I'm about 6 hours in and really enjoying this, it's fun and challenging I've never been into borderlands but since playing this I've decided to revisit them
$70 just pisses me off for a 3rd party spin off game that re-uses tons of assets and ideas from Bl3. If it was $60 I probably would've bought it but I'm not supporting this greedy extra $10 asking price for something that is the same game as on last gen. If they did something extra for next gen, like massively improved visuals and modes that can only be done on the new systems then I wouldn't have such a problem with it.

I feel like this could surpass BL2 if they do the dlc right and expand upon loot and endgame content cause the story and presentation are already top notch as it is.

Even knowing this was basically Fantasy BL, it still surprised me by being a little more fun than I expected. I thought I'd get bored of the BL formula quickly, since I've been playing a bit of BLs 1-3 lately, but the new landscapes and presentation have been keeping it really interesting. I absolutely noticed the hitbox detection, especially when an enemy is partially behind something. The game objects seem to create sort of an invisible wall, so just make sure you have a very clear shot.
Your the first person to mention the lack of mibs in bl3. That bothered me too. Not to mention the first playthrough had to be on normal difficulty which was way too easy which made most encounters a cakewalk.
Here's my issue with it I'm sure a lot of people had too: I wasn't told until now that this was a NEW GAME. I was under the impression it was just a rerelease of Assault on Dragon Keep from 2. Up until I watched this video I was still under that impression.

never gave this game a chance, grabed it on a massive sale and didn't regret it. It's fun and absolute worth the price. I like this one a lot more than B3.
Borderlands has been inching towards the open world thing, but they really need to pull the trigger already. It doesn't have to be an MMO, maybe it'd still be fine with only 4 players, maybe it doesn't need dedicated servers, but it needs to go full open world. We still haven't gotten the perfect borderlands experience, but nothing's changed Everything needs to be respawnable and with interesting travel, lot more verticality would be great. Wonderlands seems a step back and a sidestep with the overworld. Chaos chamber is great but the opposite of world building. The chamber should be split up into different tiers and areas and you should have to travel to get to them so they're grounded in the world like dungeons. Not like the takedowns from 3 where it's so separated. Borderlands 1 did the world very well, each area seemed connected and although the map size was small for tech limitations of the time, the world felt real. Now it's just gotten more fast travel teleport chain of arenas, which really isn't compelling. It works for gameplay but, it's the same gameplay we've had for 14 years. The multiple planets thing from 3 just made this worse, and wonderlands seems even more claustrophobic
5:05 my prediction is in the next borderlands game they'll realize: "man replacing one of your grenade slots with a second skill was super fun. and spells were amazing... but what if players could do it ALL?!" i want to throw my teleporting mirv's AND have two skills to pop! and it's going to be glorious
I heard one review and it was enough to make me write off one of my favourite franchises of all time without watching a trailer simply because it was combined with the fact that I missed the news of its launch... over a year later and here I am, two days into getting this game for free from PSplus and I can't agree with your review more. I'm really happy with this game it's so refreshing to have a "borderlands" game where I can enjoy the gameplay without risk of ruining the game/story I loved and will continue to love so much... ...still can't get over what the hell they were doing with that blue hair angsty teen from BL3. She sucks so much I can't think of her name after two whole minutes. I mean, did anybody see the originally scrapped scene of her and Lilith after the Maya moment?? Mind blown.

!!!!WARNING!!!! Do not get this game if you intend to do any split screen whatsoever. They have decided to cut down the UI during split screen to such an extent that you cant even tell if a gun is an SMG or Pistol, there is no flavour text saying what kinds of alternate fire there is or anything beyond damage/fire rate etc. spellbooks (grenades) are the same and only have core stats leaving you to have to inspect every individual item just to find out what it does beyond core stats. even class items....nothing, It is completely unplayable. Please upvote this for visibility as I and many others may only buy this on certain platforms because of split screen on the same machine.

