Produced by Ben McGarvey (aka Minute Taker). Performed using voice, looping (Boss RC-300), synth (microkorg), distorted drums & glockenspiel.

On any given day you might find Minute Taker, aka alternative singer-songwriter Ben McGarvey, wandering the windy, wiley moors near his house in the Pennine hills, England.
Inspired by the likes of Kate Bush, Tori Amos, David Bowie and Björk, along with Alfred Hitchcock movies and all things mysterious and otherworldly, Minute Taker’s critically acclaimed music has been capturing the imagination of fans all around the world since his debut album in 2008.
Described by NOTION as "beautiful electronic-orientated pop songs” and THE GUARDIAN as “epic, otherworldly sounds”, Minute Taker’s unique blend of emotive vocals, haunting piano motifs, distorted electronic beats and ethereal synths conjure up strange and inviting other worlds, perfect for escaping into.
Valuing the peaceful creativity of his day to day life in the countryside, Minute Taker has never been one to reach for the dizzying heights of pop stardom and instead loves to write and record in his quirky little home studio in the company of his 2 cats and dog. And unlike many artists who keep their followers at arm’s length, he enjoys a rare close connection with fans by personally replying to messages and hosting live videos, chatting openly about the ideas behind his songs.
His recent official remixes for synth-pop artists Yazoo and Erasure along with his cover versions of Pet Shop Boys’ “Heart” and Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” have hinted at the direction of his upcoming album “WOLF HOURS”…
“Growing up in the 80s I’ve always felt such a connection to the music and culture of the decade and wanted to make a modern 80s album that creates that sense of comfort and warm nostalgia, like a trip back to your childhood home when modern life feels too much”.
The album’s first two singles “Hearts (We’ll Never Know)” and “Not Afraid” are out now with accompanying music videos.
