  • When we got news that Suzanne Collins was writing a NEW book - Sunrise on the Reaping - OF COURSE I thought it was a Haymitch book...until I realized that she never actually said it would be from young Haymitch Abernathy's perspective, just that it took place during the 50th Hunger Games.
    Is our new Hunger Games Book 2025 going to be from President Snow's perspective? Plutarch Heavensbee? Maysilee? Let's talk about it.
    In the original video I posted about Haymitch's story...a lot of y'all had theories in the comments that this was NOT going to be Haymitch's story. And you had some super interesting guesses about who it WOULD be - and I want to talk about them all.

    Initially I was with everyone who quickly jumped to “50th games, okay so Haymitch.” But as I thought about it more and have been hearing more about the theory of it being Plutarch I think it’s him. From Ballad we can tell that the Heavensbee family has BIG capitol money, Corio goes to school with a boy named Hillarius Heavensbee and the mentors watch the game from Heavensbee Hall. We see snows granddaughter as a child during catching fire so I would assume Plutarch would be about 1 generation below snow, so maybe a young cousin or child of Hillarius. That would put him very easily in a position as a young adult to possibly start learning the trade of being a game maker, so from that timeline it would’ve taken him at least 25 years to become head game maker after Seneca Crane (who we can also infer comes from big capitol money and must be a distant relative of snows dead classmate Arachne Crane) I think it’s either gonna be 100% Plutarch’s pov or a swapping pov between Plutarch and Haymitch (similarly to how the last book of the Divergent series is written back and forth between Tris and Four’s pov)

    I think the only way we get all out answers is if it’s from Katniss’ dad’s POV. He & Haymitch would have both grown up in the Seam together & it’s logical to think they could be friends. I also think if we’re going to do deep dive trauma psychology like in all the other books, we need to understand how Katniss’ parents got together & why her mother wouldn’t know what to do without her father after his death & I think that can only be explained through trauma bonding, which would make sense if they got close to each other while watching their best friends in the arena. I think understanding it from the best friends perspectives & them watching how their best friends are portrayed to the rest of the nation would be fascinating in understanding propaganda. It’d also give us the Covey tie ins (as most believe Katniss’ dad was Maude Ivory’s son) & an outside understanding of what’s changed between Lucy Gray’s Games & the 50th… different markers etc. it would also be interesting to see who knows what & how much, like where they’ve been silenced & what threats have been made depending on where Snow is in his rise to power.

    It will be a game maker pov because of the purple in the title ( the game makers wear purple and we don’t have a game makers pov yet)

    It was never said but doing the math Snow become president in the 15th edition of the Hunger Games. But it will be interesting to see Snow on Sunrise On The Reaping, especially what political position he will be in and as this book is about propaganda, it will be interesting as well too see how tributes, districts and the capitol see him. Because the propaganda will make each of these three see him differently.

    I feel like it could be from a career district because so far they have done katniss from the lower district and snow from the capital so I feel like we might get introduced into a new character who’s from the career district

    Spoilers for the HG series ahead: I saw a couple of theories online that were interesting...One was that the new book would be from Maysilee's sister's perspective. Maysilee had a twin sister, who was friends with Katniss's mom when they were children. This sister isn't named in the book I don't believe, but she grows up to be the mayor of District 12's wife, and mom to Madge Undersee who would later give Katniss her Mockingjay pin. The other theory was that it would be from Haymitch's girlfriend's perspective. She isn't named in the books, but she is killed by the capital after Haymitch wins the Hunger Games as punishment for his pushing back against the game makers. I think I prefer the theory about Maysilee's sister better, but they both are interesting.

      @@Melodys_Inner_Circle oooh I completely missed the thing about maysilees sister! And haymitchs gf would be a super interesting look (but also would be super sad 😅) those would both be really good povs tho - they would really be able to see the changes in their loved one from that outside perspective

    It would be interesting to see the perspective from the district one girl, I saw a vid that said the title of the book sounds a little optimistic and bright, and that’s the attitude a career tribute would have for the games at that point, and she was the last one against haymitch, only thing is she doesn’t win so the perspective would drop, but it would still be really cool

    Since the book is about propaganda Ceasar Flickerman or Claudius Templesmith the presenter of the Hunger Games might be a possibility. They have to make the viewers care enough about the tributes to care about the games, but not enough to riot when most of them are killed. Their thoughts on how to do this might be interesting.

    I think Plutarch could be part of this. Snow went to the academy with Hilarius Heavensbee which means the Heavensbee family is in the Capitol.

      That and the 10th games the mentors watched at Heavensbee Hall, so the Heavensbee’s have big capitol money for sure. I definitely agree I think it’s gonna be Plutarch, at least partially his pov if not the entire book.

     @theegreatkatsby I think Sunrise on the Reaping will focus on Haymitch Abernathy's perspective and focus one or two chapters from Plutarch Heavensbee and Maysilee. i don't think we will see President Snow's perspective due to his story is over. also, consider the book is set up for Katniss. i wouldn't be surprised that the Covey makes a cameo

    I think that it doesn’t make sense if it isn’t a book abt Haymitch. He’s the victor of the 50th. Why wouldn’t he be the main character?..

    • @Hushus0
      @Hushus0 16 дней назад

      Lucy Gray Baird is the victor of the 10th and yet Coriolanus is the main character in Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and it’s not even written in his POV. We can expect anything at this point

    • @I_l0v3nuggets
      @I_l0v3nuggets 14 дней назад

      @@Hushus0 okay yeah but, it wouldn’t make sense to just all of a sudden introduce us to a random character we don’t even know, right? Like, okay, Lucy Gray is the victor of the 10th Hunter Games, sure, but we’ve never heard of her before this, and she doesn’t have any connection to Katniss or Peeta. We’ve seen President Snow, hate him with a passion, and now we feel depressed over his backstory, and still somewhat hate him. If we had just introduced Lucy Gray as a new victor, and someone who dated snow, without mentioning her even once, it wouldn’t make any sense. I know some people think it might be Maysile’s book, (sry if I’m not spelling it right..) but she dies and has no further story, and she was barely mentioned, so we don’t rly know anything abt her except she was Mrs. Everdeen’s friend. That’s why it only makes sense for it to be Haymitch. Bc we know him, we love him, and he’s rly mysterious to us, we know almost nothing abt his games except for what the Capitol wanted to show us in the second book, there could have been plenty of things that happened other than what the screens showed.

  • @madcybrarian
    @madcybrarian 12 дней назад

    The best way to show propaganda would be to have one point of view in the capitol, in the middle of the action (I'm thinking Plutarch here) and someone from 12 who survives - Mrs Everdeen would be a very logical choice here
