Hi Linda just loved your video. l just love old things and l love recycling to. The box on your window so beautiful with your tulips in. Your house is so beautiful and just love your style so beautiful
Recently forced to take out a pine on my property; it had died, & woodpeckers bred in it last yr, but, danger of falling. I so enjoy woodpeckers, watching them drill, & the holes they leave.
You never cease to amaze me with your gorgeous ideas. You have the eye of an artist and the hands of a craftsman,Your home is truely a reflection of your flair for all things beautiful.I agree that you save the vibrant colours for spring.Sunshine and bright coloured flowers will warm the heart of the coldest gardener in early spring. We will soon be saying goidbye to summer here. Its been beautiful to see my old favourites come to their glorious best again. You have so much to look forward too.
Exactly Linda.Autumn is my favourite season. It brings its own colours and charm. It gives me time to thank mother nature for all she gave me in the growing season and now I can help her put the garden to bed.Thankyou again Linda for your posts. You are just so beautiful and sweet. You make my day
Linda , I love how you used the rustic box and hollowed out limbs to create such beautiful flower displays. I am like you I love old boxes and baskets and have quite a collection that I use for decorating. The window display is amazing.
Dear Linda I absolutely love all your videos, I only recently discovered your channel but it has brought me so much happiness. I love your thrifting videos and have now started to frequent thrift stores. I have also started potting and trimming my very own boxwood topiaries, my garden is very small but I am inspired by your wonderful style. Regards Kershnee From South Africa
On days I'm not gardening outdoors I am usually messing with my indoor plants OR shopping for pots and other garden supplies. Today I built a small raised bed and prepared it with soil, I'm SO ready for Spring! Thanks for so many inspiring videos!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful flower arrangements and home. I just love tulips and that color you picked is perfect for this time of year, particularly next to the forsythia.
Beautiful arrangements Linda and so simple! Who needs a fancy crystal vase when you can use an old wooden box or some old stumps. Such great ideas! I LOVE IT!! ❤
I swear! 🌺 Linda Vater I am so jealous!!💗 How is it that you have those absolutely gorgeous mantle log vases!! Man, now I have to up my game....how lucky are you! Beautiful obsession!🌺😐🌹

Hi Linda we are having snow falling as I am writing to you . It is cold here in New Jersey. Oh I Love your Basket with those Tulips in . And the carve out logs is Absolutely Beautiful. You have a very organised basement that is a good place to keep all your things you aren't using. Thank you for sharing. Nice to 2yu again . So until next time God Bless you and Stewart and have a Blessed Evening and Stay Safe my dear Friend. 😊😊😊
I just found your channel. Beautiful house! What a great way to use tree stumps. They would work wonderfully outside as planters too. Hope I can find some this spring.
I would love to see videos on how you put to use your baskets. I have a few but don't know how to utilize them aside from storage. I would love to make them part of the decor in my house.
Kudos Linda for the Trader Joe's shout out I work for the company. I always loved going thrifting but as of resent I look at finds through my Linda eyes " as in how will Linda repurpose this" Thanks for the inspirations
So funny because after Hurricane Sally I called few hollowed out stumps cool wood /bark stuff as well!! Love this look! I suppose there is always a silver lining to Mother Nature storms ! Thanks for sharing!!
I say, "Beautiful!".... you have such great taste...timeless and elegant... I love the terra cotta color of the tulips that you chose...I tend to go subtle colors...and do not like, in my house,..anything bright...but I do like bright colors of flowers in my outside garden!
I love seeing enthiust about thrifting, I have done it mostly due to low income, I feel so much better about it now, and will have new ideas for building my backyard gardens, I also have been thrifting nurseries every week, looking for ornamental grasses and plants I can buy one pot and propogate over the winter I get numerous plants that away with a fraction of the cost of buying multiples.
So fun to utilize your Goddard and Goddard box! Admittedly I had to look up that company after your last video. So enjoyable to read about the old companies, but also am melancholy too! Sad to realize so many companies are no longer. Thank you for your “calming” videos. Loved your hollowed out stumps!! A silver lining in the dark aftermath of the ice storm.
Love stuff like this, I can't wait to get back into mutching in antique shops where I live, love your table cloth. Looks like a Paisley pattern, I live in Paisley Scotland where it was made in the mills z😊❤
I had no idea it originated overseas! Thanks for sharing that fact. As an American I only associated it with bandanas worn by cowboys back in the day, haha.
@@foggybottomz The tear drop shape came from Persian, but the pattern was named after the town of Paisley in the western coast of Scotland I've even got a pair of earnings and a broach that u ware often take care x😊💐💐👍
I adore the hollowed out tree stumps as floral containers. Very organic, right from nature. Linda, you mentioned some time ago about a possible venture with QVC. Is that still something we can look forward to in the future? I’m loving this intimate, cozy format. During this pandemic, they feel like a visit in your home with your best garden friend. Thank you ❤️
Linda I just noticed your snow shoes. I have some very similar but mine are longer...mine are probably 5 ft from tip to end. They were my grandfather’s and he wore them often in Northern Minnesota in the woods.
Your forsythia looks beautiful. I had it on my calendar today to bring in some forsythia from my yard to start forcing their blooms. However, in CT we're in the midst of a two day snow storm. Shoulda pruned some pieces yesterday!
I can’t plant tulips in the ground the goffers eat them. So, I plant them in pots. Your tulip arrangement is so beautiful. I love thrifting with my sister.
Thank you for this inspiration! My mother gave me some beautiful silk geraniums that I’m sure cost her a small fortune because they look so realistic. I’ve been waiting to find the right vessel for them... I have a similar box that will fit beautifully on my kitchen window sill! I’m so excited to get started! Oh, I may need to find some hallowed out logs too! 😉
Good Morning Linda! Your ideas and floral arrangements are beautiful! I was wondering if you put thin wire up the stems of your Tulips to keep them upright? Whenever I use Tulips regardless of the vessel they always seem to flop over which is sad because I tend to shy away from them. Maybe you just have that magic touch! LOL! Regardless of what you do your arrangements are beautiful!! Love the idea of the tree logs and so love your cozy home!! Have a great day and I will see you in the next one!! Hugs! :)
Hey Sweetie! In this arrangement I wanted them to flop a bit. Here’s a good article: www.housebeautiful.com/uk/garden/plants/a27191534/how-to-stop-tulips-drooping/
Beautiful arrangement Linda. I just found your channel and I will subscribe. Loved seeing your home. Where did you get the picture of the steer above the mantle upstairs in the room off your kitchen?
I’m not sure where my husband got it… It is a replica of a cave painting in Lascaux, France en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lascaux. My husband has a degree in anthropology so it is especially meaningful to him. We love it!
@@LindaVater Thank you, I have a couple of branches that I collected in the summer, I will put them outside to "freeze" as I want to hang them up. Cheers

beautiful!! Linda did you have to treat the wooden stumps in anyway? They are fabulous looking!
Not really. They were outside in freezing weather for a while to kill any bugs though. These also we’re naturally hollowed out inside already.

Where did you get your plaid curtains? I am such a plaid fan! I, too, live in an English tudor.
Did you clean the stumps with anything before bringing them inside? Love the look and can do the same from my yard. Beautiful tulips !
Not really. They had been left outside and experienced several hard freezes. That would’ve zapped any bugs :-)
Do you do anything to control bugs in your tree trunk vases?
They had been out in freezing temps so I think that zapped any bugs:)
Now I want to go to Trader Joe’s and buy tulips there😀
