Edit: I stopped training for 3 years though and recently started again but I'm now 15lbs heavier than what I used to be (a lot of that is muscle). I just started training for the one arm pullup again, I can currently barely even hold a negative for a few seconds.

Big muscles are irrelevant, strength is about a well developed branching system (cardio respiratory and nervous systems). That’s why there are some small guys who can achieve crazy feats of strength
Edit- big muscles could mean you have more capacity for strength. But regardless irl it doesn’t matter too much if you’re physically the strongest unless it’s your spiritual calling. Be an all rounder, strong fast, agile, intelligent, wise, healthy, and a true man/woman. Also Testosterone isn’t too important either.

Big muscles are absolutely relevant as bigger cross-section of a muscle is a great predictor for raw strength it can provide. It's not all there is to it as technique and neural activation also are contributing but that's not the same thing as size being irrelevant.
What is worth keeping in mind htat strength increases due to size have a tradeoff when it comes to things that are strength to weight ratio dependent. Like pull ups or one arm pull ups.

I appreciate that he gave a guide on not only how to do the pull up but how to work up to it. True, we might not all may be able to do it but at least if we try, we have the correct information to work with.

Dude besides those direct bent arm eccentric concentric work. Do alot of hanging i know you wonder why alot of single arm hanging? Imo and experience they kinda speed up the learning process. Actually from my own experience when i hanged alot on one arm with slight elbow bend shoulder hunched up onto ears = elevation protraction. It gave me the Oap multiple times back in a pretty short amount of time. I did not only do it on bars also towels hanging from a pull up bar. Were i hanged alot frequently. And even did slight toe assisted eccentrics on the towel kinda similar to toe assisted ring muscle up eccentrics. But that what gave me it pretty fast in a short amount of time when i lost it due to detraining. If you have any other questions about technical clues feel free to ask me! I have alot of experience with training Oap on and off

    Greatest man in history
    - Had no servants, yet they called him Master.
    - Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher.
    - Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer.
    - He had no army, yet kings feared Him.
    - He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.
    - He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.
    - He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today

These guys have great relative strength but awful absolute strength. Neither could bench 225 for a single rep but can do 15 + pull-ups which is difficult for actual bodybuilders to do because of their enormous sizes but these celery sticks can do one arm pulls ups because they weigh less than a bodybuilders typical meal 😂

    This reminded me.
    I went from 155lb to 185lb at 6ft
When I first started I could barely do 1 pullup and 8 pushups.
When I finished I could do 45 push ups and 5 pull ups.
I could do one arm push ups but pull ups were always the hardest.

the key to body weight training is to be as lean as possible while maintaining strength. how do u do it ? first, prioritize diet, meaning ? calorie deficit, second, make sure u get enough protein, but not too much, because too much protein can make ur muscles big, which can make bidyweight exercise hard to perform, because muscles are dense and heavy, the rest of calories spread evenly in fats and carbs. third, focus in strength training/compound exercises. why ? because strength training is not hypertrophy exercises, they are unable to make ur muscles grow stupidly big because ur muscles dont get enough stretch for it to grow enough.
there u go, the secret of looking lean but strong af.

What’s the point? Are you trying too get stronger or are you trying too be able too do a one arm pull up? Like what’s the point?
It’s like trying too be better at deadlifting with one arm, would you rather be stronger at deadlifting or be stronger at deadlifting with one arm, it’s kinda useless.
Why would i want too be good at pull ups with one arm when I have 2….. make it make sense.
It’s kinda senseless if you think about it?
Would you rather be the dude who can be the dude who does the most one arm pull ups or the dude who can do the most pull ups, I’d be the later.
