      @@NeverStopImprovingSB I have to give you major props on this video. It could not be more thorough, enjoyable, and non-pretentious. You're not even filled with Satanic tattoos (Satanism = vanity as a virtue). And you STRESS SAFETY.
      My favorite part about the video is, 'Hey, let's go ahead and fall. Don't worry about it, you ARE GOING TO FALL AND IT'S OK. Let's do it.' I watch you land it and fall, and it's ok. Major fear totally HANDLED!
      You could not have done a better job!

    I already know how to do this trick but I have to say this is a really solid tutorial. Especially for beginner tricks, holistic tutorials that also explain ways to overcome the mental barrier with practice falls or fake falls are really the next level in "skate didactics". It's really interesting to see how in the last years more and more skate tutorials start addressing these subtle but important points.

      I did beginner’s aikido and it helped tremendously with overcoming this fear. A big part of aikido is perfecting falls, rolls and tumbles. In turn my skateboarding got better.

    To anyone wondering why this looks like a re-upload of the video I posted ~14 hours ago: It is a re-upload, but with an important section of information added (at 6:29) to explain that when you pop the trick, you have to jump forward towards your toes in order to stay over top of the board and be able to land on it with both feet.
    The previous upload was missing this information entirely, so I felt the need to make a new edit to fix the issue and make sure everyone has the best tutorial possible with all of the relevant information.
    Thanks to MrLethal1986 for pointing out the omission, and I hope everyone has success with this trick!!

    Landed my first few pop shoves on Apr 11th. Now I'm just trying to get them consistent while moving.
    But a good tip I've found is to practice while moving because when I learned how to ollie I could only do it standing still and it took me a month or so to do them good while moving, Its the same with the pop shove it too, even though its a bit trickier

    You’re great at explaining, but personally I don’t like the rush/ the learn this trick in x minutes. Skateboarding takes a lot of time, and that’s fine. No need to get frustrated if you don’t learn a trick in days of weeks, or months even. Practice, practice, practice. Patience is the name of the game 😉

      This is the true mindset of a successful skateboarder. I decided to make a couple of videos like this to hopefully get some people who (for now) have a little bit shorter attention spans into the sport and 'hooked' on the progression and accomplishment you get from skateboarding, but I completely agree, the end goal is to be patient, be willing to cope with failure, and never give up on your goals (and eventually achieve them and way more!)

      My advice is that you either have to jump higher or do something about the fear of committing to landing on the board (like falling on purpose!). Another possibility is you could practice what it feels like to land on it by taking the trucks off of your board and doing the trick on carpet a bunch of times

    • @NeverStopImprovingSB
      @NeverStopImprovingSB  Год назад

      for the pop shuvit, having skate shoes isn't as important as for most other tricks since you aren't sliding your shoe along the grip tape. I think it could work!

    • @NeverStopImprovingSB

      Actually, I would recommend learning the ollie first. It's easier, and it'll give you a much better starting point for learning the pop shuvit.

    If you really don’t wanna get hurt bad when skating.. practice ur falling off a higher ledge until you can jump off a cliff with no fall damage

      make sure you're popping down with your back foot first before you do the spinny motion, and make sure you're not subconsciously leaning towards the nose of the board when you go to jump
