    As many have said, Lisa is a grandmaster level singer with years of experience. Yeah, she's just that good. The emotion was real. The world and her found out her husband was cheating on her with groupies around this time. She was singing to someone.

    Ex audio-tech here, the thing she has her hand on is a personal monitor mixing station.
    It allows performers to mix a select pre-selection of audio channels sent from the audio board so that the engineer doesn't have to constantly adjust on the fly, but rather the artist has full control of volume themselves. It's quite common in studio takes to use them, you don't see them on stage all that often since they take up quite a bit of space. Usually the drummer and key-stations have them though. The rest either using a phone-app to control it or uses gestures to instruct an engineer on side-stage to adjust their monitoring levels.

    LiSA is amazing. You're right that it was very clear and precise. She's a perfectionist. Everything is perfectly crafted and enunciated. That said, her superpower is that she sings with all of her emotion, and it comes out in her songs, and it is fascinating to see that perfectionism come up against her desire to sign with emotion and give it her all, because a couple of times towards the end, her voice cracked a little as she was almost overcome by emotion, which made the performance, so, so much better. She talks about it in the end, where she said she gave it her all, like she would at a show. She's not kidding. There's a video out there of her completely losing it and collapsing in tears during a concert at the end of a song, but to her credit, she made it through the song, despite the fact that you could tell she was completely overcome in the last verse. Another video, same song, she almost loses it, but doesn't. What a beautiful soul to be able to sing and be that vulnerable.

    There are many great Japanese singers and bands in all different types and styles. Some that are notable are Wagakki Band (traditional Japanese music mixed with rock, award wining singer/poet asked for help keeping Traditional Japanese music alive this was the result), Band-Maid (Hard Rock juxtaposed with maid outfits, excellent singer/musicians), Lovebites (Power Metal with Thrash, clean vocals, excellent singer, excellent musicians), and Nemophila (Generic Metal/Metalcore, clean and harsh vocals, excellent singer, excellent musicians), and Babymetal (JPop crossed with Metal, excellent singer).

      Can’t forget Hanabie, which is like straight metalcore, harsh vocals, cleans and rap. And then there’s a whole sub genre in Japan that’s called, “metal idol” which is “normal” idols dancing to heavy metal while singing and also has harsh vocals

    I've noticed that sometimes listening to a song in a foreign language results in concentrating on the emotion intended as you can't really get that from the lyric even with subtitles as you don't know what syllable the emotion is directed at. This singer was able to convey her feelings quite well.......loved the little speech about what the song meant and did to her, and her ability to evoke emotion, I was tempted to call her the "Japanese Ren" (or "yen" beat you to it) Interesting choice to use a side shot of her singing rather than the traditional front face view.. Wonder if that was the choice because the language e would be foreign to many or most viewers. Regardless, if you won't say it, I will say this about the performance;://ruclips.net/video/DiF1ituOTNU/видео.html

    I didn't know people from outside Japan reacted to this song, thank you!
    For the context, Lisa is married to a famous voice actor and has a kid.
    There was a cheating scandal on her husband who was caught visiting his fans house multiple times but LiSA chose to stay together forgiving her husband.
    Her getting emotional at the end is because of the lyrics that resonated a lot with her amidst this scandal.

    Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。LiSA looks sad and emotional in this song. If you see - LiSA x Uru Saikai, you will find LiSA's cheerful and bright side in collaboration with another excellent female singer, Uru. You can find it in the same channel "The First Take".
    (FYI. LiSA's friend BABYMETAL has recently uploaded a beautiful ballad in this The First Take channel - Monochrome - piano version. That is also amazing with different style than LiSA's. Please try.)

    What you've mentioned around 6 minutes in your video is that the lyrics are "in first person" as a narrating character of a book instead of "third person" as a removed storyteller narrating it.
    This concept is more commonly thought of in videos and videogames, but it applies to any narrative device, such as poems and song lyrics too =)
    For literature i've only seen the usages above as narrating charater and abstract/removed narrator, but works the same

  • @mclark347
    @mclark347 Год назад +2

    She does enunciate nearly all of the sounds. But there are a few moments where she very intentionally plays with the syllable weight. In Japanese, a syllable is further broken down into units called "morae." Most syllables also have only one mora, but syllables that end with "n" or have two vowels also have a second mora, and are slightly longer. She sometimes chooses to condense n-final syllables to reduce their weight, or exaggerate vowel sequences and separate them into two entire syllables.

If you want to watch more from that channel i would recommend to give "Babymetal - Monochrome" a chance. It's a rather new video on the channel and Babymetal's singer Su is one of the best singers of her generation with a crazy good voice and singing technique.
