Brilliant video 😂. I managed to get to the bottom of mine hopefully this will help some of you guys out. My pump was working but not draining the water. Drain the water as he does with a cup remove the filter and the tray bellow it. This will expose the main drain for the dishwasher. Remove all of that water. Pour a kettles worth of boiling water in, remove the drain pipe under the sink and place into a bucket and keep turning the machine on and off it get the pump working. Mine eventually cleared what was a big fat blockage. Might not work for you guys but worked a treat for me. Hopefully this will help someone.

Ohh sorry it didn't help but, I know how to do it now, find the pipe/hose underneath your sink with the little U or T-shaped filter, empty that filter and it should solve it. Get a man around the house to do it for you. :-)

Our dishwasher works like a charm as it has for 40 years. Never gets plugged, no maintenance required (well some)....and is extremely cost effective. That dishwasher is me.

Hi Jenna, yep I'm married, I got the new video up explaining how I actually solved the problem permanently, check the description incase you're still dealing with the same problem.
Very entertaining.
The fix is to remove the white cover you find at the lowest point inside, by bringing it forward then up. After that you can spin the pump you find there a few times and clean it well.

I just fixed my dishwasher today. I had the same problem that the dishwasher wouldn’t drain. So my water drain line was CLOGGED SOOOO badly. Fat and nonsense. Took it off, went outside with it and pressure washed it and a bunch of sh1t flew out of it as if I had Taco Bell earlier. So re installed the water drain and it worked great!

Okay okay! So I fixed this problem! It turned out that I had to check the little space where the drain hose connects to the sinks drain. It wasn't the washer or the hose it's self but the tiny little connecter that the hose fits into. It had a little nut shell stuck in it which caused the whole thing to stop up.

Thanks for watching, it's not just about the humor though, to solve the problem, you need to find a exit pipe going from the washer to the wall, there should be a T or U junction connector/adaptor or whatever it is called, take it apart, of course you'd expect some mess, you should find a tiny filter inside, if not, just clear visible food remnants inside and that should solve the problem. You can do that & tet me know if it helped.

@@WildWoodlandsSW I'm sure it will but, If for some reason it doesn't, I'd like to see the photo of you entire waste pipe from your washer to the wall, something has to be the object I'm talking about. And while it might not be the shape i'm talking about, as long as it's stands out from the hose, it should be it.
@@Sir-Kay Thank you. I actually did the internal cleaning like you said, and used a drain unblocker for good measure,like for the toilet. I ran the cycle,and was amazed it worked! Many thanks for your help.Keep up the good work 🙂🙏

:-) thanks for watching, this is how to solve the problem, get you a man, tell him to find the exit pipe coming from the Dishwasher to the wall, there should be a T or U junction type connector, unscrew it, you'll find a filter in it, empty that filter screw everything right back on and your washer should be back in order. Try that and get back to me.

If it’s not your pipes it’s the city main drain from the sewer system blocking up other peoples house drains

Not just yet, find the exit hose: the hose responsible for the wastes, it should have like a T-shape connector that another hose connects to, that hose has a tiny filter that needs to be emptied and that was what solved my problem. There were food remnants inside. Give it a try before calling a plumber.

Use a plunger in the sink to see if you can move the water in the dishwasher. If you can the drain is not fully closed.

No no no no, don't give up, that wasn't my intention. Although at the time this video was shot, I didn't know the answer to the problem but, now I know, I wish I could just slide it in but, it would have to be another video. It's so easy, it's not even worth making a video about.
Just look for the hose exiting the rear of the Dishwasher, and whatever it connect to first, there should be a "T-junction" connector, unscrew this and you should have a tiny filter/basket type of thing in it, empty the food debris you find inside and re-install. Tell me if this helps.

I had a similar problem. My waste water outlet hose was small enough to get my air gun in there and blow compressed air into it. When I did this, I had it all taken apart inside, and a little plastic piece came flying out that was blocking it all up. Now it works great again.

I’m on my second countertop dishwasher both mal-function due to inability to drain. I had warranty and Amazon fully refunded both machines. I felt as though the problem could have been resolved somehow. But due to the pandemic, there were no home repair shops making house calls. It worked in the wash cycle perfectly but no drain and no drying cycle. Second machine (different brand and manufacturer end same issue) . I didn’t want to go inside and do something terminal. However, since Amazon already sent me a refund check. I’m going to go into the tray and check for clogs and cleaning. The problem started when I used those pods in both machines. I shall try some of the suggestions given here. Enjoyed your presentation.

Funny video & great personality but you need help like me. I’ve tested the pump, drain hose clear, filters clear and next is to test the float & switch on a Whirlpool dishwasher. Wish me luck!

You have to tilt the dishwasher backwards to empty water in the bottom as it won’t run the pump if there is water in the bottom tray, then reset the dishwasher by holding down the start button for 3-5 seconds, it should work

How do I tilt it backwards when it’s under my counter top! I have a whirlpool and I don’t see a reset button anywhere!
@@joanndotson8762 pull it out from under the counter then tip it backwards and mop up any water that comes out. Usually the reset is done by holding down the power and start button for 3-5 seconds

I have double dishwasher issues! It won't drain AND it's tripping the circuit breaker! I'm guessing a faulty drain pump causing a short and current overload? 🤷♂️. No error codes because the power cuts out!
Looks like an electrical issue there, I'm afraid when it comes to electric problems, your best bet will be to consult an authorised person as doing the wrong thing might be dangerous. I won't be cheap with things that can involve fire/life etc. Sorry I wasn't able to help.
It would also need to be reported to the d.o.t which means there is something in the drain
Which causes other problems with other drains sewer drains mains and mains

Unfortunately, if even after all those efforts dishwasher retains water, we might be dealing with broken device which is responsible for pushing the water out. Whatever the name for it is.

There could be something stuck in the drain pump. There are videos to remove the cover (it’s pretty simple).
Could also be something stuck in the dishwasher hose. You’ll want to flush it by turning the dishwasher to drain and have the hose running into a bucket.

I drained water by using hose, took detergent bottle to pull water into the hose. then lower the hose to be under the level of water and wait for it to drain trough the hose. Please comment if you used this method to remove water :)

Same thing happens to me too, except I found that if I let the water cool, I can hit the Cancel button and the water will drain. Mine is a KitchenAid bought in 2020. I think I'll take a break too.
I also have a kitchenaid with the cancel/drain button, but mine doesn’t work half the time 😭 so frustrating!!!
