I've watched your other EVE videos, but I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I've forgotten the thrill of those early kills as a new player, and I was laughing the whole way through that video. Great stuff.
Just wanted to say this video got me back into Eve Online. Like many people who tried Eve then gets bored because of the learning curve or sandbox gameplay, I played a few months then left. A couple of years later i saw this video and got me interested in Eve again. That was about 2 years ago now. Now ive killed thousands of ships thats worth trillions ISK. Killed everything from frigates to titans and saw empires rise and fall. I joined small fights to epic space battles that lasted hours or even days. I met people from across the world playing this game. I guess what im trying to say is, Thank you so much for this video because if wast for this, i wouldn't give Eve another shot.
Oh god dude, I love you and your videos. I appreciate them especially as I've been playing stealth killers trough my MMO career during the years. Your videos are so hilarious to watch and remind me so much of myself when I was doing my first kills in Ultima Online (pre-trammel!) Thank you again :)
Reminded me of my first kills, the excitement, the drama, and the fact that I did not have enough room in my cargo hold for the loot either. Thanx for a great vid and for the trip down memory lane. Keep it up :)
This is one of those rare videos to me that actually made me laugh, thank you for this, and as this is one of your older videos, I will certainly check out some recent stuff! :)
This is another one of those games where you can have someone play for you and you can sit in a big chair behind them going "DIVERT POWER TO MAIN THRUSTERS, WARP ON MY GO" and have it actually mean something. (also I lol'd hard at your message keep it up torpedo mailman) :)
I can't believe you were so worried about killing a retriever, especially once you saw that it was alone. I mean seriously, retty's can't even shoot back, where's the "goodfight" in that?
Not played Eve in years, but I remember the excitement of my first PvP kill. Back then lowsec piracy was somewhat viable, my hands were sweating and I was on the edge of my seat. Theres something about Eve that makes it all seem so much more personal!

I would most def recommend maybe if they are to get you again and you enter high sec then warp to a random asteroid belt and just practice stay cloaked and over heating everything then pick some random npc and nuke them with torps and have everything over heated. If you are doing mining barges and stuff I don't recommend over heating your point or any mids just your guns. (will save you some isk on repairs) either way awesome videos and I enjoy watching you squirm going " ooooh this is a bad idea" makes me laugh every time!
quite good for a young player ! good situational awareness ! just paranoid enough ! great smack mail ! love it. suggestions: rearrange your offensive mods: f1 to f3: disruptor, torps, target painter. s you can just crtl+click to target and have your mods hot with pressing f1,f2,f3
WiNGSPAN!! That was awesome! And EXACTLY what its like flying a stealth bomber. Way to nail the sweaty palms, nervousness and scared $h!tless pit in your stomach when targeting and blowing up an industrial...and then PODDING the pilot! WooHoo!
Oh man, the Evemail at the end made it all worth it. I feel you being cautious there. I wouldn't have been worried about the Retriever itself, but her corpmates who might be hanging out cloaked at warp distance waiting for someone to take the bait. My corp sometimes does that with a Venture, orbiting and mining until someone shows up for the "easy kill." Of course, the Venture has a Point, then everyone else warps in, hunter becomes the hunted... ;)
The whole time I'm watching this I'm thinking "Yep, he knows nothing, he's definitely gonna die..." I WAS WRONG! hahaha. Congrats bro! WELCOME TO NEW EDEN!
Awesome vid man :) Even though I've played EVE for over 3 years, I've never tried SB'ing before... But seems like something I definately should try out xD
Hey besides the 2mil isk thing he picked up whats the point of killing those guys? Like what else do you gain. Im not saying its wrong in any way im just wondering what you gain from it.
centralofmental The thrill of the hunt. I remember when I killed my first Buzzard... I had to wait and keep looking for prey in numerous systems, took 3 days but eventually I got him. It was hilarious, he dropped a sisters scanner probe too and I tricked him into paying me ransom as well, lol.
