I used to hate the singing girls in the US Tidal Tempest Present, but to see them used so perfectly here... It brings a tear to my eye. A tear of concentrated happiness and amazement.
I've been listening to this for a few months now, and I just realized that this is 11 YEARS OLD!!! What happened to this guy? He hasn't uploaded anything in 4 years.
Tidal Tempest had, in my opinion, the best music in both the US and JAP/EU soundtracks of the game. The mashup takes two great things and produces something I could listen to all day. Really awesome work, Dill Tasker!
All these years later and I still come back kicking to this. These mashups you made are some of the best I've ever heard still to this very day. If you were to ever do the other zones I'm sure they would be great but if not thank you for what you've already produced thus far. These are awesome
To be fair, Tidal Tempest wasn't that annoying. The water sections were literally HUGE, and there was like an air bubble pocket every 5 feet lmao. Still can't beat Hydrocity though :/

Here's proof that the ENTIRE Sonic CD sound track is awesome, wether its the american version, or the japanese/european version! And that the Fresh Prince is, indeed, the king! XD

I think both tracks are good, but ultimately, I prefer the U.S. one, since that's the one I grew up with. Surprisingly, these songs actually blend together pretty well.
Man this is soooo awesome. I was always hoping someone would try to make a versus mix between the JP and US versions of the songs. I really hope you plan to do more of them in the future....particularly Quartz Quadrant and Collision Chaos zones. Because from what I've heard so far, you do the best versus mixes so far.

Tidal Tempest Past (it has satisfying drums and fits the stage) 4. Tidal Tempest Good Future JP (fits the joy of getting a good future) 5. I really love this mix it really captures the spooky-ness of a watery cavern a different parts and the upbeat when ur going fast in the level! If you do make another mix you should do palmtree panic or maybe quartz quadrant i hope >
There's alot of Sonic music remixes out there but this is surley in the top 10! To hell with all those 5 million mixes of Ice Cap! Sonic CD's where it's at!
Jarman97 The past themes were actually chiptunes, and thus were actually coded into the game- not so much a different file type as a different medium. The rest was CD-Audio, and easily replaced as a result.

They couldn't change them thanks to the past songs being integrated into the game instead of being CDDA data. And they said they had 'licensing' issues with the music. Suuuure. Plus, only the US got the song change. Japan, Europe, UK, Aus, and all PAL regions and most NTSC regions got the 'japanese' soundtrack. Only the US has a different OST.
Well,in all the American continent. And plus,all Pal regions,UK and Australia got the US OST in Gems Collection,and the PC version of Sonic CD(the first one)

The Tastiest combination mix yet. As much as I hate water levels, the have some good music and tidal tempest is the best example of it.

even though i am not a fan of the us soundtrack, i will admit, my favorite of the us was tidal tempest, you just made a thing of beauty.

i thought it was the other way around. JP has the more active beat while US has more ambient distant tones

This is a knuckles rap mixed with a sonic cd theme made in heaven. Its relaxing yet keeps the ocean theme well. Perfect mashup!