Generally I don't play first person shooters but I've been playing the crap out of this game and I think it's because of the element damage on the weapons. Usually guns don't have much variety it's just fire rate and accuracy and stuff and that's fine for most people but the element damage really did it for me.
I disagree about the overworld. I think it's more like a galaxy map from BL3 that you take part in (there's 1 word for what I'm trying to say but my dumbass forgot it as soon as I tried to talk about it)

My biggest complaint is the pacing especially on side quests. I always feel like I could be doing something rather than stand around waiting for dialog to end so I can progress.
Just picked this up along with ghostwire Tokyo and still haven’t finished eldin ring and put horizon on hold cuz of eldin ring…think I’m set till the end of the year when other releases come out

Fairly short game, with some decent end game content atm. about 50 hours in. Had a stupid amount of bugs throughout my entire gameplay tho. UI glitches, things not showing up in inventory after picking them up, not being able to read any description of hero stats because the dialogue box kept dissapearing, crashes, the quest menu would randomly go blank every other log in and you couldnt click on a quest or see the marker location. there were 10-15 more minor bugs that were expected as legacy gaming said, in 2022 playing a game on release. Not to mention co-op/crossplay/matchmaking has been a disaster and server lag is horrible. As much as i STILL enjoyed my time as much i could in the game, i would wait on this for at least a few months.
You know, I'm still playing Elden Ring and it was a tough transition to go back to quest markers and the BDL formula. The game is re-freshing but I wished the map/inventory was updated. I'm playing on the ps4 and it's not optimized too well. There are times where the screen freezes a bit, especially when there are 4-5 enemies.
I'm hyped for this one, especially the 6 playable classes/character creator/overworld. Going to hold out until I get the new Xbox though. The seasons pass content such as the new character class is a great move. I really didn't mind Borderlands 3.
with no way to start a game plus mode, the arena-style endgame is pointless. What is the point of collecting gold and chaos weapons when you cannot replay the game with the character you have leveled up?
Couple of my gripes not mentioned in this video. The assault rifles and shotguns have the same icon, so it’s sometimes hard to tell if it’s an assault rifle or not. But you luckily can kinda tell based on how the gun itself looks. The second big thing was not being able to skip looooong commentary parts. Like with the bard Torgue. I just put my controller down and went off for a few minutes to do something else since you can’t skip the dialogue. It’s not meaningful, so it’s skip worthy imo.
With tiny Tina's wonderland also being in the handsome collection as a DLC is there a point/ difference in buying the standalone Tiny Tina's wonderland?
Its not like your conventional raid but there are bosses that are considered raid bosses where you want 4 people with optimal builds to be able to beat them
I played borderlands 1 with some guys I met online a looong time ago and idk if I’ve had as much fun in a co op game sense. Haven’t played any of the other borderlands but I miss it. This looks perfect for me and my ps5..
I’m a borderlands super fan. I’m taking 6-8 play thoughts of BL 1 and 2. 3 play throughs of 3. And I’m about 10-15 hours into this game and so far I’m really bummed out. Is it really just more linear walk 50’ , battle arena , walk 50’ , battle arena , boss , repeat. If so I’m gonna have to say this is the first shit borderlands game. Is there really only like 4 weapons ?? So far I’m just shocked it’s so limited. Tell me I’m wrong. Tell me to keep going it’s gonna open up.

I really expected this to be much more magic oriented. This is not significantly different from Borderlands, it's still just heavily gun oriented. They should have made equipable: 2 guns, 2 magics & once you unlock sub class-2 class skills. You end up having access to 4 class skills but can only equip 1 at a time...They really missed the boat here on being able to do something a lot more unique. Also the spells are pretty much just projectiles or eruption/sigils; that's the vast majority, they didn't get very creative with the magic in a game about magic...It's pretty dissapointing.
I'm so excited to play this game going to be my first out of the series it just caught my eye on day 1 pre-order the best digital edition going to try it out tomorrow night thanks for your review and opinion 👍

I spent over 500 hrs enjoying Borderlands 3 and can easily see 1000+ with Wonderlands Very excited 😊😊😊😊 Though being a PC gamer and not liking Epic I'll grab this from Steam later this year at half price. I can wait, plenty of awesome games to play. Thanks Legacy 😊
Debating on the game. Borderlands 3 was okay but considering they literally only had 4 characters for the entirety of the game is were it lost me a grind is a grind but I need at least some variety
I also think they would add another melee class.. I mean they have 4 dlc in so far one dlc will add another class.😁 Also I pretty sure they will let u add another tree to the current to u can use... Just my thoughts
I've been playing pure melee berserker level 5 right now and it's been doable I soloed the first boss pure melee lol I'm attempting a melee only rum but melee compared to magic feels like poop shit magic is broken and needs a tone down imo specially the comet spells