Nice video :) When not in Empire space, paranoia keeps you alive... I spent so much time in 0.0 I forgot not to watch my back and scan and align carefully in 1.0 space...lol
you can take out battlecruisers and battleships as well if you remember to equip a smart bomb to deal with drones, just be careful around a domi or a myrimidon which carry a lot of replacement drones, and fast tracking sentries :)
it appears you got pretty secured mind set, quality vid. although its like a tiger hunting for a daydreaming sheep, and panic so long to do it :P anyway thumb up for you :)
These vids are awesome. I love the fact that you show the "freak out" leading up to the engagement. If I ever get to the point where my hands arent shaking and heart pounding as I go to decloak it will be time to leave EVE
Nice! Great video. I have been playing for years, but just getting into the solo SB aspect of the game, so this was very helpful. Quick question, as a 3 month old player, how were you able have all those active mods on the SB? Those probe launchers take up almost all your CPU, no? I can not have all those mods active with even a 50mil SP pvp char. What type of probe launcher are you using? And that mail, was the cherry on top. A move I will likely adopt :-)
I think he was just using a core probe launcher which is light on the CPU, if he had a combat probe launcher he would have used that to find them instead of just dscan.
Hey WiNGSPAN, how would you compare the strategic aspect of AC multiplayer and EVE Online? Before you jump on me, I understand that they are completely different type of games, but judging from your videos, it seems like strategically they're not too far apart. Now, I know it takes a lot more time and practice to understand certain things in EVE, but which one do you think requires more skill to beat veteran players and less OP weapons/abilities/etc?
Slotered, it's not a bad question at all. The main difference between these games is that ACMP is structured and EVE is not. When you are playing ACMP, you know there are 3-7 other players who are set up in a very specific way to kill you. You are all playing the same "game" with the same rules and GENERALLY the same tools. In EVE, there are anywhere between 0 and 2000 other players around you at any time. Any of them could technically be hostile to you, and except for some circumstances (like war declarations and alliances) there is no way to know who is "good." In fact even your allies could fire on you at any time, and a hostile player may pass you up for their own reasons. Some players are itching to blow you up, others would do anything possible to avoid a fight. Some players never even undock from space stations. As far as balance goes, games like ACMP will always be more balanced because there is a set structure and timer, and everyone starts in a set place with again GENERALLY similar tools. Any MMO by comparison will be different because some people have thousands of allies, or expensive weapons, or have trained skills very high compared to a new player. However, EVE is 10x more balanced than other MMOs when it comes to this disparity for two reasons. First is that every player-owned asset is destroyable. So even if some guy has a 10-billion ISK ship with 10-billion ISKs of personal implants, if you blow up his ship and his corpse, he loses it all. It isn't like most MMOs where you find the Legendary Sword of Pwnage once and use it forever. Your "sword" can be broken, or even stolen in many circumstances. The other balancing factor to EVE is the skill system. EVE skills cap out very low, with 80% of their effectiveness only taking 2 days max to achieve. This means in a fight with a person playing for three months and someone playing three years, the 3 year player will only be slightly more powerful despite playing 12x longer. This system also means there is a limitation in EVE by ship role. You can have 5 years of training and be able to perfectly fly 100 ships, but the fact is you can only fly 1 ship at a time. Which means someone who has trained to perfectly fly 1 ship in 1/12 the time can fly just as well as the person with a billion skill points. Here I killed players who can probably fly ships that would tear my bomber to pieces, but unlucky for them I attacked when they are flying something weak to bombers. Does that answer your question?
WiNGSPAN TT I think yes. And I'll take that as "EVE is harder" I guess. I was a big fan of ACMP back in a days when it was fresh and unique. I absolutely loved the sense of danger and uncertainty of it (usually wanted/deathmatch). The fact that it was all about reading your player and knowing when to strike and when to back off. So many great memories. And that's where I see the similarities, because it looks like there is as much of a "danger and uncertainty" in EVE as one could possibly stomach. Looks like EVE is an MMOs done right, and it's truly beautiful, both artistically and mechanically, much like ACB. I'm not an MMO kind of a person myself, but if I ever jumped into one, I think it'd be this game. Btw, that kill mail you sent was hilarious xD You know how to entertain your audience, WiNG, that's for sure. And I'm already seeing you moving up to be the 3rd best commentator on youtube. Who does that guy think he is?
