Daniel is the teacher that becomes immortal as he will forever be remembered as the teacher that nurtured and released the creative talents of his students. Lucy is an inspiration her talent is breathtaking. What a wonderful story.
Bless you Daniel. The world needs more educators like yourself. Children look up to sports figures , Superhero's, and various others, but in reality, the special education teachers are the true hero's.
Agree agree agree, why are the danials of this world nit being given the awards, amazing man, thankyou danial and thankyou lucy, you have an amazing talent
Lucy’s teacher is a very special man to have the ability and to give Lucy the capability to play. i’m in awe of them both. truly they have been given both very special gifts from God. They are both incredible ❤
There really is something special about them. We tend to concentrate on the people with the "disability" and how amazing it is that they have overcome. Almost no one recognizes the teachers or caregivers for these special people. My best friends mother is not a sevant, but she's an amazing woman who has overcome MS for the last 40 years, and still lives her life to the fullest. Human Interation, going out to dinner twice a week, living with constant agonizing pain, but gritting through it to support her children and husband. In my story, my life, her husband is just as big as a hero, just as brave, and maybe even more worth looking upto. He takes care of her every need, he is this music teacher, he is the care taker of "rainman" he devoted his life to the woman he loves, for better or worse, and the children they had together. The care takers truly are a special type of person, a class unto their own. As different as the sevants are from you and I, that is also how different these care takers are from you and I. Its special, it's worth recognition, it's worth our awe.
It also should be mentioned how DIFFICULT it is for most people with autism to allow others to touch them. It's an immense sign of trust that she allows Daniel to guide her hand, reach around her and tickle her head for focusing. I think it's beautiful to witness how the human body can react to something powerful as music. All her reactions would describe the music even if you muted the video. For example, in the last part running down the high keys almost tickles her soul where as the lower bass movement feels like it's providing ground for her "walking" feet. Stunning.
The dedication and the patience of the man is quite amazing. This incredible man is more deserving of knighthood than the whole bunch of lackeys and kiss-arse politicians who are knighted.
Daniel Bath, you are the most patient giving man I have ever seen. you deserve an OBE, Thank you for taking the time to give this young lady the skills to play beautiful music. Also Lucy is an amazing person and I send you both my tenderest love.
I am autistic and mother to autistic twins. They're both nonverbal, and music is an integral part to help them learn things, express themselves, and connect to the world. It's really quite amazing to me. Thank you for this video.
My son is 11 and non verbal. He started piano lessons in April as his one to one support teacher at school discovered that he picked up songs very easily on the school piano. We started on the "beginner" piano books but they bored him. Within a month he was tackling Chopin and Mozart and is doing so well. Am so proud of him and he constantly surprises me ❤

I can't begin to express how much I'm in awe of two people I didn't know existed before today. Two people who have made it clear to me that our governments spend far too much on weapons and wars and far too little on humanity. God bless you both for showing what happens when we invest with our hearts first.
The relationship between Daniel and Lucy is incredibly important they are showing what can be achieved with the right teacher for the student. Lucy can show everyone what people with autism can do and Daniel is showing autistic children can do, I hope Daniel can train more music teachers to be like him and give a way to unlock a whole new world for them
This man is a true hero to be able to make a sad thing and turn it into the most beautiful thing. You can't help but love the inspiration this little lady gives.
I love her piano teacher. He is awesome. He has learned to work with Lucy's disabilities so he can help her get the most out of her talent. Lucy has a wonderful talent she has! I'm a pianist and I'm impressed with this, and happy for her.
She is a wonderful young genius . It did not happen alone . It took a supportive loving devoted mother and a saint of a musician devoting his life to helping others in complex circumstances . Hats off to the three of you and your resolve . You bring joy to the rest of us .
When so many things around us are horrible and depressing, what an utter joy and blessing it is to see this beautiful child make such beautiful music, with the help of this wonderful man. Thanks be to God for people like this. Lucy is a treasure.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
God bless Daniel for his special teaching abilities with Lucy. We need more experts like him in the special education system. His patience with Lucy is endearing. What a wonderful person he is.