This game is amazing….. the only flaw I can find (not counting the first day bugs cause they’ll be fixed) is the inventory system is a little cumbersome. Should have a way to pick stuff off the ground “marked” as junk right away so you can spend less time going through your inventory before selling. Also… why would gearbox allow you to sell the guns and armor that are currently equipped on your character? 🤦♂️ Besides that it’s an amazing game
I played every borderlands games and dlcs but this game has a lot of mixed reviews not an actually solid ratings i seen it get a 9 out of 10 but i seen it get a 6 and a 7 as well so ill wait until the game reles because i didnt rely like borderlands 3 and a lot of games has been terrible or unfinished or messed up with bugs so ill definitely just wait until release

i totally understand what you mean I've been playing borderlands since 2009 Lol when I was a kid and its got so much fun memories playing with my friends and meting new people and just having a fun time but i didn't have that with borderlands 3 to be honest i actually played that game on my own because everyone i use to play borderlands with hated bl3 so much thay got put off the game but i have hopes for this game and great review buddy
Perfect timing to leave Lost ARK and the P2W grind. Plenty of things to grind in Wonderlands like with all Borderlands games. And no ilvl needed to get to play it. ;)
I've spent 30 hours on the game. Bl3 is a soulless game with content. Wonderlands is a game with soul and a great foundation (it has the meat and potatoes), but lacking in content--the so called season pass is a joke, and they'll come out with a second season pass too that we'll have to pay. Hopefully it has content. Because this is season pass was abysmal. Wonderlands has no true vault hunter mode and just not enough content. I am sincerely hoping they fix this because the base game has a great skeleton and gameplay. Yes, the story is better. However, it is too short and not nearly as good as bl2 (high quality bar there). The game was a definite upgrade over bl3. I just enjoyed wonderlands and wanted to play it far more than bl3 after beating it (even without TVHM). The story and characters pissed me off so much in bl3 I couldn't play it past beating it once. I sorely wish gearbox would put as much content and free events as possible to thoroughly round out a great base game. There's a lot of potential not being utilized, and it's sad
Borderlands3 turned into a disappointment for me. TTWL looks great, but I wonder, Is there a way to modify or even remove the cell shading (thick dark borders around everything)... like in Borderlands-2?

Think about it you have a 12-hour campaign with some great character customization then you only have the Conqueror chamber and that's it that content is a quillivant to maybe Thirty or forty dollars it is not worth 60 bucks.. it's not like I don't have the money but I'm not going to some throw away my money like I'm giving my money to a exotic dancer dancing on tables for a living
The game is narrated by a teenage girl. A sparkly unicorn is one of main characters. Character creation is this one or that one. It includes a side quests staring lesbian ncp’s. If any of the above offends you….im glad you wont be infesting the player base of this fantastic experience of a game.

The only thing I'm still on the fence about (following this video) is whether or not they jammed politics and what not into the game to the point where it's overwhelming... I don't care about a side quest here or there, but I prefer my entertainment to be a mode of escapism and not a tool used to spread a message. You get enough of that everywhere regardless of what side of the fence you are on. So, if you had to plug this game into a "woke-meter", where would it land?
i mean, what do you consider political? cause it mentions lgbt quite frequently but i dont see that as politics really. most of the actual political stuff is taken lightly, and usually poking fun at both sides.

Couple of my gripes not mentioned in this video. The assault rifles and shotguns have the same icon, so it’s sometimes hard to tell if it’s an assault rifle or not. But you luckily can kinda tell based on how the gun itself looks.
The second big thing was not being able to skip looooong commentary parts. Like with the bard Torgue. I just put my controller down and went off for a few minutes to do something else since you can’t skip the dialogue. It’s not meaningful, so it’s skip worthy imo.
With tiny Tina's wonderland also being in the handsome collection as a DLC is there a point/ difference in buying the standalone Tiny Tina's wonderland?
Not sure I'll play this, but I did enjoy the chaos of BL3. My game list is just too long at this point =(

Man I would love for them to introduce Raids in this game. It would be insane to run 4 or 3 man raids and go absolutely nuts.

Its not like your conventional raid but there are bosses that are considered raid bosses where you want 4 people with optimal builds to be able to beat them
They have alot of health and multiple phases
I played borderlands 1 with some guys I met online a looong time ago and idk if I’ve had as much fun in a co op game sense. Haven’t played any of the other borderlands but I miss it. This looks perfect for me and my ps5..
I’m a borderlands super fan. I’m taking 6-8 play thoughts of BL 1 and 2. 3 play throughs of 3. And I’m about 10-15 hours into this game and so far I’m really bummed out. Is it really just more linear walk 50’ , battle arena , walk 50’ , battle arena , boss , repeat. If so I’m gonna have to say this is the first shit borderlands game. Is there really only like 4 weapons ?? So far I’m just shocked it’s so limited. Tell me I’m wrong. Tell me to keep going it’s gonna open up.