Slotered Thanks and yeah it's a really interesting experience. Like a mix of Homeworld, Diablo 1, World of Warcraft, and Sim City even. If you ever want to try it out don't forget I have that extended trial link in the video description!
Fun watch. And to all you haters out there, did he have fun doing this? Sure sounds like it, then mission accomplished. Wingspan seems to be having a lot more fun than you with your bitter vet trolling.
As far as I know, multiboxing means playing EVE on more than 1 account at once, either on multiple computers or one computer with multiple clients running.
How hard were your hands shaking before you hit that decloak button? Better yet, how hard were they shaking when you warped out? I'll never get tired of that feeling. Nice kill.
hey man - i love your video's! i am trying to make some videos for my corp/alliance and i am having issues with recording and encoding in 1440p. i was wondering if you wouldn't mind giving me some advise on how you are doing your eve recordings/encodings? cheers!
I record in FRAPS at full resolution, 30 frames per second. Encoding is a little more complicated but I encode in .FLV files in Premier with like 7-8mbps target rate.
WiNGSPAN TT thanks a ton man! i will look into how to encode in flv format. it looks like you have a large resolution 1440p+ as well but only capture a smaller portion of your screen?
YOU DIE IN REAL LIFE. But other than that, here's what happens... it's complicated: When your hull integrity fails, your ship is destroyed. It becomes a wreck (space debris) and a random amount of the modules and cargo you had onboard are left in the wreck as loot anyone can take. You can in theory recover some of your lost assets, though if you were murdered odds are your killer will take them. If you chose to insure your ship, you will also be reimbursed with a payment based on the insurance plan you signed up for. When your ship blows up, it will also eject your life support capsule ("pod"), a tiny defenseless craft that houses your actual body. If you get your pod to a station, you can enter a new ship or be granted a free (crappy) newbie ship. If however your pod is destroyed, your character will physically die. You will lose all brain implants your character has (which are typically expensive). You will then respawn in a clone of yourself at the last facility where you created a medical clone. If you didn't make a clone, or your clone is outdated, you will lose skill points (experience) based on how much of a difference your last body and your clone had.
WiNGSPAN TT I see, thanks for the answer! Another question: if it's such a big loss for the player that "died", why people destroy even the support capsules? I mean, if you destroy a player's ship you can have his modules and profit with that, but if you destroy the support capsule, you get nothing more and the other player loses something he took so long to achieve, am I right?
Matheus Moreira That is a very good question. There are a few reasons. First, if there is a battle (i.e. it's not just a random fight but a planned engagement), destroying someone's pod, money, and time can help your side win. If your opponents are forced to respawn very far away and without their powerful implants, it will make it much harder for them to get back on the front lines and fight your fleet. You may even slowly bankrupt their side of the war for a more long-term victory. Second, it sends a message. It is a very big monetary and emotional loss for some players to get pod-killed. So if you destroy capsules, it is a more stern warning that could mean "stay out of our space" or "next time don't ally with our enemies" or just "we are badass pirates... fear us!" Third, extortion. You can threaten a player who has lost their ship and say that if they don't pay you X in-game currency, you will blow up their pod. Obviously this kind of threat only works if you follow through when they don't pay. Or you know, blow them up anyway. Fourth, bragging rights. EVE automatically logs every ship, person, and building you destroy. Many players enjoy posting and boasting about their most expensive kill. Or perhaps they podded someone famous, etc. Of course there are some players who don't pod-kill, so it's not by any means universal. But I hope you understand due to reasons 1-4 why a lot of people do it.
