What a beautiful church!
I must visit
That's definitely a church I must visit
I quite often find myself nearby - yesterday for example.
In Romania,or Eastern Ortodox countries, churches are very beautifull painted inside!
They certainly can be - no foreign trips planned yet - but you never know...
What a gem Nothing Nothing brutalistic about it.I worked on brutalistic buildings.I love the best and hate the worst. Brutalistic it's not
Well - You gotta read the John Summerson Article to be sure - you can get it free here archive.org/details/heavenlymansions00summ/page/n3/mode/2up - start on page 162.
Here he kind of characterises All Saint's as the National Theatre of its day and if you look at that frontage - well my first thought was of a workhouse rather than a church (I say this, of course, from a place of love).
Its a good read - it makes you think - then makes you think - nah!
Brilliant again.
If you are into more weird and wonderful London churches,I'd recommend St John the Divine Vassall Rd Kennington (The cathedral of S London,by Street) St John the Evangelist,Upper Norwood (Pearson, with perfect accoustics) and...for a more convincing Gothic/Brutalism crossover St Stephen's Rosslyn Hill (Hampstead) designed by wild-man genius SS Teulon....happy hunting!
I keep meaning to get to the Agapemonite church of the Ark of the Covenant in Clapton....If it's good,I'll let you know.
It's certainly...striking....from the outside.
I love these suggestions - thanks.
Hmm... I wonder if I'll have luck with Agapemonites? I'll let you know.
@@hereticatious There must be way more out there...I know I've only scratched the surface.
Look up the Agapemonites in Wiki...they were a hoot....
@@hereticatious I'm sure I've only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to strange London churches...
At 3:56, why would Aaron be a stretch? He's wearing the breastplate that is described in Scripture.
Thanks for the that - I will look out for it in future.
I removed my comment!
I was still amused by it :-)
ThanxXxyou & bless you. It’s how I speak & it’s just words completely harmless so to speak..🫲😂🫱
As ya know I meant it in the best possible way obviously.🩵xXx
You don't know much about organs and organ building.
You are quite wrong - I know nothing about organs and organ building. But I've made a start - and there are two looong videos - mostly focused on the playing - so give me time. :-)
