The Luna looks like a hero ship to me. I would love for Frakes to come back and do a mini-series about the Titan.
As an exploration ship, I think it'd fit something a little closer to Trek than everything exploding in Disco.

This is one of my favorite ships in the Star Trek universe especially the ISS version. I have always loved the nacelles being below the saucer section. Visually stunning and quite intriguing. As always, please continue making it so.
You know what I love? Geeks, geeking out, having a massive amount of fun whilst doing so and sharing that experience with as many people as possible.

I liked the direction starfleet went to with new ship classes. Even science ships, where very well armed and shielded I guess this was a rethink after the dominion war
Its almost like starfleet finally realized that they needed to have their ships to have more backbone and less science shit
Fearless 512 Ironically the Luna-class is STILL not as well-armed for it’s size as it could be. It’s more like the Federation had gotten lazy and after the Borg showed up they realized they’d been slumping on defensive armaments and brought it back up. Notably, while trying half as hard as all the other species they still win all of their wars anyway and recover much, much faster then their enemies.

maybe he is specialized in security measures... maybe starship running and mission oversight isnt interesting to him? maybe... he has a security clearence and training that makes him a perfect security officer for even the most classified of star ship operations
I think in Starfleet, one has the choice of staying at a lower rank as long as they excel at it. Ryker was asked to become a Captain (O-6) with his in ship, I think 2-3 times during the TNG. But he decided to stay on the Enterprise serving safely under Picard. #DaddyIssues
Aurora Uplinks he needs to do better. He’s constantly knocked out and intruders usually get the best of him when they board unexpectedly.

saquist It was what this one ended up being as i cranked up the bitrate from what i used to use! a normal 1 parter at the 28min mark we tend to strive for is just over a gig normally.
faster upload speeds in the house mean i can upload larger files...better for everyone!

As I recall there were very few nacelle pylons hit which resulted in the engines leaving the ship. Then in the latest movie they pretty much do it with ease like nobody had ever thought of it before as an attack strategy. LOL Looks like I found a good place to get my Trek on. Nice vid.

I really like this class of ship. I ended up getting a resin kit of the ISS version with the saucer separation ability and plan to finish it as a Federation ship.
Always felt that the Luna Class was the follow-on to the Akira Class, since it shows a certain design similarity, and because the nacelles on the Luna are basically an up-rated version of the Akira's.
Sorry to be contrary, but the first Star Trek: Titan book "Taking Wing" tells us that the Titan had a total of (8) shuttlecraft, all Type XI; later a Flyer-Class Runabout was added.
The deflector dish could be fixed with a more detailed rendering. The current one looks to use only a few polygons. Sticking a soft blue glow out front would be a start. Then when the deflector dish is off, the glow disappears leaving a copper color hull.
I prefer the lunar class variant USS Apollo which the nacelle flipped up and there’s a solid support for the sensor pod.
So do I. I'd love to see a 3-d model of it.
The Luna-Class Ships looks mostly like i would have refittet the Ares Class Warships ;)
For me, I think the side view and the nacells are the leased liked aspect of the ship. If the pod was either removed or moved backwards towards the engineering section, I think the profile would be much better.
The AWACs aircraft is a Boeing E-3 Sentry, not a DC-10. The E-3s were based on the Boeing 707s.

Riker and the USS Titan need to be part of the Discovery series. Especially the aquatic species, insectoid species, etc. We just haven't seen enough of that on Star Trek.

I've been reading the Titan novels recently. Wesley was never part of the crew there. In the novel-verse, he's still with the Traveler.
I believe the Wesley is based on video game or comic book sources and not the novel's...
It was from a live action "experience" that included Tim Russ and Will Wheaten in costume with the physical Titan model.

I'm ok with listing stuff from books under the category of "canon until disproved by a higher medium" but if you gonna include something as silly as that as canon you have to include the comedy bit that had the Cast of Frasier on the bridge of Voyager.

Size isn't length, you guys need to take into account the way if you increase length the volume increase is the square of that.

- A Dual Warp Core wouldn't give TITAN 65% the power of the Sovereign. NOT only is Sovereign's core the same size as Galaxy's Core but it also has 6 additional intermix streams.
According to Commander LaForge an additional stream is 14% more power. So if Sovereign's Galaxy equivalent size with 6 streams that's 184% the power of Galaxy.
65% of Sovereigns Warp Power would be 120% of Galaxy and there is NO way a two smaller warp cores are generating 120% Galaxy Warp Power unless they are burning through a hell of a lot more of reactants which would be against the interest of a long range explorer.
-Remember Warp Core Power out directly relates to the Shield and Phaser fire output. If the phasers are only 65% Sovereign then so are the shields. What TITAN can have is Regenerative Shields.
-Sovereign's Warp speed is unknown but likely bellow Galaxy's Redline speed of warp 9.2. Since it was caught by the far larger Scimitar in Nemeis
-TITAN is unlikely to be very maneuverable at sublight. While the impulse engines are large they are not placed outboard for maximum thrust vectoring
TITAN's power levels should be better than Voyager and on par with Akira which also has a dual core.

I say this every time the TItan comes up, but while I like the design I pictured the Titan as being a huge ship (a 'titan' if you will) because there is no way Riker would accept anything smaller than the Enterprise in my mind.
Ok, if you arent going to do the uss akyazi, do this from trekyards. Uss titan from starship modeler.....honestly a better evolution, the excelsior/enterprise b to a vs enterprise e vs titan class......its actually bigger too which is implied by titan.
I am sure the captain would of been able to push the uss titan up to closer to the Soverigine class with field upgrade
My very personal opinion:
From the beginning, I wasn't really thrilled that this ship of all ships should represent William T. Riker's ship and thus the USS Titan.
The design is by no means bad and fits perfectly into the design line of that time. As a ship of the Luna class, it's perfectly acceptable to me. Except as the USS Titan for William T. Riker. Already the name of the ship "Titan" suggests something completely different to me personally and I want to see something completely different than a Luna class. Because when I hear or read the word "Titan", I think of a giant in human form and a powerful gender of gods. That's why I would have liked to see a Sovereign Class ship, or a sister ship to the USS Enterprise, as Riker's Titan... Alternatively, an Insignia-class starship...

I think the Luna's profile and compact nature looks like a better warship than the Sovereign. It looks a bit more like the successor to the Akira.
I like the British guy, but the other dude seems very contentious and confident of his tenuous knowledge of Star Trek. Sounds like an egomaniac. I wouldn't be able to work with him.

Never liked the chunky nacelles. They should behave been more Sovereign/Nova/Prometheus looking. The bridge is supreme though. Never liked sovereign interiors one bit.