WiNGSPAN TT Yeah, I got it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be the "e-moralist" or the "virtual prayer", I'm just trying to understand the other side. I think the 1st reason is very fair and the 2nd reason can be fair when in self defense. However, the 3rd and 4th reasons are way too selfish to my standards. When extorting in-game money you're not extorting just a virtual currency, but a virtual currency that the player took months to get, months paid with real money. In other words, you're extorting the result of dozens of real hours and real money of investment. About bragging, I think the same logic can be applied: ending up a big real investment of a player just to have a name on a list. Again, don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to understand something new to me. I know EVE is a very prized and awesome game and no one is obligated to play it, but I think some games rely so much on "real life" long-term efforts that "killing for fun" shouldn't be considered as ok as it is on Dota or Mortal Kombat. But again, I'm an outsider and this is just an opinion. I don't mean to offend or be disrespectful in any way, man!
Matheus Moreira No offense taken. That said, my main thinking point here is this: only a certain percentage of players in EVE earn their ISK clean. The stuff you take or destroy is just as likely to have been stolen by someone else. Even industry players may have backstabbed, lied, and extorted other traders to get where they are. And, of course, those players chose to spend a lot of money on certain ships or implants. They could have chosen instead to spent their ISK hiring bodyguards, or renting safer space, or buying a harder-to-kill ship!
The miners last thought "Back to... FUCK!! Why the fuck am I in station! God damn it. You know what, I didn't want that ship anyway." *Logoff*
Wait, do you actually work at CCP?
WiNGSPAN TT Yes, he does.
I've watched your other EVE videos, but I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I've forgotten the thrill of those early kills as a new player, and I was laughing the whole way through that video. Great stuff.

Oh god dude, I love you and your videos. I appreciate them especially as I've been playing stealth killers trough my MMO career during the years.
Your videos are so hilarious to watch and remind me so much of myself when I was doing my first kills in Ultima Online (pre-trammel!)
Thank you again :)
o7 I also favor stealth approaches in every game (I'm sure my video history shows this). Glad you enjoyed the vids!
That 'Successful Delivery' Mail at the end got me. :P Great Vid!
Wingspan your bomber series is grade-A hilarity. Thanks for this!
Reminded me of my first kills, the excitement, the drama, and the fact that I did not have enough room in my cargo hold for the loot either. Thanx for a great vid and for the trip down memory lane. Keep it up :)
I'm so happy you got so excited. That feeling when you successfully gank someone is just beautiful
Loved it. Loved everything about it.
"You don't go AFK! YOU DONT GO AFK!"
"I don't have room for any of this stuff"
This is one of those rare videos to me that actually made me laugh, thank you for this, and as this is one of your older videos, I will certainly check out some recent stuff! :)
+FreakonsGameRations thanks for watching
your excitement made an otherwise slow video into something epic. thanks for posting.
That mail at the end was the icing on the cake :D
(or salt on the wound, depending on which side you're on)
This is amazing. I'm getting a 21 day trial of Eve (thanks Scott Manley!) and I can't wait to live the n00b experience!
Scott is a bro.
This is another one of those games where you can have someone play for you and you can sit in a big chair behind them going "DIVERT POWER TO MAIN THRUSTERS, WARP ON MY GO" and have it actually mean something. (also I lol'd hard at your message keep it up torpedo mailman) :)
Unfortunately for my victims, they diverted power from their shields to their tear ducts.
This made me chuckle almost as much as the mail.
The trolling of the "delivery" was impresive hilarious... seriously best 2 days of info ever xD
lol brilliant. you never fall short of being a true steward of entertaining eve gameplay. keep up the great videos and cheers from fcon :)
lol that destroying the destroyer wreck to wipe out the evidence was hilarious.
You forgot to take the frozen corpse!
Perv!
WiNGSPAN TT I have a station can filled with corpses.
WiNGSPAN TT Same here. I don't pod people often, but when I do, I throw their corpses in my "Trophies" can :)
WiNGSPAN TT ignore Alttwo, its a fake character to try and get wardecs/bounties on the real Alttwo.
*****
Well, whatever you say.
Wow got the pod that was great and lucky.
So few things to critique on and just helpful hints.
So before you uncloak you can overheat all modules before you uncloak so your first round of torps will be overheated as well.
Woah I had no clue. Will my modules begin taking damage immediately or only once they are online?
So the modules won't start taking damage till you activate them and you uncloak and that is all off your based off your thermodynamic skill lvl and such.
Hey nice video.
pro tip: you can overheat by shift clicking on the module.
