I feel like this is just NRS giving a confusing nickname to the troop Quan Chi had with Sareena and a few other girls in it, and not renaming the entire Brotherhood of Shadow faction, as convincing as the incompetence seems on both sides here. I think we're okay.

You mentioned mythologies the first time you hear see or read anything about the brotherhood is in mk3 umk mkt and mythologies. Sareena kai and jataaka are in the brotherhood. Hell those three are in mythologies in cut scenes and you fight them in game as well. Hell even mythologies strategy guide says something about it. Also quan chi made the brotherhood him and shinnok.

Third of all if your mad at such a small change in a game that doesn’t change the story or game at all then you really need to get your priorities straight.
Also don’t know if your aware, but currently in lore there are three members of the “sisterhood of shadow”, Kia, Jaataka and Serena, this is because no other members besides them has joined because Quan Chi only just got his powers a few years ago. So for it being called a sister hood because the only members right now are female, makes sense.