Having seen Lucy perform on Channel 4’s “The Piano” I was delighted to fond this video. As the father of a son with Aspergers who took up the clarinet at Primary school and has since gone on to get grade 8 in both clarinet and tenor sax, studied music and performance at uni and through the Northampton music service played with their wind band at many local, national and international events Cannot endorse enough the benefits of great music teachers and the joy they bring to countless young musicians, their families and audiences. It is a shame that the government does not put more value on the arts and spend more of our taxes on these services. I had never heard of the Amber Trust before today but shall take time to learn more about your wonderful work and try and support you in this great journey. Thank you to Lucy, her mum Candice and Daniel for an inspiring story and beautiful performance. Heart warming. ❤
Well said.! I was thinking at first- what struggles for this poor girl ....by the end of the videos...I was crying because she has such wonderful people around her. A mom who seems to treasure her. I think now that she is a lucky girl. Some of us don't have any support or kind parents. I am one. I wish her all the best 🙂🌈💜
Daniel you are a real shining light in these crazy times sir.. the love and help you have given this wonderful young lady your patience, guidence and perseverance fills us with awe, what an ispiration you are.. Your mother Lucy is an angel and you are a beautiful young lady that sends shivers of happines down our spines .. can't wait to see and hear you play again .. one of millions of new fans you now have and will have in the future
Their interaction is nothing short of spectacular. How he was able to figure out effective communication with her is amazing. They, together, are very special. She can play, and he gives her what she needs, to play more, and better. I cried. At times like these, I take stock of my abilities, physical and mental, and ask myself what I've done with them, and why. I'm, most often, embarrassed by my answer.
she is a truly remarkable young girl and she got her reward for all her hard work on channel 4s the piano by being picked for the show in London, her performance tonight made my cry, also a big shout out to the Amber trust for guiding her
I have seen great things in my lifetime but never have I ever seen something as incredible as this. This is so moving ❤ It’s like an outer body experience ✨
“You can’t teach anyone anything, you can only help them learn.” That maxim, which I first read 50 years ago in either John Holt’s How Children Fail, or Ivan Illich’s Deschooling Society, needs to be adopted throughout the entire education system. It helped me greatly in my varied teaching career.
I don't know which one is more amazing, but you have to have incredible talent to be able to bring someone like Lucy's talent out. She's is going to be able to make her own way in the world.
I guess most of us are here because of Lang Lang and huge shoutout to Daniel for his guidance to Lucy! Can't wait to see the final episode of The Piano when she takes on the big stage at the Royal Festival Hall!
Knowing Dan if an award was offered he’d just laugh make a very odd pun and not accept it. I’ve known Dan a long time now, he is a truly wonderful and generous man, a remarkable musician and one of the most modest people you could ever meet. It’s always an honour to play music with him. I wish we could get an award for him, but he genuinely wouldn’t understand why anyone would want to give him one, he doesn’t see anything he does as a big deal.
Wow, this young lady with all her hardships has achieved more in her 13 years than we will do in a lifetime. I am 76 years old and not an emotional person but she moved me to tears. Michael h.
I've never been a huge classical music fan but I could listen to her play for hours on end. Thank you Daniel for working with such a beautiful soul the world needs more people like you and Lucy in it!
I'm in tears! Tears of joy! Bless you Daniel for having the patience and love to teach Lucy the love of music, which IS the most powerful magic there is!
Dear Adam Okleford - l am grandmother to 11 year old Ben who is severely autistic, non verbal with many complex physical problems. I've never seen someone more connected to the source. I can't imagine the bliss she must feel while producing her melodies. Thank you for your gift, Lucy. I am humbled and grateful.
I love to see the pleasure that Lucy gets from playing. She has such huge challenges in her life, and she's happy. Like the teacher said after Lucy played at the Royal Festival Hall..."It's just a wonderful thing that makes you glad to be alive". Look at all these comments, and the reaction from her audiences, it brings a bit of joy and wonder into all our lives.
People like Daniel are true Earth Angels. You've definitely earned your wings. What a blessing for children with real challenges and that he helps them discover their joy through creating music. It's also a reminder to the rest of us without neurological challenges and/or blindness, etc. to turn off or throw out the televisions and start CREATING. Art is very personal and you can be in JOY when painting or taking up an instrument, or gardening as well. If you've been 'gifted' with sight, functioning hearing and a hand or two that works - get off the sofa and Create! Life is too short to sit around and waste it watching characters on the televisions creating from a script. Where is YOUR SCRIPT? Get at it people!!
I totally agree. Adding value to another human being is extraordinary and by doing that Daniel is at the level of significance. Thanks Daniel we really need significant people like you.
This is absolutely incredible. Never underestimate the power of the human spirit, as Lucy has so eloquently shown us here. What a remarkable young lady.
I envy Daniel for having such a personally fulfilling job. People with strong characters tend to gravitate towards each other. Daniel and Lucy are an example of that I think.
Lucy's performance is out of this world, and I'd like to extend my heart-felt thanks and appreciation to all heros at Amber Trust, especially to Daniel. It's your patience and love for Lucy that made her music so beautiful!
I saw Lucy’s first clip on the Channel 4 and I’ve been amazed by the talent she possesses. Daniel is an excellent teacher and deserves all the flowers that comes with the work he’s providing.
I am just in awe of Lucy. She is an incredible young lady with phenomenal musical talents. Her parents must be so proud of her and as for Daniel , he is just a remarkable man and he deserves so much of the credit.
Lucy and her teacher are truly amazing. Music obviously makes her very happy. God has given her a marvellous gift. It's lovely to see how much fun she gets from it. Her teacher has so much patience with her and also gets joy from hearing her plan, and playing with her. ❤
The confluence of two geniuses have made it possible to produce such amazing talent. Both teacher and student are quite extraordinary. Bravissimo to Daniel and Lucy.
Extraordinaire professeur et fascinante petite fille . La maman de Lucy a fait un merveilleux travail de patience et d'abnégation pour cet enfant attachante . Longue et belle vie à Lucy .
Both Lucy and Daniel are a blessing to us. Through them we get a wonderful understanding of God and his love and care for us through each other. God bless us one and all.
My daughter is autistic and I am still watching this and Daniel nails it , "self directed" that articulates my thoughts of my girl. My girl is now 25 working in theatre and just got a mortgage by herself. I am so glad, like Lucys mam, I never listened to a lot of teachers until st An drews School in Leatherhead Surrey who BELIEVED. Way to go Lucys mam and family
Yes, Mr. Daniel has amazing insight, patience, understanding, dedication, loving care, and professional expertise. His interactions with Lucy in more than one video clips is like a father to a daughter. What a heart warming example to all of us. God bless you and yours, Mr. Daniel.
One of God’s very special children , she’s beautiful, pure of heart, no malice. Lucy has a front row seat to the right hand of our creator. May God continue to bless her and this wonderful teacher.🙏🏻❤️
At first, I was wondering if she just copied the teacher very well, but now I know that she doesn't because she pushes his hands away and improvises. What an unbelievable young girl and fantastic teacher.
So happy she has met such an amazing teacher to open up her potential in music. I like how he mentioned how important it is to have the parents involved too in what their child is tought.
This is the kind of person who should be included in the honours list for his work .
indeed, and I was saddened he was not with Lucy at the Coronation.