Woah thanks, that is WAY easier than trying to hit that tiny bar.
This was so exciting to watch man!
Lol. Your glee and hyperventiliating on this kill had me laughing. Good to see you enjoying yourself in EVE still.
quite good for a young player !
good situational awareness !
just paranoid enough !
great smack mail !
love it.
suggestions: rearrange your offensive mods: f1 to f3: disruptor, torps, target painter. s you can just crtl+click to target and have your mods hot with pressing f1,f2,f3
one of the best solo run video with commentaries!!! keep it up
Not only is he learning but having a lot of fun! And I am having fun doing the same. Love your videos :-)
Why exactly you destroy the wreck?
So no one will know someone was killed there
I love how you get so excited over killing a barge. reminds me of my first time.
love seeing new eve content coming to youtube, great job btw
this was really entertaining and relateable with the paranoia at the start. when u wrote that letter, oh man i was nearly in tears!!! hahaha well done
WiNGSPAN!! That was awesome! And EXACTLY what its like flying a stealth bomber. Way to nail the sweaty palms, nervousness and scared $h!tless pit in your stomach when targeting and blowing up an industrial...and then PODDING the pilot! WooHoo!
okay okay so this is how it all began now in learning haha
Oh man, the Evemail at the end made it all worth it.

Of course, the Venture has a Point, then everyone else warps in, hunter becomes the hunted... ;)
That was absolutely hilarious. Keep the EVE videos up, I love them!
Wingspan is the greatest troll ever! This video was so entertaining! Although I am curious about the guy's reaction to that email :)
that eve mail was epic It would put a smile on my face if i lost ship like that :)
Enjoyable video. :D
Means a lot coming from Marlona. Thanks.
WiNGSPAN TT love is in the air..
Scott?
why
RUclips COMMENTS ABOUT VIDEOGAMES: SO SERIOUS
The whole time I'm watching this I'm thinking "Yep, he knows nothing, he's definitely gonna die..." I WAS WRONG! hahaha. Congrats bro! WELCOME TO NEW EDEN!
Couple questions:
1. What do you do for a secondary income?
2. Why do you keep 1 target painter offline?
Congrats! While a bit paranoid you did it right and avoided doing the stupid mistakes most do. Hope to see you in space!
Awesome vid man :) Even though I've played EVE for over 3 years, I've never tried SB'ing before... But seems like something I definately should try out xD
That email at the end was absolutely hilarious.
I can feel the adrenaline in your vids.. I love it.
Hey besides the 2mil isk thing he picked up whats the point of killing those guys? Like what else do you gain. Im not saying its wrong in any way im just wondering what you gain from it.
Notoriety.
centralofmental the most valuable resource in all of EVE: tears
centralofmental I'm killing people for their corpses. And its always +1 to kb.
centralofmental
The thrill of the hunt.
I remember when I killed my first Buzzard... I had to wait and keep looking for prey in numerous systems, took 3 days but eventually I got him.
It was hilarious, he dropped a sisters scanner probe too and I tricked him into paying me ransom as well, lol.
centralofmental You kidding, did you notice how much fun he had? :D
hahah, that was cool! I lived the EVErush with you! :D
LOL your videos are freakin hilarious! I think you laugh as much as I do playing eve
Nice video :)
When not in Empire space, paranoia keeps you alive... I spent so much time in 0.0 I forgot not to watch my back and scan and align carefully in 1.0 space...lol
That eve mail was epic. How could you be mad with customer service like that LOL
The post-gank message got me. Hilarious.
you can take out battlecruisers and battleships as well if you remember to equip a smart bomb to deal with drones, just be careful around a domi or a myrimidon which carry a lot of replacement drones, and fast tracking sentries :)
it appears you got pretty secured mind set, quality vid.
although its like a tiger hunting for a daydreaming sheep, and panic so long to do it :P
anyway thumb up for you :)
I cant believe how happy this guy is.
not the 4th best you are the best in my opinion. The most fun keep it up my man
Yay for Chance Ravinne's first no. 2!
enforcing the code even in wormhole space. james 315 bless you
That email at the end was worth everything.
