Whoever lost monies from owning shares in Telecom Eireann back then deserved to lose those monies. It was one of the worst business ideas in the history of Ireland.
Everyone involved in this ad campaign and privatisation of Telecom Eireann should have been jailed for criminal misconduct. Anyone foolish enough to have invested in this share offer scheme lost everything.
One of the biggest mistakes the Irish State made was selling Telecom Éireann, look at the mess it is now, rurak communities left without broadband because there isn’t a state company to provide it
