I am glad you found out one of the cool things about the digirig. I programmed my KX2 and did a software update with it. One more thing to mention I am running FT8 with iFTX to do FT8 with my iPad. I am using my iPad, Digirig and my KX2. How cool is that, I bet you could do the same with your FT818.

Thank you! Your instructions worked perfectly. I already had the DR hooked up to my 818 for FT8. I just had to download Chirp. What's even better is that our local ARES group has a CSV file of all the commonly used frequencies in the area. It was a simple download from the radio into chirp, import the CSV, then upload to the 818. Glad you did this video.

It's always good to put out all the options. I need an 8 pin so i can use my digirig with my old ass ft-100. That's the only jack i haven't been able to find out here. Thanks for the content, brother. 🤙🏾

That's funny, I had to get that sorted out myself last night after grabbing a used 818. Good stuff!

I've also been thinking about buying a Digirig...this makes it more likely that I will. As you say, programming (in my case) the 817nd manually is a PITA, to the point where I don't often bother using mine for FM/repeaters. 73 Mike and many thanks, G0CIQ

    Thx Mike. Good to know.
RT Systems is another easy and great option!

I discovered, out of the blue, much like have now done, that I could program repeaters into my FT-818 not long after I got the Digirig last year. I've had to restore the programming a few times after resetting the radio in an attempt to solve some other issues. My radio club net controllers often comment on the audio qualitywhen I use the FT-818 on our FM net instead of my FT3D.

The only radios i love more than my 818 are the ICOM IC-705 and Elecraft KX2.

I was able to use the RT software with the Digirig also on an IC 7000

How about the 857? I guess I'll check if it works, although I already programmed it a long time ago. I think some repeaters changed PL tone though

DAMN, Mike! I was holding off on buying a DigiRig until I had a good reason. I think I found the reason...