That was fucking awsome!
Subscribed, you sir are both a gentleman and a ruffian!
Love your videos man, what steath bomber do you like to use the best?
This was brilliant!
Very nice troll mail :).
Thanks so much for this video I lolled for a whole hour and every time I think about it I lol some more. :) o7
These vids are awesome. I love the fact that you show the "freak out" leading up to the engagement. If I ever get to the point where my hands arent shaking and heart pounding as I go to decloak it will be time to leave EVE
Great commentary ... AWESOME!
I remember when I enjoyed eve this much, those were good times.
When did they update the graphics from eve ?
I like how this is set all epic-like. And it's only a t1 mining barge kill.
Only thing I would suggest is aligning to your safe so if you do get trapped you can just warp out right away. Fun vid though!
Don't bother with all the hate in the comments. I really enjoyed your video, especially the comment. The fear was real. Keep on doing great work!
Nice! Great video. I have been playing for years, but just getting into the solo SB aspect of the game, so this was very helpful. Very nice video. I'm still wondering if I should start playing this.
Love it :D I suck at PvP my self, but would like to try something like this. But I freak out and screw everything up.
Same here, tried some Factional Warfare and blew up so fast.
Just don't forget to gf afterwards.
I wanna hear your voice when you make kill number 1000 ;) enjoyable vid, keep it up. Plus i recognize your voice from the eve trailer. ;P

Beautifully done sir.
I'm thinking i'd love to know the response to the after-kill email :P
Haha great video, man. It was "hilARious".
what is ur stealth bombers fit
waaaaaaaay too excited for a little sneaky kill ;)
How hard were your hands shaking before you hit that decloak button? Better yet, how hard were they shaking when you warped out?
I'll never get tired of that feeling. Nice kill.
11:30 I'm on the edge of my freaking seat and breathing hard! just shoot already! lol
i truely wish i got this excited again, fly dangerous o7
Why would you pod kill? do pods drop anything worthwhile?
Tears, mostly.
Er asmus
Implants are destroyed, they never drop. Although you can get the corpse if you're into that kind of stuff.
If they have expensive implants they make for a nice killmail.
Your vid was so much fun ^^ & StealthBombers are so much fun it's just silly \o/
MORE OF THIS PLEASE
Never seen someone making such a scene out of destroying an AFK. Wow.
Sorry, i got to ask. What was the point in killing them ?
i always picture bomber pilots just like him
hey man - i love your video's! i am trying to make some videos for my corp/alliance and i am having issues with recording and encoding in 1440p. i was wondering if you wouldn't mind giving me some advise on how you are doing your eve recordings/encodings? cheers!
I record in FRAPS at full resolution, 30 frames per second. Encoding is a little more complicated but I encode in .FLV files in Premier with like 7-8mbps target rate.
WiNGSPAN TT
thanks a ton man! i will look into how to encode in flv format. it looks like you have a large resolution 1440p+ as well but only capture a smaller portion of your screen?
nomadman86 That's right, I actually have two monitors set up (so 1080p x2)
Funny vid. Get the wreck, get the wreck, get the wreck, get the wreck... oh, I don't have any room. The letdown... LOL
I want to read the replays to those orders.
Ahahah man you are so funny!
Good video, and keep posting others!!!
did he call you again for your services ? =)
Congratz. You geeked a Miner - less worth than a Industrial......
Am i getting this right ? This video is about him killing an afk ? Really?!
Good job dude. Really good job xD
What happens if you die in this game?
YOU DIE IN REAL LIFE.
But other than that, here's what happens... it's complicated:
When your hull integrity fails, your ship is destroyed.
So if you destroy capsules, it is a more stern warning that could mean "stay out of our space" or "next time don't ally with our enemies" or just "we are badass pirates... fear us!"
Third, extortion.
LOLZ... This is so funny and awesome!!!
The fourth best RUclips commentator... no offense but if you were I would of heard of you. Great video though.
i know right, if you use headphones you can listen to the warp coming in
even if you scanner doesnt detect it
loved the email!!