My game crashes all the time in local co-op om Xbox One.. just as bl3 did. If both playes use the meneu at the same time..
I really expected this to be much more magic oriented. This is not significantly different from Borderlands, it's still just heavily gun oriented. They should have made equipable: 2 guns, 2 magics & once you unlock sub class-2 class skills. You end up having access to 4 class skills but can only equip 1 at a time...They really missed the boat here on being able to do something a lot more unique. Also the spells are pretty much just projectiles or eruption/sigils; that's the vast majority, they didn't get very creative with the magic in a game about magic...It's pretty dissapointing.
can you change your character appearance at any time after starting?
Pretty much, have to reach the town, but that's super early on.

Debating on the game. Borderlands 3 was okay but considering they literally only had 4 characters for the entirety of the game is were it lost me a grind is a grind but I need at least some variety
Is an all melee build viable? Was hoping to go brr-zerker and stabbomancer to go max melee damage.
I also think they would add another melee class.. I mean they have 4 dlc in so far one dlc will add another class.😁 Also I pretty sure they will let u add another tree to the current to u can use... Just my thoughts
I've been playing pure melee berserker level 5 right now and it's been doable I soloed the first boss pure melee lol I'm attempting a melee only rum but melee compared to magic feels like poop shit magic is broken and needs a tone down imo specially the comet spells

Tbh at £60 looks like an expensive DLC.
If I don't go for dlcs how much I would be missing, I just feel bad that games story is locked behind a paywall :/
This game is amazing….. the only flaw I can find (not counting the first day bugs cause they’ll be fixed) is the inventory system is a little cumbersome. Should have a way to pick stuff off the ground “marked” as junk right away so you can spend less time going through your inventory before selling. Also… why would gearbox allow you to sell the guns and armor that are currently equipped on your character? 🤦♂️

I've only played for a few hours. I like the gameplay and some of the dialog has me busting up
1st person shooters will be in 1st person. Of course you can't see your character out of the pause screen.
I played every borderlands games and dlcs but this game has a lot of mixed reviews not an actually solid ratings i seen it get a 9 out of 10 but i seen it get a 6 and a 7 as well so ill wait until the game reles because i didnt rely like borderlands 3 and a lot of games has been terrible or unfinished or messed up with bugs so ill definitely just wait until release

i totally understand what you mean I've been playing borderlands since 2009 Lol when I was a kid and its got so much fun memories playing with my friends and meting new people and just having a fun time but i didn't have that with borderlands 3 to be honest i actually played that game on my own because everyone i use to play borderlands with hated bl3 so much thay got put off the game but i have hopes for this game and great review buddy
Perfect timing to leave Lost ARK and the P2W grind. Plenty of things to grind in Wonderlands like with all Borderlands games. And no ilvl needed to get to play it. ;)

Bl3 is a soulless game with content.
Wonderlands is a game with soul and a great foundation (it has the meat and potatoes), but lacking in content--the so called season pass is a joke, and they'll come out with a second season pass too that we'll have to pay. Hopefully it has content. Because this is season pass was abysmal.
Wonderlands has no true vault hunter mode and just not enough content.
I am sincerely hoping they fix this because the base game has a great skeleton and gameplay.
Yes, the story is better. However, it is too short and not nearly as good as bl2 (high quality bar there). The game was a definite upgrade over bl3.
I just enjoyed wonderlands and wanted to play it far more than bl3 after beating it (even without TVHM). The story and characters pissed me off so much in bl3 I couldn't play it past beating it once.
I sorely wish gearbox would put as much content and free events as possible to thoroughly round out a great base game.

Think about it you have a 12-hour campaign with some great character customization then you only have the Conqueror chamber and that's it that content is a quillivant to maybe Thirty or forty dollars it is not worth 60 bucks.. it's not like I don't have the money but I'm not going to some throw away my money like I'm giving my money to a exotic dancer dancing on tables for a living

The game is narrated by a teenage girl. A sparkly unicorn is one of main characters. Character creation is this one or that one. It includes a side quests staring lesbian ncp’s. If any of the above offends you….im glad you wont be infesting the player base of this fantastic experience of a game.

The only thing I'm still on the fence about (following this video) is whether or not they jammed politics and what not into the game to the point where it's overwhelming... I don't care about a side quest here or there, but I prefer my entertainment to be a mode of escapism and not a tool used to spread a message. You get enough of that everywhere regardless of what side of the fence you are on.
