong. Hard to beat the old iron!
Watching this back to back from last year with the 938G, I think this new 938 has more pushing power, but the G seems faster and the electronic traction control on the G was more effective than the limited slip diffs on the new machine. BUT a person cannot truly compare, every snow storm drops different snow and it pushes/piles different.
I run a 938m for our town in Wisconsin. I noticed your wear shoes on the blade are twice the width of the ones that came with our Cat blade. Care to share where those came from? We eat through our smaller shoes way too fast.
The blade we have is a 2001 Balderson 12ft blade, so that’s probably why they look a bit different than your Cat blade. We have the wear pads in their highest position so that they never actually touch the ground. With some of the steeper driveways, they seemed to just dig in and hinder the blade versatility for us.
That's some crazy snow. You have to do something about the reflection in the window, it makes it nearly impossible to watch. Maybe turn off the rear light or mount the camera to the glass.
Hey, glad to see an upload from y'all again! Here's to hoping this season won't be as crazy as the last one. Roofs getting crushed ain't fun for anyone.
I didn't realize how bad the glare was until I watched the footage afterwards. I will see what I can do to make it better in the future. Also, believe it or not, the wiper is on its slowest setting! One of my complaints about the new machine for sure. Thanks for watching!
I hear you. We plow a lot of driveways at the same time that we plow the road, so its a lot of back and forth inevitably. Some of my other videos have less of the same back and forth going on
Thanks! Those are actually my rear facing lights outside of the cab. Super bright, but I’m going to just shut those off while filming because the glare is definitely pretty bad

haha thank you! Im going to try some different things to help with the glare for future videos
Yea buddy, good to see another vid from you. Nice work around the cars at 16:50 and 22:15
There were cars there?? lol

Its incredibly quiet!! Very nice machine to run for the most part. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy a good plowing video.
Sir, this is a family channel. 😆
Back again, i love it! Nice CAT!
Greetings from the east coast
7ft in two days jeez man i do this for a living in canada so i feel you but goodness dealing with 7ft is insane.. good job guys
I was wondering when you were going to post a video. Thanks for sharing, and it's nice to see that yall got another CAT.

I hope there’s gonna be some more videos this winter!!
Good to see you back man! Great video!
Thank you!
Love watching this. just so satisfying
Crazy how much you guys got out there

Hi Griff Granger. Watch all of your videos, are you going to do some videos this season?
Awesome snow. I live in upstate NY where we get 70-110 inches of snow a year and we've gotten less then 2 feet of snow this season wish this snow would come to us
I live in Rochester, NY. These last two winters have been incredible for how little snow we've had.
Way to work Griff 💪🏻🇺🇸
lol that not snow , its dust. Lake effect isnt real snow
I love your snow videos wish you would make more plowing ones. I like how you have the camera high on windshield so we can see the plow better
Boy I could have used something like that today at our cabin just south of Tahoe city. From the edge of the county plowed road it was probably 6’ tall banks where all the snow was blown off or the road. Our front door had snow was a little over 1/2 way buried, got that cleared out.

Do you think more lighting is needed? Wanted to see if there is a market for brackets etc for lighting solutions for similar applications.
Do yall ever look for more help with the winter seasons? I live in reno and have been trying to get on during the winter doing this stuff.
Is this the first real snow you have gotten this year? I just love watching this
We've gotten a few other storms, but nothing too significant. This was definitely the biggest storm this winter!
Enjoy the time with your dad can’t replace that what do you do in the warmer months
is the new loader noticeably better? I think last winter was more snow, but this storm was definitely bigger more hard hitting quickly just from my meteorological perspective
I also offer value from a met perspective

Nice new kitty 🎉
Thanks!!

With such quantities of snow it must be easier with a front mounted snow blower!!
We have one! We were having issues with it during this storm so we made due with the blades
Ok.👌
You need to make more videos of plowing I will watch all of them
Hey, glad to see an upload from y'all again!
Here's to hoping this season won't be as crazy as the last one. Roofs getting crushed ain't fun for anyone.
How much sleep did you get in the 3days
I could do without the glare and skipping wiper.....but great video!
Loader seems to have great power/weight/traction.
I didn't realize how bad the glare was until I watched the footage afterwards. I will see what I can do to make it better in the future. Also, believe it or not, the wiper is on its slowest setting! One of my complaints about the new machine for sure. Thanks for watching!
Woaw
AMERICAN CATERPILAR frontloader my always like it my dreams technic.
Could you not use a bigger blade one pass does it all😊
Bigger blade would be nice in a lot of situations, but we also have a lot of tight spots to get into where the narrower blade is necessary
@@griffgranger That makes sense great job anyway
👍👍👍🌨️
👍🏽
気温が低くてパウダースノーだから未だ良いけど、この雪の量ならロータリー除雪機が欲しいレベルだな。
They do have one but it is having mechanical problems
You need to go more places plowing instead of this back-and-forth back-and-forth for the whole length of the video
I hear you. We plow a lot of driveways at the same time that we plow the road, so its a lot of back and forth inevitably. Some of my other videos have less of the same back and forth going on
Nice job, dude, but your inside cab lights have too much reflection on camera! 👍👌✌️🇺🇸
Thanks! Those are actually my rear facing lights outside of the cab. Super bright, but I’m going to just shut those off while filming because the glare is definitely pretty bad