I hope Daniel lives a long life so Lucy can reach her full potential.
Lucy is just fantastic and so is her teacher! :)
Daniel is the Helen Keller of the music world. Thank God for him,Lucy is a complete success now. She can only go on and on in her musical journey.
Extraordinaire professeur et fascinante petite fille . La maman de Lucy a fait un merveilleux travail de patience et d'abnégation pour cet enfant attachante . Longue et belle vie à Lucy .
This wonderful man deserves everything that the county has to offer. God bless him

This teacher is absolutely exceptional - as gifted as his pupil in my opinion. What a fabulous couple of people!
This is truly amazing story… the teacher ability to teach Lucy is incredible!
I am so glad, like Lucys mam, I never listened to a lot of teachers until st An

Lucy is gifted, and so is her amazing teacher. I wonder if he could have imagined at the beginning how far they would go?
At first, I was wondering if she just copied the teacher very well, but now I know that she doesn't because she pushes his hands away and improvises. What an unbelievable young girl and fantastic teacher.
Teacher is like Aristotle. May you continue to be blessed. 💕🇬🇧
So happy she has met such an amazing teacher to open up her potential in music. I like how he mentioned how important it is to have the parents involved too in what their child is tought.
Daniel you are an amazing teacher, such patience. You can see Lucy gets such joy with playing the piano.
Can you imagine what the original composer works think of this? Just mind blowing.
