When it comes to how Megatron's Tank mode can fly, my best guess is that it has a hover conversion similar to what the DeLorean had in Back to the Future part 2, as well in Revenge of the Fallen where Megatron's alt mode can also fly. Who knows, maybe Megatronus Prime also had a Tank mode with flight capabilities, which could explain why his Transformers One counterpart had wings.

You Forgot That Tranaformers Film Series Megatron became a Tank in Transformers 2 (2009) Revenge of The Fallen and he Flew.
I want to say um transformers energons megatron was part plane but also had tank treads? Or maybe he had a tank gun on his arm? One of those
