In the UK all gold transactions through registered dealers are reported to Government. Unless you are trading in a unregulated market like ebay there is a record of all your purchases and sales. Just that with the metal so tightly controlled they have no reason to do anything with that information at this time.

The real point about confiscation is that the government compensates the holders at a set price (I think it was $20 in 1933), and when the program is over, immediately bumps the ‘official’ pegged price of gold up massively (to $35 after the confiscations).

Great interview !! Mr. Tucker is a very intelligent man, but he said there isn't enough gold to have a gold-backed cryptocurrency, and that doesn't make sense. There are at least 10 times as many ounces of gold as there is Bitcoin. If there is enough Bitcoin to have a cryptocurrency, then there should be enough gold to have a gold-backed cryptocurrency. It would be traded in smaller units, similar to Satoshi's.

The US is NOT a liberal democracy, David...it is a Republic, otherwise known a representative democracy. Regretfully the current political environment is pushing socialistic policies and that puts precious metals and cash at risk. Mr. Tucker makes good sense.

The real point about confiscation is that the government compensates the holders at a set price (I think it was $20 in 1933), and when the program is over, immediately bumps the ‘official’ pegged price of gold up massively (to $35 after the confiscations).

Most people don’t realize is that all they have to do is get a court order compelling you to turn it over. If you don’t comply with the court order then they can hold you in jail for contempt until you do turn it over.

Great interview !! Mr. Tucker is a very intelligent man, but he said there isn't enough gold to have a gold-backed cryptocurrency, and that doesn't make sense. There are at least 10 times as many ounces of gold as there is Bitcoin. If there is enough Bitcoin to have a cryptocurrency, then there should be enough gold to have a gold-backed cryptocurrency. It would be traded in smaller units, similar to Satoshi's.
Always enough gold. The only variable that needs to change is the “Price”.
