Soundwave also leads the most reliable team on the Decepticons. Think of how many plans start with either Laserbeak or Ravage doing recon, or Rumble starting some kind of natural disaster.
This is hands down one of the best animations I've ever seen. The combination of stupid G1 humor, stupid 21st century memes, and stupid Decepticons leads to an experience I can only describe as... Stupid.
Making an army of sociopathic rejects, of which every individual involved believes himself to be an evil genius who will eventually overcome and overthrow all obstacles was a brilliant idea and Megatron’s crowning achievement. Future generations are undoubtedly very grateful that he Fight Clubbed most of the species into becoming metal orks.

D: ) that some of the lines by Ironhide STILL didn't make any sense, as if there was a deleted scene or two somewhere out there. ("We shoulda taken care of those two [Megatron and Starscream] when we had the chance!" - WHAT chance?!)
You start to wonder if this is truly stupid and hilarious when Astrotrain tells a bunch of trains to recite a pledge of loyalty, and stop wondering when the _trains respond._

I've watched this 10 times now and I'm still laughing like a demented person. This has a different meaning than when I watched this same story decades ago. It seemed like a ridiculous fight between petty villains and now it's a slapstick situation that brings back the humor of the 3 stooges.
